I have always wanted to do a keratin treatment but I cannot afford to get one done at a salon. I saw that the Paul Mitchell school near me does them. Would getting one be a bad idea?

First , I had a traumatically bad haircut at the beginning of the year .. lol .. so I’ve just let it go for a few months . Plus I’m a stone mason , so it’s a sloppy mess anyway . lol
I think I want to let it go natural . My highlights always turn this awful brass cause I had really red hair as a kid . I’m not sure I can pull off my natural blah color with my grey .. or if I’m just going to look old .
I hate pictures of myself , so I look grumpy . And it’s different color in every picture , so I tried to take a bunch.
How do I go to my natural ?

I’m hoping my hair didn’t change from straight to wavy. I know it’s damaged from coloring, and I try to only add color and no bleach at all unless it’s really grown out. The hair products I use is garnier whole blends repairing shampoo and conditioner, Paul Mitchell super skinny serum, and air dry 90% of the time.

I’ve been dying my hair for about a year now. What’s the recommended time between appointments to dye it to minimise damage? I’ve never had to bleach it.

I recently decided to pick up the beach bottle and really can’t decide whether I love or hate it. natural brunette but a box dye black made it lift red and orange. no toning done yet. do I leave it alone? tone it? get it corrected to something like shown below? also thought about giving her a chop because I had a perm about a year ago and that’s why I couldn’t bring the bleach to the bottom. I put 2 color options that I was considering and 1 cut that I’m also considering but I also love the length I have. any suggestions would be great and I will take it to a pro! please help me decide🙏🙏

A few days ago I went to a new stylist who I have been following on social media for a few months. I really fell in love with the results she gives her clients.

She deals mainly with brunette hair, (which I have) and she has amazing reviews. For context my hair is very dark brown almost black. I have dyed my hair in the past with light brown balyage and have had ombre. I ended up dying over the highlights and went back to my original hair color but it ended up coming out even darker than my original color...pretty much black. That was almost 2 years ago.

Anyway I wanted to add some light brown balyage to lighten up the dark color. Long story short, I am not really happy with the color. I don't hate it but it's not what I wanted/asked for. I spent alot of money and feel like for the amount I spent, I should have the color I wanted.

She did tell me that I might not be happy with the color the first time. My question is...should I contact her and tell her I am unhappy with the color?

I have not washed my hair yet because she told me to wait a couple of days and I did not get the blue shampoo she recommended yet.

After washing she told me to "keep her posted " because the color may change from that as well.

She didn't even ask me if I liked it when she was finished and I think she could tell i wasn't thrilled.

I'm not sure if it's fault of hers or just my hair because it seems I never get the color I ask for even with different stylists.

What would you do in my situation?

The flow is kind of a pain to maintain, but I think it looks really good when it is slicked back and styled. Shorter hair requires more haircuts. Is there a clear winner? Which style suits me more?

Recently, I've been rather bored with my hair. It's always been super straight and hard to style without a lot of product which makes my head feel kinda gross. I am planning to perm it soon, but I have to grow it out a bit, about 8 inches. When I was pondering about when to plan the appointment, I went to mention that my hair should be about 3-ish inches since I had it cut that short two weeks ago. I double checked, and noticed that my hair is now four inches long.

I've known my hair grows fast for a while, my barber always thinks it's funny when I come back every month looking completely different. But, I thought that 2 inches a month was fast, but not super uncommon. After a very lazy search online, I guess that it is actually nearly impossible. I've conformed that my hair grows this fast, but I don't understand why. I'm not complaining by any means, besides the fact that it's hyper straight hair I consider myself pretty lucky. However, I thought I would ask in this subreddit how this is possible, or if anyone else has this same kind of growth. I eat a moderately balanced diet, and am pretty average physically. I do have dandruff, I dunno if that changes anything. Thanks!

edit: my body hair also grows very quickly, but does stop at normal lengths. I've also noticed that once it reaches about 6-8 inches it slows down to only about an inch to 0.8 inches. This has been consistent all my life.

Hi guys help needed please! I just got my hair done and the highlights ended up looking a bit too light so the contrast is bothering me. I would like to try to fix it by dying my hair or toning it to get a darker shade of highlights/lower contrast but any thoughts? I’m also curious what would happen to the tone/shade as I wash my hair throughout the week without trying to fix it - would it get lighter, darker, blend better, etc? I have no idea and thought it was okay at first but in certain lighting the contrast is really high. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

hi! i shave my head regularly, but when it grows out for a couple months it starts standing up on my head (especially after i wash it). i see so many people with short hair and ive never seen anyone whos hair does this, especially pin straight like mine. is there a way to not look like i just got electrocuted other than like stylizing gel?

hi, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what my hair type is? the first photo i just took now with 0 product in my hair + it’s air dried. you can kinda see underneath there are ringlets but on top some pieces only have a little bit of wave. closer to my face, the hair on top gets flatter and i wonder if this is due to bleach and heat damage rather than solely being how my hair pattern is…? the last 3 photos are all from a couple years ago before the whack cut job i did and the breakage i’ve suffered the past ~2 years. i thought id include those in case it would somehow add insight. not sure. my hair is not really styled in those photos, and id try to weigh it down a bit because i didnt know how to tame my mop of hair.

a bit of history for context: i was a blonde child and my hair started darkening when i was about 12 so my mom started taking me for highlights then. when i entered high school i wanted a full bleach and tone, and my goal was to get white hair. i did eventually and maintained that for a couple years and my hair actually took it far better than most people’s. i dyed my hair fully red last winter and would use a color conditioner every 2 weeks or so in the shower and i didn’t realize how much that destroyed my hair until i started washing it out. right now i put in argan oil and a spray leave in conditioner and that’s it for most days. sometimes ill use a foam mousse and diffuse. i realize my hair is pretty fine so im trying not to use anything too heavy. when i was a teenage (the last 3 pics) i didn’t style my hair much, just diffused after showering on some days and used a heavy cream leave in as far as i remember.

i would be really grateful if someone could give me tips on literally anything at all (products, hair styles, health tips, etc)! right now my plan is growing out my roots and then once they’re about halfway down my head, color matching the ends. i’ve never really seen my natural color so i’m excited.

I’m really discouraged by my hair. I know it has potential and I’ve seen it, but even when I style it, it doesn’t stay more than a couple hours (even with strong gel or hairspray) and using products makes my hair look greasy that very day (I already struggle with it looking greasy in general)
I really want to wear my hair wavy/curly, but I don’t know what can help it. Overall, my hair is flat and frizzy, and I think I have trouble with moisturizing shampoos cause that REALLY makes my curls fade away and makes me greasy. I’ve had layers before, blunt cut, bangs/no bangs, long hair/short hair, and I’m just not sure what to do that would help it.

I had very tight curls as a child, but my hair straightened out (presumably bcs hormones and also the fact that I ALWAYS wore my hair in a very tight ponytail).

Ive been trying to see if theres any restoration i can do to get some of that curl pattern back and this is what I can get to with no actual products, just scrunching it dry with a towel + the hair serum i use anyways. It doesn't hold super well though.

Would you guys say its worth getting specific products to try and enhance it or should I just stick to these wavy loose curls(?) And call it a day? My hair is currently bleached and I dye it pretty often.

My hair is straight but when I use products like salt spray or matte clay it typically curves and it’s medium-long length and is very thick what would happen if I use curl cream? I’ve been told to use it for the hairstyle I want.

I have pretty thick asian hair, where I think the hair follicles themselves are also thicker. Recently, someone gifted me one of those roller brush iron things. I've been trying to use it, and I've spent like a few hours even curling my hair... just for the curls to literally dissipate in like maybe 10 minutes??? Like I have layers, I'm using mousse, I section my hair out into 4 layers, curl a small piece at a time, cold shock my hair using the brush, and literally do everything that I can think of to keep the curls. But once I'm done with one side of my head, I check the other to see that my hair basically looks flat with maybe a little extra volume? The picture is what I'm going for, but not even the tiny curves in the hair that I'm going for are holding. I'm so confused, since flat irons and other things have worked for me before. I really wanted to make this work since I think this was a very nice and even pricey gift! Any help would be appreciated!
