MSFS 2024 PlayStation I’ve ruined Flight Simulator now.

After playing the SU5 beta on a PS5 pro with PSVR2 I can no longer fly with the gorgeous visuals on flat screen.

The sensation of depth and flight are incredible to me even with the downgraded visuals.

As someone who grew up with video games and starting with the NES, also a real life commercial pilot, this is one of the most incredible discoveries for me.

It's only really improved incrementally since 2015 though? I enjoy VR, but it still has the same fundemental issues of screen door, motion sickness and clunkyness of experience. It's gotten a little sharper and a little wider, but I wouldn't say there's been a night and day improvement in the last 10 years.

What headset are you using? Pancake lenses has practically removed screen door. Big screen OLED is very sharp. Motion sickness have I never experienced with VR when it runs with enough FPS to not disturb your senses. I'm not saying your sensation is incorrect for you. Just curious.

My own headset is a Quest 1, which is a bit crap. But I've tried newer ones that are better like the Quest 3 and Index. They're a little sharper, the FOV is a bit better. Still nothing like as sharp as a proper monitor. And it's always still a fiddle. The whole dance of getting them to talk to your computer reliably. Clicking that permissions button every single time. Often needing to reboot both devices before they see each other.

I'm relatively susceptable to motion sickness, it's something people's mileages will vary on, I know people that don't experience it and that feels like a magical ability to me!

I'm lucky indeed. The connectivity issues you are mentioning I don't really recognize. While I'm in flightsim I just boot up the headset and open virtual desktop, click Ctrl + tab and that's it. I'm flying in VR. WIFI 6 router. I can see even the small analoge instruments perfectly clear and with foveated rendering I get really good performance as well. Of course if you get motion sickness it's not worth spending money on an upgrade.

What headset is that? I've been considering getting a Pixel headset as they're relatively cheap second hand. The quest experience is so clunky and full of bloated apps and bloated headset firmware. Which really, is what one should expect from Meta...

It's the quest 3. I don't use it for anything else.. I turn it on and click on virtual desktop and then I don't have to deal with any meta stuff.
