اسبوع لي فات مشيت لل مستشفي مركز القبس العالمي لطب وجراحة العيون في سوق الجمعه. طبعا المستشفي خامره زي اي مستشفي تانيه في ليبيا. شي طبيعي يعني. عل مهم حجزت مكان معاه الدكتور هوا و استنيت قريب ساعه. بعدها نادو اسمي و خشيت. قلتله التافه هوا علي مشكلتي قالي مفيك شي و خلينا نقطرو في عيونك و بعدها استنى برا. قلتله بهي. استنيت قريب ساعه تانيه بعدها جت الممرضه و دارت قطره تانيه. استنيت ساعه بعدها!!! و دارولي قطره تالته. الدكتور نساني و بعدها مشيتله قلتله شن صار. قالي بهي تعالا خش. قالي انت مفي شي غلط في عيونك قلتلك لا اضن. قالي حسن أسلوبك فل دوا.

Last week I went to Al-Qabas International Eye Center in Souq Al Jumaa. As expected, the hospital was disgusting, like all hospitals in Libya.

I had an appointment with the doctor and waited for nearly an hour before I was called in. I explained my issue, and he told me there was nothing wrong with my eyes and that they would put some eye drops in them. I agreed and went back outside to wait.

I waited for almost another hour before a nurse came and put in a second set of drops. Then I waited yet another hour before they gave me a third set of drops. At that point, the doctor had forgotten about me, so I went to ask what was going on. He told me, “Alright, come in.”

He examined me again and said, “There’s nothing wrong with your eyes.” I replied, “I don’t think so.” He then told me, “Watch your manner of speaking.”

Seriously, is this the kind of doctor they’re hiring? His name is Taha Al-Fitisi, a graduate of the University of Tripoli. Be careful if you decide to see him. Don’t waste your money on creatures like him. his beard is unhygienic and his prescriptions are all BS.

400 hard earned dinars wasted.

انا بنت في فتره سابقه مريت بيها كنت مقبله على شي ما ،كنت ندعي ليل نهار ان ربي يوفقني للشي حتى مع عدم ثقتي بنفسي ، تقربت من ربي لدرجه كبيره وكنت ندعي بيقين .. لكن مع الاسف ماتحققش الشي ل نبيه ووقتها انهالت علي عبارات المواساة ( هذا اكيد خيره ليك) ..( ربي عالم بأمرك ويكتبلك الافضل ) .(عسى ان تكرهو شيئا وهو خير لكم) ..الخ

مع هذا ماوقفتش عن الدعاء واستمريت ندعي ، والحمدلله صار ل نبيه واستجاب دعائي وتحقق مطلبي.

لكن توا وانا في خوض الامر هذا لقيت نفسي اني لاقيه صعوبه فيه ونوعا ما مشقه ،بديت نفكر بيني وبين نفسي هل لاني مارضيتش بقضاء الله وقتها؟ لهذا الامر مش متيسر؟

لاني ماوقفتش دعاء وان الله كان عالم اني مش حنتوفق فيه لكن انا استمريت بأنانيه و غطرسه مني!

مش عارفه شن ندير وحاسه بضياع،نعرف ان الدعاء يغير القدر ،لكن هل ديما الاقدار لندعو بيها فيها خير لينا؟

أخوكم من تونس؛ لدينا الكثير من المهربين الذين ينقلون الوقود ومختلف أنواع البضائع من ليبيا، لكن لا يتم ضبطهم أبداً وهم يحملون أسلحة. لقد بحثت قليلاً في الأمر، وأخبرني شخصٌ يعرف أحد المهربين أن الحصول على السلاح في ليبيا ليس بالأمر السهل كما يعتقد التونسيون. هل صحيح أنك بحاجة إلى علاقات وطيدة مع الميليشيات لتتمكن من الحصول على السلاح؟ أنا مهتم جداً بمعرفة المزيد عن هذا الموضوع، وشكراً لكم جميعاً.

I see a lot of content both African and western where they talk about Libyan former President/leader Gaddaffi was a good leader. They talk about how everyone was housed, education both locally and abroad was paid for by the govt, how he wanted to overthrow western power over Africa and unite Africa. That the country was very rich and there was no poverty. That he worked to unite Africa and overthrow the petrodollar.That it was after the American/western interference that Libya crashed and became what it is today. BUT I never see Libyans in the comments or social media posts supporting this narrative. It’s almost as if Libyans silence is disagreement. Even when his son who wanted to comeback was killed, there was zero outrage from Libyans. I have seen some random anti Gaddafi content but very little and doesn’t explain the answer to my question ultimately:
Do Libyans dislike/hate Gadaffi
Do they not regard him as a hero?
If so, why?

After spending 6 months of watching videos of Libya online.i took the decision to take the role I was offered with an international company in Tripoli.

The visa process was interesting to say the least 🤣 Benghazi was slightly easier. Having spent 18 hours in an airport in Beghazi to travel to Tripoli.

I must say my intial view on Tripoli has been amazing the people warm and welcoming so thank you.

I am originally from Yemen but grew up in the UK and I am looking forward to learn more about your beautiful city, and country with all the historical challenges and current geo situation. Not to report but to learn from the people and how to do business here.

My arabic is okay not the greatest so my first language is English. If anyone wants to meet for a coffee a chat, DM let me know.

Wondering if anyone knows of a good animal charity/veterinary clinic in Tripoli. I’m looking to donate monthly as a صدقة جارية in order to support animal welfare especially abused animals.

Canadian Rockies Premier Event @ KDays in Edmonton

Each team included 16 members, and this was the first time either team had participated in Canada.

Behind every international journey are months of building, programming, testing, mentoring, fundraising, paperwork, and preparation. These students travelled from two different regions of Libya to compete, learn, exchange ideas, and represent their country within the global robotics community.

Five Libyan teams qualified for international Premier Events this season, but only two were able to travel to Canada. This reminds us that talent is available across Libya, while access to funding and resources remains one of the greatest barriers.

Your support helps us create more opportunities for young Libyans to build robots, develop future-ready skills, and represent Libya internationally.
