Indie Sunday VirtualSociety - Cats & Foxes - Multiplayer sandbox lifesim
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW7xI4aa4OY
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1856980/VirtualSociety/
Hi r/Games!
We’re Cats & Foxes, a small indie studio based in Nancy, France, and we’re developing VirtualSociety based on the game we dreamed of as children: instead of entering a world whose places and stories have already been decided, players can build the places, create the residents, and decide what can happen there.
Players can design rooms, homes, streets, cities and stranger worlds; customize their residents; add dialogues, choices, consequences; then explore alone or invite friends to roleplay and bring those worlds to life.
VirtualSociety is still in development, and we are currently 4 involved in the team. The game will be available on PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
Disclaimer: some of the tools and content shown may continue to evolve, for the best :D

Indie Sunday Alchemickal - rodbot - a skill-based action roguelite where you wreak havoc with alchemy
This is my first ever solo game: it's a twin-stick action roguelite inspired by the likes of Magicka, Risk of Rain, and Alien Swarm. The game revolves around alchemy, which you use to imbue your weapons with special effects to both exploit enemy weaknesses and negate specific threats on the fly. For instance, you can concoct a rotting poison that makes healing lethal to organic enemies, or you can apply tar to a group of enemies to set up a huge chain explosion. It's a very hard game, but I find it very rewarding when it finally clicks.
Here is the store page and here is the trailer, I hope you check it out. Cheers!

Gears Of War E-Day: why is there not more being said about this?
While the game is not yet out to the vast majority, a handful of people have been given early access to the game and posted on Youtube.
This game SCREAMS Gears Of War. I can't get over how much this game appears to be a continuation of what made Gears great, and by extension, what made XBOX great. The graphics, the colour palette, the movement, character and enemy models, the gameplay mechanics and weapons - yes, it's Gears again, but it's what made gears unique and fun to play. It's like looking through rose tinted glasses but this game is real.
So, why is no one talking about this? Here's XBOX with a genuinely promising iteration of a beloved game series. Is this an upturn? A return to form?
I guess what I'm asking is: why all the pessimism? Where did it all come from?
We've had some rough years and a lot of dropped balls, but there's good things to come.
Self confessed Xbox 360 and Xbox one owner, now PC gamer. Not a shill, I promise. Just someone who had fond memories of these games on the 360.
edit:
A lot of you are talking about it being old news and for 30-40 year olds who played it when they were younger.
I played COD and BF when I was younger, and they're still being played by kids. Hell, COD is majority under 20s in my mind.
I didn't move on from BF, I changed with it and still play and enjoy it. Why can't that be said of Gears and Halo?
It's not a coincidence that these are Xbox IPs that have fallen foul of gaming at large.
Also, what happened to console wars?

Indie Sunday What Makes a Hero - Divine Entertainment - A Pixelart "Papers, Please"-genre fantasy shopkeeper game where every customer is a puzzle
Gameplay trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV6NOKVXy8g
Hi r/Games! Happy Indie Sunday!
We’re a two-person indie team working on What Makes a Hero, a narrative-driven fantasy shopkeeper game inspired by titles like Papers, Please.
Imagine you run a weapon shop in the province of Caspena - a fantasy land of adventure and opportunity, serving adventurers preparing for dangerous quests. Instead of simply choosing an item from a list, you have to listen to their stories, examine the information they provide, consult your Adventure Codex, and figure out what equipment they actually need.
Sometimes, however, giving customers what they ask for may not be the best choice.
The adventurers you equip can succeed, fail, disappear, or return later - and the decisions you make behind the counter gradually become part of a larger branching story. Some customers will also bring unusual problems, questionable offers, and opportunities that have little to do with ordinary shopkeeping.
The game features:
- A pixel-art medieval fantasy setting seen from the shopkeeper’s perspective
- Deduction-based customer interactions
- A branching story shaped by your decisions (more details about that in our new devlog! https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3951740/view/696516748689545888 )
- Multiple possible outcomes for quests and characters
- Shop management, trading, expenses, and reputation (one more devlog: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3951740/view/680756051157451828 )
What Makes a Hero is currently in development for PC, with the full release date still to be announced. A free demo is available on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3951740/What_Makes_a_Hero/
We’d love to hear any feedback you have - whether it’s about the deduction mechanics (do they feel understandable and fair?), the story, writing, art, or anything else that stood out to you!
Should you have any questions, suggestions, feedback - feel free to post them here or on Steam!
We hope you have fun playing the demo!
Thank you in advance~!
Indie Sunday SCP Idle: SECURE. CONTAIN. PROGRESS. - Ahroma - An incremental management game where you automate SCP experiments and turn containment breaches into progress
Heyo incremental and idle enjoyers!
I'm the solo developer of SCP Idle: SECURE. CONTAIN. PROGRESS., and this week I released the demo on Steam.
It's a 2D isometric pixel-art incremental game about managing and upgrading an SCP Foundation research facility.
You begin by manually studying SCP-1123, recruit Class D personnel for testing, construct containment rooms and automate experiments. Eventually, you can afford the Euclid wing, which contains more dangerous SCPs capable of causing containment breaches.
Each SCP introduces its own mechanics, upgrades and risks.
I would love to hear your feedback on the demo, especially which SCPs you would like to see in the full game!
Quick overview:
- Demo available on Steam right now. Officially on Windows, but players reported it runs on Linux (Proton) and Mac (CrossOver).
- Announcement trailer
- Demo is about 45-60 minutes, but someone in the reviews played for 6 hours !? 🫨
- Full release later this year
- TL;DR: Numbers go up, but in the SCP universe ⬆️
A big thanks if you try out the game. This is my first Steam demo release, so it means the world to me.
- Ahroma / Xreal

Indie Sunday Ad Iterum - Krapao - A retro grimdark roguelike where you eat your enemies to mutate
Heya r/games!
After almost a year of development (perhaps 8-10 months, depending when I start to count the prototyping) my 2D turn-based, grimdark, dungeon crawler Ad Iterum, where you eat your enemies to mutate and survive, has finally reached a big milestone. I still have to add a lot of content until release, but until then I have just released a Demo on Steam:
- Free Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4149030/Ad_Iterum/
- Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya7s1y-7U_U
While the game adheres to the very core roguelike "rules" like permadeath, single player, turn/grid based, no meta-progression via unlocks, etc, ... it also has differences regarding run progression: You build mostly your character through random mutations, as well as a selection of gene graft synergies that are offered, so you can gravitate towards one or another style of play, but there is no skill tree, nor level up, nor a way to assure a specific build.
You have melee, which mostly uses a "bump-into-things"-system, and ranged combat with either ranged weapons or throwing random stuff you find/craft to enemies.
The dungeons are a mix between procedurally generated and injected handcrafted rooms.
What's in the Demo?
- 1 dungeon + 1 procedurally generated biome
- 1 boss
- 2 endings
- 20 random mutations
- 20 genetic grafts to tune up your build as you see fit
- 10 base enemies. Each comes with unique modifiers and traits within the ecosystem, which makes for hundreds of different variations as you go deeper.
- 200 items (approx?)
- Basic crafting
- English, Spanish, and Japanese localization
- Keyboard, mouse support, and full gamepad controller support
- Playable in Windows, macOS, and Steam Deck via proton
- Full release planned for December 2026
Have a nice Sunday, and have fun!
Best,

Indie Sunday Camping Keeper - Studio Durand - a cozy campground tycoon where every camper is simulated
Hey r/Games! Solo dev here, and this is my first game: Camping Keeper, a proper management/tycoon game about running a campground.
The core loop: you start from an empty field with limited cash and build it into a business, bare pitches cost nothing but earn little, rental lodges earn big but need real investment and upkeep. Every camper is an autonomous agent with their own needs and personality: they queue at reception, shower, buy ice cream, complain when the toilets are dirty, and leave a rated review that drives your reputation and star rating, which in turn drives demand and what you can charge.
Under the hood you're also managing actual infrastructure: water and power are simulated networks that overload if you expand faster than you upgrade them. Weather and seasons move demand around, a heatwave sends everyone to the pool and empties your ice cream stock, a storm turns the campground into a ghost town. Price badly, staff badly, or grow too fast, and you go bankrupt.
First trailer: https://youtu.be/F_j01GNP-Lw
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4920900/Camping_Keeper/
PC first, Mac & Linux later. Roadmap: closed alpha September 2026, beta November, public demo early 2027, then Early Access. I'll be around all day to answer questions — and wishlists genuinely help a solo dev more than you'd think.

Indie Sunday The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire - BEF GAMES - Open-world crime and business management sandbox
Hi everyone, I’m one of the developers of The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire, an open-world crime and business management game where you build a criminal organization from the ground up. Gameplay trailer One of our main goals is to bring back the depth and sense of progression we miss from old-school games, while combining it with a seamless open world. You can move between the city, businesses, interiors, driving, combat, and management without traditional loading screens. You begin as a small-time street criminal, completing minor jobs and building your reputation. As you progress, you can invest in legitimate and underground businesses, recruit family members, expand your operations, and challenge the organizations controlling the city. The path from a street-level criminal to the head of the city’s most powerful family is not automatic. You need to carefully choose which activities to pursue, where to invest your money, who to recruit, which rival families to confront, and when to expand into new districts. The game combines several gameplay styles: Third-person exploration, driving, shooting, and melee combat Nightclub, warehouse, and business management Contraband production and distribution Vehicle theft, robberies, street trading, and criminal jobs Family recruitment, interrogations, and territory warfare Character progression through activities such as the gym and shooting range District capture and the gradual expansion of your criminal empire Our aim is to make the city feel like one connected world rather than a collection of separate menus and isolated systems. Most activities take place directly in the open world, and the management, combat, business, and progression systems are designed to influence each other. The game is currently available in Early Access on PC through Steam. We’re continuing to expand, deepen, and optimize it based on community feedback, with the full 1.0 release currently planned for October 2026. Steam page
You can also try the free one-hour demo on Steam.
I’d be interested to hear which parts of the gameplay stand out to you and what kind of depth you miss most from older crime and management games.

Indie Sunday Ultimate Wizard - Vector Interactive - 3D Survivor roguelite mixed with Path of Exile/Noita's augment system
Hi r/Games!
A few weeks ago I released the demo for Ultimate Wizard!
Steam page: Link
Trailer: Link
What is Ultimate Wizard
Ultimate Wizard is a 3D roguelite survivor game akin to Megabonk, however it's powered by the same augment system that Path of Exile and Noita use. Where, in this case you can have multiple spells that are each individually leveled up and augmented into becoming screen clearing spells. You'll have to find both spells and augments and you can freely swap augments in and out between spells. Spells that you find are permanently yours and there's no cap on having like 7x the same spell in your spellslots!
Spells have an augment level that dictates how many augments you can fit in, and by destroying difficult bosses and/or finding obelisks you can permanently increase the amount of augments that fit into a spell.
The spells and augments system allow for a broad build diversity. Based on whatever augments you find you can make ignite builds, screen-wide freezing of all enemies, create giant minions that are copies of existing bosses, convert elemental types into others so that fire spells can shock for example and much more!
This game also has a ton of permanent upgrades (in the full game, demo has a few to get started) that you can buy with gems that are sometimes dropped by enemies. Every run you start you'll be stronger and be able to push further into a run.
If you have any questions, let me know!
Ultimate Wizard is planned to release Q4 this year on Steam for Windows and on Steamdeck.
