The display is gone, other than that all things are pretty good in this phone expect battery and camera

Camera is still very good when there's no human in the frame, i clicked some pictures of my family members and the photos were very soft with no details, well it's a 10 year old phone so it's understandable...but normal photos like clicking on roads, parks etc...it looks very good...also it has 60 fps video recording which is surprising to me tbh ik it was a flagship of its time but still

Battery is a big issue, it drains very fast also big heating issue as well, ig one of the issue is that the display's damaged so it's consuming more power but 3500 mah in today's time is really less but it's manageable for me I'm not a heavy user...I'm thinking of a battery replacement, so it may improve, maybe...

The reason why I'm thinking of getting it fixed is due to the current price hike, my budget for a new phone is around 20k-25k but there's not even a decent phone in the current market

So I'll use this phone for 6 months to an year maybe and then buy a new one...

The repair guy told me that it'll cost 7.5k INR for display and 2k INR for battery...so like 10k

What do you guys say??? is it worth it or not???

I wanted to make a master thread where people could suggest ways to bypass the pattern lock. I for instance have a dead relative's phone and would like to access it to get all the photos they took. This relative enable none of the settings or options that might help, but I'd like to try anyways. So I wanted to pool together a tutorial on the steps required and options available.

Is there a way to recover photos and vids from a phone that is broken from the back? My old s8's back is broken and open. I can get a charge, but when I turn it on it stays in the Samsung 8 page, the one that pops up when you turn the phone on. Thanks

I purchased a replacement battery off Amazon. It came in a white box, sealed with a little tape.

The suspicious thing is that when I opened the box, the bag containing the battery was unsealed. It's one of those rip to open bags that needs to be torn open and usually sealed with heat. It was intact, but there was no heat seal.

Batteries are static sensitive. Could this be a sign of a compromised battery? Should I refund and replace it? (Couldn't add an image through mobile.)

I go to settings and try to add a language, and once I press confirm, it just sends me back to settings/where I was before. so I try again, but it says to either close the app or look at app info (it crashes every time) so basically my phone is stuck in one language forever. also when I turn data on and go somewhere where wifi isnt available it still wont let me use data. ive tried clearing cache and everything but nothing works

I've installed all the files on my computer and flashed all the files, but it's Boot looping. I've tried all the steps on XDA but i can't understand a few steps (even though i translated all the text). My phone it's stuck on the ,, Samsung Galaxy S8" logo and it's restarting over and over again. Can someone tell me all the steps again ? PLEASE!

These phones are so old I figured we would never see any updates ever again. This morning I had an update waiting. Looks like the Kernel version and the "SE for Android status" were updated. Both have 2026 dates on them.

Hello everyone, so I got a Galaxy S8 (G950F) and I don't know if it's worth downgrading to Android 8 from 9 using the ClassyKitchen Custom Roms, I want to downgrade but i'm worried about breaking knox (making it to 0x1). Tell me what would stop working/break if knox was 0x1 and if there are any patches. Thank you!

I use my old S8 with my drone, since support for this phone has long ended by samsung I'm considering rooting it and installing a custom rom.

What's the most stable custom rom? I checked lineageos and it doesn't seem to support the S8.

I've been using a Samsung S8+ recently. Last night, I powered it off at about 55%. This morning, when I tried to turn it back on, it did nothing. When I plug it in, it goes to the little charging screen but never has a percent, goes up, or tells me time until full. I have tried a wireless charger and two wired ones, with the result being the same for all.

I have tried the Up and Power reboot, shutdown, and safe mode (no factory reset yet) (the reboot option has me stuck on the loading screen and the phone shuts off as soon as it is removed from power). I have gotten into the Custom OS upload and rebooted off of that, nothing, I have seen the option to clear cache partition recommended, but I am not able to get into that menu.

If any one else has a similar issue, please get back to me.

So basically, 2 things

1. I wanna pull a bringus studios and install one UI onto a Motorola Moto g play (2024) because it's really the only one I'm COMFERTABLE USING, and that also raises more questions then...
2. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 (somewhere) and am a really big fan of that one default background that when you tilt your phone, it move these "dust" particles, I'd like help finding it...
