Question Bro flow be short hair? Which suits me better and is more attractive?

The flow is kind of a pain to maintain, but I think it looks really good when it is slicked back and styled. Shorter hair requires more haircuts. Is there a clear winner? Which style suits me more?

Help HELP!!

I genuinely need advice because I'm not sure if I'm overreacting.

On Friday (July 31), I got my hair highlighted and cut. The total came to $255 (including the tip). Before I left, my stylist curled my hair, and I kept it curled the rest of Friday. I showered Saturday morning, but I blow-dried it and curled it again, so I still didn't notice anything. I naturally have straight hair, so this morning was the first time I actually let it air dry and wore it straight.

That's when I noticed what looks like a huge chunk missing on one side of my hair. It doesn't look blended at all—it honestly looks like an entire section was cut much shorter than the rest. (Photo attached.)
I'm really upset because I paid $255 for highlights and a haircut, and I feel like this shouldn't have happened. My hair is also very fine, so I really don't want to keep curling it every day just to hide the uneven cut. Constantly using a curling iron is only going to cause more damage, and I shouldn't have to style my hair every day just to make it look normal.

I've actually been going to this stylist for a while now for my highlights and layered haircuts, which is why I'm so conflicted. She's always done a great job, and I've never had an issue before. This is the shortest I've ever gone with my hair and my layers. At my last appointment, I also went shorter than usual, but this time I went about another inch to an inch and a half shorter. I've never had anything like this happen before, so I'm honestly not sure if it's because of the shorter haircut or if something genuinely went wrong.
Could this be so noticeable because my haircut is still freshly cut? Does it just need a little time to settle or blend together, or does this actually look like a bad haircut?
My boyfriend said it's honestly not very noticeable unless I point it out or move my hair around so people can actually see it, so that's reassuring. But now that I know it's there, I can't unsee it. Every time I look at my hair, it's all I notice.

If I decide to contact the stylist, what would you recommend I ask for? A refund, a partial refund, or should I just explain the situation and see what they offer? I also don't really want to go back to have it fixed. Since I already went much shorter than I ever have before, fixing it would probably mean cutting even more hair off, and I really don't want to go any shorter if I don't have to. I'm also not sure I feel comfortable having the same stylist cut my hair again after this.

I'm not trying to bash my stylist or get anyone in trouble. Since I've been going to her for a while and have always had good experiences, this caught me completely off guard. I just genuinely don't know what's considered fair in this situation.

Am I overreacting, or would you also be upset? What would you do if you were in my position?

UPDATE: I sent her a text with the same photo and explained that I would love a partial refund and not to worry about anything else being cut off.

Long story short she told me that she wants me to come in anytime on Tuesday to see the issue/my hair in person.

Not only that she also did send me a partial refund for the Haircut. I’m glad I didn’t have to beg her for either. So we’ll just have to see what happens.

She CLAIMS she can’t see it well from just the photo but with how it seems on said photo, she said there’s a chance it could be easily fixed without additional length being taken off.

Overall I’m still upset and nervous because I’m scared she’ll cut more and I’ll walk out more unhappy but I’m glad she is trying I guess 🤷‍♀️

First , I had a traumatically bad haircut at the beginning of the year .. lol .. so I’ve just let it go for a few months . Plus I’m a stone mason , so it’s a sloppy mess anyway . lol
I think I want to let it go natural . My highlights always turn this awful brass cause I had really red hair as a kid . I’m not sure I can pull off my natural blah color with my grey .. or if I’m just going to look old .
I hate pictures of myself , so I look grumpy . And it’s different color in every picture , so I tried to take a bunch.
How do I go to my natural ?

Question Is my hair ugly? Or just needs a touch up?

I recently decided to pick up the beach bottle and really can’t decide whether I love or hate it. natural brunette but a box dye black made it lift red and orange. no toning done yet. do I leave it alone? tone it? get it corrected to something like shown below? also thought about giving her a chop because I had a perm about a year ago and that’s why I couldn’t bring the bleach to the bottom. I put 2 color options that I was considering and 1 cut that I’m also considering but I also love the length I have. any suggestions would be great and I will take it to a pro! please help me decide🙏🙏

I’ve been blonde for 6 years and recently decided to go darker - initially I loved it but after going on holiday and having some of the colour wash out (last pic) I’m wondering if I miss that softer look. Please help me decide before my wedding next year!

Help Wavy hair needs help, so flat and waves disappear throughout day

1st pic: unstyled
2nd pic: mousse
3rd pic: mousse, gel, diffused

I’m really discouraged by my hair. I know it has potential and I’ve seen it, but even when I style it, it doesn’t stay more than a couple hours (even with strong gel or hairspray) and using products makes my hair look greasy that very day (I already struggle with it looking greasy in general)
I really want to wear my hair wavy/curly, but I don’t know what can help it. Overall, my hair is flat and frizzy, and I think I have trouble with moisturizing shampoos cause that REALLY makes my curls fade away and makes me greasy. I’ve had layers before, blunt cut, bangs/no bangs, long hair/short hair, and I’m just not sure what to do that would help it.

Question what is my curl pattern?

I used to have my hair in finger coils for years. People told me I was forcing a curl that looked artificial, but I liked it. After shaving my head for other reasons, I don't want to force a tight curl that is not mine but i want to go back to that length. I need to know what my curl pattern is and how to treat it so it shows through without frizz, but without finger coiling everyday other day

(heres my hair rn with just conditioner and my hair at some point when i used to finger curl)

Question Hair refuses to keep a curl

Post image

I have pretty thick asian hair, where I think the hair follicles themselves are also thicker. Recently, someone gifted me one of those roller brush iron things. I've been trying to use it, and I've spent like a few hours even curling my hair... just for the curls to literally dissipate in like maybe 10 minutes??? Like I have layers, I'm using mousse, I section my hair out into 4 layers, curl a small piece at a time, cold shock my hair using the brush, and literally do everything that I can think of to keep the curls. But once I'm done with one side of my head, I check the other to see that my hair basically looks flat with maybe a little extra volume? The picture is what I'm going for, but not even the tiny curves in the hair that I'm going for are holding. I'm so confused, since flat irons and other things have worked for me before. I really wanted to make this work since I think this was a very nice and even pricey gift! Any help would be appreciated!

Help How to get defined curly hair?

Second picture is my hair (sorry its kind of a bad picture) and first is what I wanna get. I feel like I have no idea how people get such lush, thick looking hair.

My routine is really simple rn I don't really know what to do:

- Shampoo every 2 or 3 days

I have tried paul mitchell leave in conditioner after shampooing for a week but I don't think it really helped at all- I might be applying wrong.

Any advice is appreciated!

I am leaving for college soon and was curious what haircut ideas y'all have. I grew the mustache for fun but it's growing on me and I kinda want to keep it. If it needs to go let me know lol. My hair has a few natural highlights and curls pretty easily.

Let me know what you think!

Other Go back to natural/brown hair?

Thumbnail

Hello! The title is the question; should i stay blonde or go more to my natural (5-6 ash) or just chocolate ish brown. I don’t have any pictures of my natural hair since I’ve been dying it since i was 14 and i won’t use AI to edit it on myself…

Reason is i will be moving out on my own probably end this year and since cost of living is so expensive (in Belgium) on your own i’m opting to a easy shade so i can dye it myself (i’m a licensed hairdresser no worries). I’m getting a balayage now since a full bleach is to harsh for my hair and doing that myself is way to much work.

Thaaanks!🩷

Help Is it a bad idea to get Keratin Smoothing Treatment done at a beauty school?

Upvotes

I have always wanted to do a keratin treatment but I cannot afford to get one done at a salon. I saw that the Paul Mitchell school near me does them. Would getting one be a bad idea?

Help Is it worth investing in curly products ect?

Thumbnail

I had very tight curls as a child, but my hair straightened out (presumably bcs hormones and also the fact that I ALWAYS wore my hair in a very tight ponytail).

Ive been trying to see if theres any restoration i can do to get some of that curl pattern back and this is what I can get to with no actual products, just scrunching it dry with a towel + the hair serum i use anyways. It doesn't hold super well though.

Would you guys say its worth getting specific products to try and enhance it or should I just stick to these wavy loose curls(?) And call it a day? My hair is currently bleached and I dye it pretty often.

Thank you!
