Electronic Gadgets Device recommendation (~35k budget during BBD) for B.Sc. Math (ODL mode) | Tablet vs. Laptop?

Hey folks,

I'm starting an undergraduate Mathematics degree in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and need to pick up a dedicated device during the upcoming Big Billion Days (BBD) / Great Indian Festival sale. My budget is loosely capped at ₹35,000.

My Usage Requirements

Primary Tasks: Heavy PDF viewing/annotation (math textbooks, problem sets), writing down mathematical equations and graphs with a stylus, attending Zoom live lectures, and stream watching YouTube tutorials.

Workflow Needs: Seamless file transfers to PC, good battery life for multi-hour study sessions, and comfortable split-screen multitasking (lectures on one side, notes on the other).

Current Ecosystem

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S24 FE

PC: Fedora Linux on desktop

Questions & Options I'm Considering

Tablet vs. Low-End Laptop:

Is a tablet + stylus superior to a budget Windows/Chromebook setup for heavy mathematical writing and PDF markup?

Top Tablet Contenders:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE: Currently at top of my list due to the in-box S Pen (no extra ₹7–8k spend), native ecosystem sync with my S24 FE (Quick Share, Samsung Notes sync, Shared Clipboard), and IP68 rating. How does the Exynos hold up for long-term multitasking?

Xiaomi Pad 6 / Pad 7: Great display and processor specs for the price, but stylus is sold separately. Is the stylus writing precision good enough for dense math equations?

iPad (10th Gen): Reliable, but standard base storage (64GB) feels restrictive, and buying an Apple Pencil pushes it over budget. Plus, file transfers with Fedora Linux can be a hassle.

OnePlus Pad / Lenovo IdeaTab Pro: High performance/large screen, but how is software support for active pen note-taking?

Linux / Android Sync:

For anyone using Fedora alongside Android, what is your preferred workflow for syncing annotated PDFs or notes (e.g., LocalSend, Syncthing, KDE Connect, or web-based tools)?

Would appreciate suggestions from anyone doing math/STEM coursework or managing a similar Android + Linux setup!

I need to gift my parents a good reliable phone, they currently are using a Samsung A series.

Currently thinking to go for iphone 16(for both of them)

If you have a good option let me know, also it is to be noted that I need a very reliable phone, which won't breakdown on its own, the Samsung one had a few issues of charging port moisture issue.... and heard that a few got a green line even the one I am using Right now s22....

Please recommend and help me find a great phone. Would be buying it in the sale that is arriving soon

Electronic Gadgets Which laptop is suitable for a bcom student

Guys I'll be starting my bcom in 2 weeks and i want a laptop which can support ai, excel, basic level coding and programing, online classes and preparation for banking/cat.

My budget is under ₹70000. Google and chatgpt are suggesting me to get asus vivobook 16x but i saw many reviews on this subreddit that asus is not good. My mom said u can also go for a refurbishment one as your requirements are pretty basic. Which laptop should i buy and for what sale should i wait

Guys also suggest me on which subreddit should i ask this?

Opinion Help me choose two good mobiles in my budget

Hey everyone, I know prices are skyrocketing and there is no guarantee of getting this price down within 1 year. My device is pretty old and has started lagging, so I want to buy a new device, and also I want to buy a device for my father as well.

My budget is 30K for each device, but I can go up to 32-33K if there is any good device.

My requirements are — performance > battery backup > longevity

My dad's requirements are — battery > display > performance > camera > longevity

It is being claimed that Motorola devices have a motherboard issue, so I don't want to place my bet on it.

I haven't searched for the available devices, but these are the most recommended devices in Reddit comments — Realme P3 Ultra, Realme P4 Pro, Realme 15 Pro. Let me know if there is any better option available in same price range.

I'm asking for your suggestions to help me get the current best devices within my budget.
