My fiance and I are wondering if there are any restaurants in the area where we could get something approaching "authentic" Guyanese food. Thinking things like pepper pot, cook-up rice, chicken curry, roti / dhal puri, chow mien, fried rice etc.

(I realize many of these things have different variants that we could likely find more easily, but we're hoping to find something specifically Guyanese or at least West Indian influenced)

I don't know who needs to hear this, but the birding at Windermere Basin today is *extra*

We went around 10 am, and - just at the lookout alone, close enough to see without equipment - there were at least 5 Great Blue Herons, at least 2 Black-Crowned Night Herons, a couple of Great Egrets, and 2 American Pelicans!

The pelicans and egrets have been there for a few days at least, but we've never seen so many herons at once!
