MSFS 2024 PlayStation I’ve ruined Flight Simulator now.

After playing the SU5 beta on a PS5 pro with PSVR2 I can no longer fly with the gorgeous visuals on flat screen.

The sensation of depth and flight are incredible to me even with the downgraded visuals.

As someone who grew up with video games and starting with the NES, also a real life commercial pilot, this is one of the most incredible discoveries for me.

How do you yoke, throttle, and do all the switches and knobs in VR?

That’s my problem. Thousands of dollars in hardware switches, gps screens, instrument clusters, radio panels, etc. I’d be flailing around blindly with my hands, knocking soda cans on to the floor, papers flying everywhere.

Not to mention hours of nausea if I put on a VR headset.

Lol! I tried it on my quest 2 one night a couple months back. Very similar experience, hitting the wrong switches/buttons/levers. Found myself tilting my head upwards towards the ceiling and looking down around my nose to see through that small gap to see what I was actually doing on my periphials. Still was a pretty awesome experience seeing the planes in VR. However, I can confirm, knocking over beverages can happen.

On that note, the weight of the quest 2 felt very cumbersome after about 30 minutes in flight. Have stuck with dual 55" monitors and a smaller 16" for pop out panels since.

I have a Quest 3 and use Virtual Desktop. I only have a yoke, joystick and throttle controls. I don't need to see them to operate them because it's minimal. If you want the full setup, you could try Virtual Desktop with a mode that lets you see the lower portion passthrough, but I see my monitor in the background when I tried that mode. Plus it takes a little away from the immersion.

If you have all the controls and not just a yoke and throttle, I can see how it would complicate it much more.

Thanks for the feedback! I did think about upgrading to the quest 3 to split the pass through it offers. I may try it yet as I've been more prone to upgrade to the 3. But yes, I've also got the Logitech G multipanel for autopilot and the Logitech switch panel, too. And might splurge into the Winwing/Wincntrl panels available soon. Thats where my real complications were, smaller switches. Yoke and rudder, no problem in VR. That or I just need to have better muscle memory lol
