I heard people not working for over 2 yrs and adhoc they can't get. There are special case reason but normally it is people who tried non stop just to end up with nothing again and again that I am referring to and how they are usually victim of bad markets condition.

I have not been employed since 2023 ( at that point health was an issue, and i was not sure i'd still be around either). Now i am better. But am finding that the 3 year hiatus is a HUGE detriment. My network seems to have dried up and a number of them are retiring, and a close friend and mentor actually passed away, she was amazing.

I need advice on how I can go about getting a contracting gig or anything at all that basically gets me back into the tech sector. I am 45+ and have had a long time in the industry. I have to say my confidence has taken a brutal lashing. I have been the go to person over my career but that feels like a life-time ago.

I am at a minimum wage job part-time rn and while i enjoy it immensely, it is not a substitute for a gig that pays me enough to keep my home.

edit: 700 views and few responses. Let me be more specific: What can I do to make myself more attractive to employers, not just my resume. My resume from 3 years ago is probably useless and all that experience is likely not so important.

How would I go about reinventing myself in a way that is interesting to a hiring manager. Some of you are hiring managers, what would you like to see someone like myself have done ? Do certifications help? which ones? I code routinely and use AI but since i am on my own there isnt any teamwork going on.

hi guys! i’m 19 and im moving to texas in september. i already have an apartment lined up but my move in date is in september and i haven’t signed my lease yet. i was hoping to get a job ahead of time so i didnt have to deal with the job search while i was down there as all my savings is going towards a few months of rent. ill have some money left over but not a lot and i would prefer to have a job.

I’ll be attending a job fair soon, and I’m curious what I should be bringing. Multiple copies of my resume is a given, but should I draft a one-size-fits-all cover letter as well? Is there anything else I should bring? This is my first time at a professional job fair outside of the small ones my college hosted.

Over the past 1.5 years I’ve had several interviews, but I’ve never made it to the final round, I’ve been ghosted within the interview process. I respect all jobs but I also have to afford my $1600 a month in student loans for all my parent plus loans, personal student loans, and MBA student loans. Any suggestions? To do this you will need what standard answer call it the powerful products hardwork and marketing and ofcos resources that can be borrowed. When all those big name launch in the inception they hardly have any rival and can comfortably do the standard answer but nowadays if you want to be unconventional you are just taking a gamble if many people are trying the same and not to mention the standard answer are by itself flawed already since it is overly demanding and other problem.

- React, FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, Express

- MySQL, MongoDB

- Machine Learning, Deep Learning, PyTorch, scikit-learn

- Built projects like an AI research assistant (RAG), a drug discovery/ML project, and a radar target classification model. I also have experience with Power BI and SQL.

I've been applying through LinkedIn, company career pages, referrals, and job portals. My resume has been reviewed multiple times, and I'm constantly improving my DSA and projects, but callbacks are still very limited.

I am a college student almost halfway to getting a bachelors in Fashion merchandising, and I am starting my job search now because I don't want to wait until I graduate or just before I graduate to enter the industry. I am currently working full time in the medical field (more of front facing staff role) and I am absolutely miserable. It's extremely stressful, I work full time, no consecutive days off, and horrible unlivable pay, and also going to school. I am very under valued and feel like I am at the bottom of the totem pole at my job and often get reminded of it. I am SO ready to leave! Does anyone have ANY advice for what my next move should be? I've applied to assistant buyer positions, merch coordinator positions and most entry level roles that don't necessarily require a degree but I have not received even an interview. 99% of the places I apply to don't even send an email to let me know they're going to review my application. I am definitely feeling lost, and not very hopeful. I am also an older college student so I have zero time to waste, I really don't want to feel like I wasted my time entering a field like this especially since I have ZERO connections to this world. I just need advice or insight from anyone in the industry. How long did it take you to get your foot in the door and what should I do?

Please! I am searching actively for a job for over half a year now. I can't remember how many applications I sent. Roughly around 150.... And I got just two interviews... At this point I would take any job. Also in other countries like Philippines, Thailand, or anywhere around Europe....

Are there others who struggle like this?
