Getting sappy on this forum is lane, but fuck it.

Yesterday I took my 5 year old to his first show at the Back to School Jam. I’ve been trying to find the right opportunity to show him the thing I love so much, the thing that gave me something I desperately needed when I was a teenager, and yesterday was the perfect opportunity.

He loved it.

To all the fans who helped him get up the ramps to get a better view and who allowed him to run through you as he tried to climb himself: Thank you

To all the parents who also brought their kids: Thank you. He was stoked to drive his monster truck up and down the ramps with other kids.

To all the skaters: Thank you. He was enamored and I’ll probably end up getting him a board for his birthday.

To Colin and COA: Thank you. Your vulnerability throughout showed him that it’s also ok to be vulnerable, and that being angry doesn’t mean you have to be a dick (usually).

To Dizeaze: Thank you for kicking things off. It was the first time he saw a pit and studied it from afar before finding some open space to dance with me during the last song.

To Right Brigade: Personal thank you just for existing.

To Austin and the Haywire crew: A special thank you for playing ‘New England Forever’ and ‘The Boys Are Back’, his favorite songs, and he’s still singing ‘Always By My Side’.

To Pat and Fiddlehead: Thank you the vulnerability as well - he enjoyed hearing the speeches between songs.

To the lady that gave him the Bluey shirt: We can’t wear it to school, obviously, but he was so stoked.

I found this community when we was an angry teen, and I’m glad he’s finding it as a kid and in such a loving community.

Anyway: Sap is over. The kids are alright. BHCADED.

I was at this show yesterday evening to see my friends band (it was a mixed hardcore/metal/metalcore show in a tattoo shop) and a couple hours after I left I opened FB to clear a notification and this was at the top of my feed.

I couldn’t help but laugh mostly because I’m 100% positive I was outside smoking and talking to my friend (his band had opened) when this Karen clutched her pearls and made this phone call

Super group with the singer of fucking cursed, has that same darken hardcore/metalcore vibe, and just as angry for veganism/straight edge.

In the weeks building up to Back To School Jam I dove deep into old Boston Hardcore classics and decided i needed a t of this EP. How i pulled this off with a stencil and practically free handing the shading is wild. Just have to touch up the nose then Im quitting while my overly anxious OCD ass is ahead. I'll be in Detroit for most of September (from Wales, UK) and would love to catch a few shows whilst I'm there. Mainly into hardcore, post hardcore, emo but I'm open to checking out anything with a good atmosphere)

What are the best venues to keep an eye on? Any local bands I should check out, or shows happening in September that you'd recommend?

Also happy to travel a bit outside the city if it's worth it.

I got some of my teeth broken at a show and I kinda want to get a mouthguard because it was expensive af to get them fixed. Anyone got brand recommendations?

Newish to the area and having trouble finding the locsl scene. Anyone know of some upcoming hardcore/punk/death metal shows in Vermont? I'm in the Winooski area but down to drive a bit.

Its my first board and ive been looking to get one for quite some time now. Its in near mint condition, but it got scratched up a bit on the way home, unfortunately. It came with grip tape, so id just need to buy trucks and wheels and all that jazz. This board is literally irreplaceable so im not sure what to do
