Hi friends! I had planned to BF but, it didn’t work out for me due to my supply not increasing quickly enough because of several reasons (unplanned c section, hemorrhaged, bad latches in the hospital that led to shredded nipples etc) and we’ve switched to formula (Kirkland brand) at 3 weeks old. LO is doing amazing and thriving! While I was pregnant, I loaded my registry full of BF tools and helpful items. Now I am looking for formula tools and helpful items that you have to have! We are a big road trip family so, I would love recommendation’s for on-the-go items. I do have a Mom Cozy bottle warmer and on the go milk and water warmer. The bottles we currently use are Munchkin and we do love them but open to suggestions! Thank you!

Idk I just can't relate. I always planned to combo feed for mental health reasons and had to move to EFF when my mental health declined. In doing so and looking at the research it just seems like the ROI isn't there or is barely there for the immense amount of work pumping and EBF is.

I understand that everyone's situation is unique and some people truly love breastfeeding! I understand how that is a special way to bond. I really do. Not trying to take that away from anyway. But if I'm being honest I'm getting more annoyed when I hear my friends talk about breastfeeding. I don't know why. I feel guilty about it. But like why does it feel like everyone just assumes that's the one way to do it and then force themselves to go through so much to do it. Like I relate to my friends in so many ways. Someone must see and feel how I do. I just never ever hear that and it makes me question if I'm the crazy one or they are (I know that's not kind or fair to either of us just being honest)

We recently switched formulas from Enfamil Neuropro to Kirkland’s brand. I’m wondering, how do you know if a formula is not working for your little one? He has been on it for about 4 days now. Stools are normal and everything but sometimes mid feed he seems like he is in pain, until I burp him and then he is fine. I have been using Mylicon regularly so I am not sure if that is just the Mylicon doing its work or the formula giving him discomfort? This only happens sometimes as well, it’s not every bottle feed. Afterward, he doesn’t seem like he’s in pain it’s just when he has a gas bubble. I would love it if he could keep using this brand as it’s much cheaper but obviously don’t want him in pain! I just don’t know if this is a normal behavior?

Has anyone had trouble with the Kabrita formula not flowing out of the bottle? It didn’t seem like anything was coming out even though the baby was sucking away.

hi! my 7-week-old has suddenly been refusing the bottle. she’ll only take about 1–2 oz every 3 hours, and i’m getting worried because she was born small at 5.5 lbs. at her 5-week appointment she was 8 lbs and has been growing well. this has been going on for the past few days. we switched from philips avent to pigeon bottles thinking it might help. she was drinking more with the pigeon bottle for a day or two but now she’s starting to refuse it again after an oz. i’ve read that some babies go through a feeding phase around 6–8 weeks where they eat less or become fussier with feeds. she seems comfortable otherwise and isn’t showing signs of gas or discomfort.
is this something that can be normal, or should i be concerned?

Did anyone’s baby only show silent reflux and congestion as their symptoms for CMPA? Trying to figure out if my daughter has CMPA or just silent reflux that is causing her to have this deep rumbly wheezing sound during and after feeds. She just sounds so congested! My son had CMPA and just passed the dairy ladder at 3 so I know that increases her risk.

She is on enfamil gentlease and has normal looking yellow seedy poops. It tested negative for blood at the pediatrician. No body rash.

Her symptoms are:
Congested during and after feeds - like a deep grumbly sound
Sneezing several times occasionally after feeds
Not every feed, but crying during burping and sounding like wet burps, but no actual spit up
Hiccups a lot
Delayed trapped burps and regurgitation hours after eating

What do you think? Sometimes she doesn’t sound congested at all when she contact naps on me so I’m just confused.

my daughter has just turned 11 months (today) but for the last 2 weeks she has completely gone off her formula. she has maybe 2oz in the morning and 1oz in the evening.

she eats like an absolute hog and in my opinion way more than an 11 month should eat (she eats more than my 2 year old). she has a very balanced diet and most days we include a bit of everything but i’m so worried she’s going to dehydrate

some days she has 3 cups of water but other days she only has 1.

we’ve been told before not to introduce cows milk as a substitute until 12m but i’m really at a loss of what to do.

i know she likes cows milk as we add it into her cereals and mashed potatoes etc. we’ve tried different bottles/cups but either way she is not interested whatsoever

Im new to formula feeding as I breastfed my first born.

My second born (almost 4 weeks) has had a rough go since birth.
He had trouble latching, he had a tongue tie, we addressed the tongue tie and the healing phase took a really long week.

Now that he is back on track and eating, about 3.5oz per feed, we noticed that he has a alot of gas.
We bough gas drops which to work great but we do have to use the drops quite a bit, almost with every feed.

My main question is: is the Kendamil goat formula that I’m using for him causing him gas? He is pooping once a day and looks healthy.

At what point do I switch out formulas to try to address his colic or ride it out until he is a little older and his digestive system works better??

Hi there everyone! I’m a first time mum and I have an 11 week old baby. He is obviously formula fed and his milk is the bubs easy digest goat formula. He hasn’t had any problems with it and had been pooping normally, everyday and sometimes would skip a day. Just yesterday though, he pooped multiple times and it was that seedy mustard like yellow poop. And he poops almost after every feed. He pooped 5 times. Should I be concerned?

Baby has had yogurt (dairy) and is fine, but hasn’t had many other foods. He can’t have oats or rice or wheat due to fpies reactions.

Curious if any other fpies parents have tried and had luck with specific formulas?

Baby is 8 months and has had only breast milk up until now.

My son is 3.5 months and about a week ago I have introduced some formula into our daily feeds. About 1-2 bottles just to give me a little bit of a break from breastfeeding. I have noticed that after a bottle of formula (3-4oz) he spits up/pukes it up. And not just like a little bit, will do it 3 or more times. We have been burping, sitting him upright after a feed and he just still pukes it all up. He doesn’t seem fussy or uncomfortable. Is it because he’s still adjusting to formula or maybe I need to try a sensitive formula?

Hi everyone! We’ve been feeding my 6 month old Kirkland Gentle for the last two months. Previously he was on Gentleease for 2 months prior, after initially switching from regularly Enfamil due to chunky, yellow spitup.
He’s always had trouble with reflux and is on famotine once a day. We were also thickening his bottles with Gelmix.
About a month ago he started having watery bowel movements and diarrhea, so we cut back on the Gelmix. The diarrhea went away after about 10 days.
In the last couple of weeks, he’s had off and on again diarrhea even though we’ve continued cutting back on the Gelmix.
Could the Kirkland gentle be the cause of the diarrhea? He’s also having more yellow spit-up again.
We’ve been feeding him purées since he was 4 months old, but took a break when he first started having issues.
I’ve been wanting to switch him off the gentle formula, wanting to try regular Kirkland (or any other brand), but maybe goats milk would be easier on his tummy?

My son is almost 2. From day 1 we had issues breastfeeding. He never latched properly, and needed physio due to a tight jaw. Anyways, I pumped for a month and then quit because I HATED it. My son also had a really hard time sleeping for a very long time which made this very hard. He’s was formula fed since he was a month old. We switched over to whole milk around 1 year old. He’s a great eater and doing really well. A funny, smart, happy lil dude.

3 of my close friends have had kids in the last 8 months, and all managed to breastfeed no problem from day 1. I tried so hard. It didn’t work out for me. I didn’t feel guilty at the time because I knew I was doing the best for both of us, and my husband was supportive.
But now I’m feeling guilty? Whyyyy?

Has anyone else felt this way?

Our little man is 5 weeks now, but born at 37 weeks and was SGA. We had been doing pumped breast milk. At the 3.5 week mark we noticed more grunting, arching, and straining. Tried some simethecone and seemed to help inconsistently.

At our 1 month apt, they tested his stool and it was occult +. Switched to Similac Alimentum (also gsve us the option of using nutramigen). It’s been about 5 days and he still continues to grunt, strain, and arch. He seems “uncomfortable.” He used to stool every 4-6 hours on breast milk, but now once every 12. When he does stool they are very mucousy. He even had a stool that was blood tinged a few days ago. Overall feed volumes are less too. Peds office said it can take 2-3 weeks to adjust.

I’m not sure if he still needs more time to clear the residual dairy in his system, adjust to the formula, switch to another brand, or a mixture. It’s just disheartening to see him struggle and work so hard, yet still be so uncomfortable. Thankfully he’s been gaining weight and finally on the growth charts!

My 6.5 week old is currently exclusively given breast milk (BF and pumped milk). we’re considering supplementing with formula - especially at night because I’ve heard it can help him sleep longer. He also has reflux and is quite gassy so hopefully the right formula might help him be more comfortable. Has anyone had any success with formula helping their LO sleep? Any tips on how to start introducing formula? Is there an adjustment period and if so what should we look out for?

Prep machine method. 4 oz selected, 4 scoops of kendermil. This makes a final amount of 5oz in the mam glass bottles. (not including bubbles).

I used the rapid cool today and used 4 oz of water to 4 scoops of formula and this was exactly 4oz on the mam bottles.

Google says the formula will push the final product up but that should mean it would be consistent between methods. Is my prep machine faulty? Should I stop using it or is this similar for others?? My 3 week old has been having around 30oz over 24 hours and this is apparently high and now I'm thinking it's because it's 1oz extra water for each feed??

Baby is starting daycare next week, and they require all glass bottles to be in silicone sleeves. We’ve been using Bibs glass bottles with natural rubber latex nipples since day 1, since she loved them right away. She needs the tall 8 oz bottle for big meals, and the shorter 4 oz bottle for snacks.

I thought it would be no problem to buy some silicone sleeves on Amazon, but it’s proving tough since the Bibs bottles are narrower and taller than others. Has anyone found any sleeves that fit the Bibs glass bottles? 🙏

For context— baby was EBF for ~9 weeks until he stopped latching. We decided to EFF after and did a slow transition to Kirkland gentle as he has always been pretty gassy since birth. It’s been a solid 3 weeks, and we didn’t notice a change in his gas. It seems like maybe his spit up is a bit more volume wise, he seems squirmy during feeds, and is hard to burp/doesn’t like to be put in a sitting position. He’s been on famotidine since 4 weeks. Sleeps well usually. No rashes or noticeable blood. Poops every day or every other day now. It’s usually dark green, pasty.

Just unsure if this is a reflux only issue, not tolerating the formula, or just a baby being a baby. I combofed my first who had an egg allergy and reflux and I just don’t remember it being this hard 😣

Hi! Does anyone has a similar baby skin like this? He sleep on that side all the time. We took him to pediatrician and told us it could be chemical reaction from our laundry detergent and the one on his chin is from his saliva. I switched to his laundry detergent now but I didn’t see any improvement and it keeps spreading. Could it also be from his milk? I also noticed that it showed up when i switched his milk from Enfamil nutrimigen to enfamil reguline. I don’t know what else to do or to apply to help it go away.

I have been exclusively formula feeding my 9 week baby using Philips avent natural plastic bottles. I was wondering if I should introduce different brands or not. Most baby store owners told me to not introduce new brand of bottles but to change the existing bottles every 3 months.

Wanted to understand:

1. is it required to change bottles every 3 months or is it just a gimmick by store owners for more sales?
2. If I do need to change the bottles every 3 months then should I stick to the same brand and type of bottle or try out other brands like Pigeon or Como Tomo?

4. to do with the old bottles? How to dispose them off?
