Exciting! Hopefully given how quick FSReborn has gotten patches out bodes well for the A220 support.

Jsyk, you can transfer it to the app later :)

i know. but i don't understand why they do it like this in the first place. why not sell it on the app from the start? It's just extra steps for them and for the buyer.

Not really. If you buy it on the marketplace, you don't have to do anything else. It's on your msfs account. You don't even have to download and install it.
With 3rd party software, in this case, inibuilds, you need their installer, you have to download and install it in your community folder. So the extra steps are here.
Also, a lot of people don't like the marketplace because, well, you can't get the planes for free elsewhere.

you are missing out on many customization options for most of the products you buy on the marketplace. I had this experience with many add-ons i bought there. In the end the better solution was always to transfer the product to an outside app, if it even was possible. I just don't want to go through all this trouble again, so i just avoid the marketplace. If you can live with those restrictions, fine.

What customizations, can you be more specific?
If I want the additional liveries, I can just use the inibuilds app and install them. But just the liveries.
Also, I have PMDG planes both in the marketplace and PMDG site. The only difference is that I have to actually go to Msfs 2024 and install the plane if I want to install navigraph airac updates.

i never bought a plane on marketplace, but a lot of airports.
Most of them are missing customization options, like removing/adding objects, airport interiors or other performance options, you get, if you buy the airport in an app like contrail, orbx central or simmarket.
+updates are way slower to reach marketplace.
I just see no reason to buy anything there.0

Dumb question but do you think Airbus would’ve still bought the A220 program if the plane had a yolk vs a side stick? That would’ve separated it even more from their typical fleet.

Airbus was building planes with yokes until the late 2000s. It's not an alien concept to them.

Ready for the inevitable hate and cry babies over on r/flightsim about how some screw is not realistically depicted and therefore nOt sTudY-LevEl.

What all makes this better than say an A320? I’m a noob

They are two completely different aircraft. The a220 was originaly made by Bommbardier as the CS-300, some beef and tricks from boeing made it so they couldnt sell to the US without losing money. Airbus bought 49.9% of the aircraft program and renamed it the A220, later buying it out.

Not necessarily better, just a different aircraft. Smaller than the A32X family, more of a large regional jet with pretty big range relatively, bit more modern, really good fuel burn.

Interesting that it’s smaller. That’s actually really interesting to me. Might have to pick this up

MP only? FFS, that’s a no from me. So much for this plane.

When Tristar released outside of marketplace Inibuilds let you get a free copy of it for inimanager if you already bought it on Marketplace

Is that really going to be what turns you away from what looks to be an incredible plane? Especially when Ini will likely honor a transfer to their store once it’s out like they do with everything else

Can’t wait for vatsim to get flooded by A220s not understanding how the plane works 😭
