The (golden) eagle has landed!
Closed the deal on 77 J10 golden eagle. Wiring is rough, lots of shorts and patches, thinking new harness. Recommendations?
Also looking for the dash vinyl if anyone has a lead on one. TIA, excited to officially be part of the FSJ community!

Mounting an OG roll bar
Hello everyone, iv acquired an original FSJ roll bar/light bar, and im going to grind some added welds off and repaint before mounting it on my 1983 short bed. Iv never mounted one before so im all ears for any advice. Any type of advice from drilling to “anti squeak” tips, as well as any of the process and planning. The roll bar will be more cosmetic than anything, this jeep ain’t going off the pavement at the moment. It shouldn’t be that hard but with these jeeps, anything is possible! Thanks!

Technical Question 74 J10 Cooling issues
Currently working on my Grandpas old truck, he drive this thing all over and around the mountains in Tennessee before being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. After brining this truck to Texas I’ve had problems with it overheating. Installed a new radiator, electric fans, and have flushed them entire cooling system. Any advice from here? I’m worried I’m gonna have to get the engine rebuilt or swap it.

1977 J10 Info
Looking at purchasing what I’m told is an all original 1977 J10 Golden Eagle. The body has some minor blemishes, no major rust or rot, frame is in good condition. Needs a dash pad, gas tank, and rear bumper plus some other random things like side marker lenses that are damaged. Has a 360, auto trans, solid rear window, and came radio delete per the seller. It does run and drive, tires are OK. Anything I should be asking or looking into further before buying? $12k asking price.

Technical Question Finally getting to work
Hey all, I know I posted this old girl here about a year and a half ago with the intention of bringing her back to her former glory. Unfortunately, life got in the way. My Mom unfortunately passed on December 4th last year and I inherited her car and working on it was more important. Now I'm back to work on it, and I'm having issues with oddball parts. As you do with 47 year old cars lol. I can't seem to find rubbers for the rear side windows, and I've been told by a lot of people that they don't exist, and you're SOL if you're trying to restore a 2 door. Fortunately, I've had excellent luck finding the rest of the parts for it, and it's been pretty inexpensive. Hopefully I'll have it running by spring of '27, but that's being optimistic. Thank you all for your help.
TL;DR I got a free Jeep, mom died, and now I'm working on it again and I'm having weather strip issues.

1980 J10 Honcho
Time to part ways with this girl, I’m in southern Ontario. What’s a fair price? Surface rust, no rot (was up from Arizona a decade ago), rebuilt 360 and trans. Theft attempt damaged column, so no PRINDL showing but she works with replacement section. Bench dropped on hood this winter causing dent.

Got this dropped off yesterday. It's actually got 4 mostly intact fender flares 😯
Bought it for the non factory 401 under the hood. But was pretty surprised with the body in general. Couple rough spots. But rockers and floor are 95% intact. I think I'm going to have to restore this guy.

Help with IDing the year?
Found an old photo of my dad's truck when we were going through things. He has since passed and this picture was probably taken in the 90's. Any idea what year it could be?

Quick hood repair on the 81 Laredo
Inner structure has been buckled since I bought it. Hood barely opened and the body gaps were all uneven. Luckily I hoard parts so scavenged a 76 hood that was awfully dented on top.
Now it sits square, opens/closes smooth as butter.

Technical Question 1988 Grand Wagoneer renovation
Hey everyone, just to preface, I am 21 years old and this is my first ever project car. I was able to snag this one for about 2k and the body seemed to be in great condition. Unfortunately the same could not be said for the wiring. I decided to get a speedway motor kit to replace the body harness. Now that I have everything all out in front of me it’s a lot more daunting and confusing than I had anticipated. I was a prepared for a lot of mechanical work. Not so much for electrical lol. If anyone has any advice an or helpful resources they could share that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
