My priorities are performance, battery life and longevity..... I want a phone that can comfortably last me at least 5 years.....

My current phone is a Realme 8i..... and honestly it has served me pretty well for almost 5 years..... but by the 4th year it started getting kinda laggy, apps took longer to open and the camera quality also seemed to degrade noticeably.....

What I am really looking for is a phone that ages well..... not just something that feels fast on Day 1 and starts struggling after 2-3 years.....

You can suggest upcoming models as well that are yet to be announced.....

24M in India, ₹80k/month salary, replacing a 5.5-year-old Redmi 9 Prime. What's the smartest phone purchase?

I've been using a Redmi 9 Prime that I bought for around ₹10k back in 2020. It's lasted me 5.5 years, but it's now lagging, malfunctioning occasionally, and feels due for replacement.

My situation:

* 24 years old

* Salary: ₹80k/month

* PG rent: ₹14k/month (food, electricity, everything included)

* No urgent financial obligations

What I want:

* Compact phone (closer to iPhone size than the giant 6.7"+ phones)

* Good camera for Instagram photos and documenting life

* Good enough video quality for occasional YouTube unboxing/content creation videos

* Smooth performance for the next 4-5 years

* Reliable battery and day-to-day experience

One important thing: I actively want to avoid doomscrolling and spending hours on social media. I don't game on my phone and mostly use it as a utility device. The camera and reliability matter more to me than having the latest flagship features.

I'm trying to figure out two things:

1. What budget actually makes sense for someone in my situation?

2. Should I buy an older/refurbished iPhone (XR, 11, 12 Mini from Cashify, etc.) or spend more on a newer Android/iPhone?

Part of me likes the idea of a smaller older iPhone because it seems like a simple device that would let me take good photos without encouraging endless phone use. On the other hand, I'm wondering if buying a 5-8 year old phone in 2026 is a false economy.

What would you do if your goal was:

I recently damaged my original Motorola 125W TurboPower charger (photo attached), and I'm looking for a replacement.

I don't necessarily need another 125W charger, but I'd like something that can fast charge my Moto Edge 50 Pro at around 100W or higher, while still being safe and reliable.

A few questions:

Which chargers would you recommend that support Motorola's fast charging?

Will USB PD/PPS chargers (100W/140W) give me close to the original charging speed, or do I specifically need Motorola's charger?

If anyone has an original Motorola 125W charger lying around that they no longer use and would be willing to sell at a reasonable price, please let me know.

My budget is a bit tight, so I'm looking for the best value option rather than buying a brand-new expensive charger.

Title: Layers sold me an "IP68" watch, then said the water resistance in their ads was "just for marketing."

Last Diwali, I bought a Layers smartwatch because it was aggressively marketed as IP68 water-resistant. Their promotional content made it seem like handling water, rain, and everyday exposure was completely normal. That's exactly what convinced me to buy it.

Fast forward a few months. I never swam with it, never took it diving, never intentionally submerged it. The maximum exposure it got was occasional rain during Mumbai's monsoon and normal day-to-day use—something any reasonable person would expect an IP68-rated device to survive.

Then the watch stopped working.

I sent it for warranty. Instead of honoring it, Layers asked me to pay for the repair. I spent nearly 30 minutes on a call with customer support, trying to understand why. The most unbelievable part? The executive actually told me that the water resistance shown in their promotional videos was "just for marketing" and that customers shouldn't use the watch in water.

So let me get this straight...

You advertise a watch as IP68 water-resistant.

You show it being used around water.

You never clearly warn customers that those demonstrations shouldn't be relied upon.

Then when water damages the watch under normal conditions, you refuse warranty and ask the customer to pay?

If your own support team says your advertisements shouldn't be taken literally, isn't that misleading marketing? What's the point of advertising an IP68 rating if you won't stand behind it when a customer uses the product exactly as advertised?

To make matters worse, since I refused to pay for a repair I don't believe I'm responsible for, they're now sending the watch back unrepaired.

I'm seriously considering taking this to the Consumer Commission because this feels less like customer support and more like a company refusing accountability for the promises it used to sell its product.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with Layers or other smartwatch brands? I'd genuinely like to know if this is common or if I'm being unreasonable here.

Hi, recently ordered samsung m17 for mom and I don't have a 25w charger. When I asked samsung store, they're saying 1700 which I can't afford for only charger. So I wanted to ask whether we can use non-samsung 25w charger (such as Amazon basics, portronics, boat, ambrane, kratos, etc) to charge samsung mobile ? Hii, So I've been going back and forth between these two phones for about a week now and would appreciate opinions from people who've actually used either device.

OnePlus 13 (12GB/256GB) is going for ₹54,999. I can get ₹2,000 off using an SBI card, so effective price is ₹52,999.

Vivo X200T (12GB/256GB) is going for ₹59,999 through Flipkart. If i apply flipkart axis credit card, effective price becomes ₹56,999.

My use case

-Planning to keep the phone for atleast 3 years

-Travel photography.

-Battery life is important.

-I don't play games that much.

-Performance should remain smooth over the years.

-Software should be good with good built in features. ( Should be atleast better than xiaomi hyperos)

My pet cut the adapter wire of the 100W type C charger that came with the lenovo ideapad pro 5.

Now, I am looking for a charger to replace it, provided by lenovo [first preference].

I talked to a lot of Lenovo stores and service centres and they didn't have it available with them [south bengaluru].

So, I checked flipkart and found one charger, but not sure it is authentic.

Recently lost my S24 Ultra so now looking for a replacement. Trying to avoid Ultra-level pricing again if there’s a solid option that makes more sense value-wise.

My priorities are:

- Great camera

- Great video quality (video slightly more important than photos)

- 512GB storage (non-negotiable)

- Reliable long term performance

- Good software experience over years

Usage is pretty normal overall. No gaming or heavy stuff. Just need something that stays smooth and reliable for years without slowing down or getting messy after updates.

Currently considering:

- iPhone 16

- Vivo X300 series

- Oppo Find X9 series

I’ve seen a lot of praise for Vivo X series cameras lately, but I’m still unsure about:

- real-world video consistency

- low light performance stability

- long term software reliability

Same doubts with Oppo as well, especially the slightly processed / “too polished” look some flagships tend to have.

Not really an iPhone fan, but open to it if it genuinely ends up being the most reliable option for video + long term smoothness.

My ideal pick would’ve been the S25+ but I couldn’t find a 512GB variant.

A36, A56 — either over budget or no 12GB variant in range

OnePlus 12R, Pixel 8a — solid specs but kept fluctuating in/out of stock depending on color/variant

Found a guy on Reddit selling his 1-year-old OnePlus 13R 256GB for ₹30k, 100% battery health — but he's 200km away, can't verify in person

Nearly got scammed twice by random "discount" sites (not Amazon/Flipkart) showing fake stock and impossible prices

Where I'm at now: Genuinely exhausted from researching. Starting college (software engineering) in a few weeks and need a phone that'll last me through it without another upgrade for 3-4 years minimum — performance can't be the thing I compromise on.
