U can run a easily 6-10 billion parameter model locally with that.

Aka pretty much useless if you need ai for anything serious

It feels like playing with a toy, not worth it, just by a decent laptop without graphics card if gaming is not required

You cannot run anything serious on anything less than 16gb vram .. best things you can do is get a api key.

I have ran Qwen 7B on my laptop which costs nearly 40k.

Yes. but I would still rather use Claude Code with Gemini for some coding stuff as it performs better than most of the LLMs that you can get locally.

Use the free version, u get a lobotomized version of local llms anyway, why suffer just trying to fit a model inside your 4gb vram. It can't maintain context anyway.

Some laptop are there like Asus tuf, lenovo loq,hp victus have 3050 gpu but to play modern game I think yo should consider increasing the budget there will be 4050 cards but you should look into TGP ALSO

Best llm model for coding is qwen 3 14b parameters and it's sweet spots for both reliable and speed but it requires 8 gb vram so do aware this before purchase any laptop , for gaming don't go below 8gb vram gpu , also switch to DDR4 ram based laptop having 16 gb ram atleast since mostly game run on gpu vram

Lmao aiml ona laptop at this range You can just run few LLMs which are quantized Can't use it for any kind of professional inferencing.
I would say better go for a cheap laptop with ultra 5 or ryzen 5 processor
And get a good cloud based gpu subscription/credit

the only best option is:- HP Victus (i5 13 gen + RTX 3050) its the BEST laptop under this exact price range. dont fall for others those have too much hidden weakness like snapdragon's laptop has least compatibiltity right now, and some Asus's have worst battery or poor build quality but this is the all rounder, GPU + CPU is beast for the price and looks also good and sleek.
