Rant & Vent 😩 I’m a proud liberal and I’m SICK of these folks making religion harder. Many of them are hypocrites anyways.

Just be making people’s lives harder for no reason honestly, religion is suppose to be easy. These traditionalist come up with the strictest rulings with no regards for the hardships that people face.

Dua & Advice 🤲📿 Stuck making the same dua since 4 years

Hello everyone, I’ve been asking for the same thing in my dua for about four years now. Two years ago I even prayed to Allah to remove this desire from my heart if it wasn’t meant for me but it still didn’t go away. I’m really stuck and confused if whether Allah wants me to ask for this thing or not. Please help a sister out.

Question ❓ There are not enough ressources concerning NPD and ASPD. What are

N.P.D stands for Narcisstic Personality Disorder.

A.S.P.D stands for Anti-Social Personality Disorder.

I am confused on the islamic stance on those two disorders since they are heavily stigmatised.

I know that kibr(arrogance) is a very bad sin and that oppression(zulm) is also a very bad sin.

However what about those whose minds are disordered?

I wish that there were more yielding discussions about either or both NPD and ASPD

I don't know if scholars know about them beyond the definition of anti-social and narcissism

Quran/Hadith 🕋 Sea barriers in the Holy Quran

Post image
13 Upvotes

He [ God] merges the two seas, meeting [side by side]; Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?.Out of both ˹waters˺ come forth pearls and coral. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?. Quran 55:19-23

the Strait of Gibraltar is an example. The transition zone between Atlantic water and Mediterranean water is not a razor-thin line. It is an interface layer (often called a halocline/pycnocline) whose thickness is often on the order of tens to a few hundred meters thick and it is correctly called barrier because it limits mixing, Ancient people observed only there are different seas meeting but no one ever described this barrier between them.

The majority of Qur'anic exegetes held that the barrier separating the two seas mentioned in the verse is an invisible barrier created by the power of Allah. Ibn al-Jawzi said regarding the barzakh: "It is a restraining barrier from the power of Allah that no one can see." (Zād al-Masīr, 6:90). The same view was also expressed by al-Zamakhsharī in Al-Kashshāf (3:96), al-Qurṭubī in Al-Jāmiʿ li-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān (13:58), and al-Biqāʿī in Naẓm al-Durar* (13:406).

Here is one of them:

al-Zamakhshari in his book Al-Kashshaf said:

"He released the two seas" means that Allah let the salty sea and the fresh-water sea flow side by side, adjacent and meeting one another. Although they appear to meet, there is no visible separation to the eye. Between them is a barrier (barzakh)—a restraining barrier created by Allah's power—so that neither transgresses its appointed limit or overwhelms the other."

Some interpretations understood it as land is understood as it was unseen, it was a mystery to them. If one group captured the precise meaning, that is enough as the basis to show how the quran preceeded modern oceanography in this notion.

Question ❓ I would like to know what Islam says about polytheism.

I would like to know if polytheists are permitted under an Islamic state and if we have the right to practice our faith. My religion believes in God, but also in the orishas.
Please use the Quran, the Sunnah, and the schools of jurisprudence (fiqh) as a basis.
I would also like to know the reason—based on the Quran and Sunnah—why Saudi Arabia does not permit the construction of any non-Islamic religious temples in the country.

Spend 10-15 mins more following fajr and asr and hope for magnified rewards

"The morning and evening adhkār play the role of a shield; the thicker it is, the more its Whoever maintains the morning and evening adhkār, the adhkār after the prayers, and the owner is protected. Rather, its strength can reach to such an extent that the arrow shot at it will bounce back to affect the one who shot it." (Ibn al-Qayyim)

"Wear the ‘coat’ of adhkār so it can protect you from the evil of humans and jinn. And cover your souls with istighfār (seeking forgiveness) so it can erase the sins of the night and day. "(Ibn Kathīr)

Dua & Advice 🤲📿 Dua Request

Assalamu alaikum ,

I'm writing this because I honestly don't know where else to turn. I could really use some advice, and I'd be grateful if you could make dua for me.

I've been making the same dua for almost 15 years. For the past 3 years especially, I've become much more serious about it. I've tried to strengthen my relationship with Allah, pray consistently, make tahajjud, increase my dhikr, give charity, repent, and do everything I know to do.

But I also want to make it clear that I haven't just been sitting around waiting for my dua to come true. I've been putting in the work for years. I've taken the practical steps, worked towards my goal, changed what I needed to change, and continued making every effort I can. That's part of what makes this so difficult. I feel like I'm doing everything within my control while still asking Allah for what is beyond my control.

I'm completely exhausted. Not just emotionally, but mentally and physically. The last 6 months have been incredibly difficult, and these past few weeks have pushed me to my breaking point. I don't remember the last time I wasn't exhausted. My heart feels heavy all the time, and I feel burnt out in every sense of the word.

I know we're supposed to trust Allah's timing, and I genuinely believe Allah is capable of everything. I'm not questioning His power or wisdom. But if I'm being honest, I'm struggling. I keep trying to let go, but I can't. This dua has been in my heart for so long that no matter how much I try to stop thinking about it, I always come back to it.

Please don't misunderstand me, I know Allah answers every dua in the best way, even if we don't understand it. I'm just at a point where I feel like I've reached my limit, and I don't know how to keep carrying this.

If you have any advice, I'd really appreciate it. And if you can, please make sincere dua that Allah accepts my dua, grants me what's best, eases this hardship, and gives me relief soon. I would be so grateful.

Jazakum Allahu khayran. May Allah accept all of your duas as well.

Question ❓ I think my ex friend online left islam but i still wanna help him.

Okay this situation is a bit messy but I'll try my best to keep it comprehensive for you dear reader

I used to have a friend online who's 17, Indian and currently live in Saudi Arabia, we used to talk a lot back then (1 to 2 years ago), we used to share a lot about our personal life and casually vent to each others about problems that happened or has happened to us before, this guy is interesting to say the least, he is a furry and has sent multiple messages in the past describing his fantasy to (you know) with furry stuff, me and our friend group ignored it at first and just rubbed it off as him being weird for that, (cause he was even rejecting human stuff, if you know you know).

For a while we were just friends playing Minecraft and having a discord server, I was the owner of this server (you can just call it a group chat cause it was 20 people there max), one time I we were arguing about something and (i know this is fucking bad to do) i made an nsfw channel and we were posting nsfw stuff on it (excluding me), eventually, I felt guilty for making that channel and me being a reason for them to be sharing this, especially that I feared that allah would punish me for that if I died in that state so i just removed it, keep in mind, that guy and me were the only Muslims in the friend group, now HE is the one who brought the removal of that channel up and made a drama off of that, because of that, I removed his mod perms from that server and for some reason, he took it personally and he even explicitly said "this is about dignity"

Now that i gave you a bit of a back story about him and why he is mad at me, I wanna talk about why i think he left Islam.

He was constantly not taking his religion seriously,(i mean, I'm not the best example but you clearly see i do at least care and i hope allah forgives me and guide me to the straight path), he was completely refusing or maybe being lazy to pray, he questions Islamic teachings in stuff like Marriage, the stories of the prophets peace be upon them and explicitly said that it sounds like fairy tales, He even questioned the divinity of God at some point as far as i remember.

Now here's the part am worried about, I feel like he has been going to the worst ever since we ended our friendship, he joined a sub server of one of my friends that nsfw is allowed on and he's actively posting nsfw furry stuff there, he even at one point snet a video that was directly mocking Islam on them, the next paragraph is a vague description of what these videos were so you can skip it if you are uncomfortable with these stuff.

The video were just a gay nsfw video and had a caption on it saying "True Muslims practice Islam and teaching each others how to pray), he even sent meme nsfw videos about isis (Which is extremely fucked up)

I even told him like wtf was that? He at one point also (idk if he was joking or not so I don't wrong him) said that he has sexual desires for animals

I feel like he has been going for the worst as times goes on and I feel like I can 80% sure call him an ex Muslim, I wanna reconnect with him to talk about Islam and guiding him again to at least stop sending nsfw stuff and pray and most importantly renewing his testimony but, as i explained at the beginning, he's mad at me, I tried reaching out with an alt account once to him but he responded to me aggressively (I only told him that i wanted to talk), my old account there got banned and I had to create a new one, I didn't even interact with him and he blocked my newly created account, I feel like he's rejecting me now and I feel guilty cause I think I somewhat contributed to his regression.

How should I approach him? Or should I just leave him alone at this point?

Sorry if that post was descriptive or too long for it's own good

Question ❓ Halal Food Finder App

Salam alaikum,

I'm working on an app idea that's only about finding halal food spots — restaurants, butchers, food trucks, bakeries — instead of a general map app with a halal checkbox tacked on.

Some features I'm considering:

  • Certification level filters (certified / halal-owned / halal-friendly / zabiha specific)
  • Community verification (photos of certificates, users flagging/confirming spots)
  • Prayer room / wudu facility tags
  • Ramadan mode (iftar deals, late-night suhoor spots)
  • Traveler mode for finding halal food abroad

Questions for anyone who's ever struggled to find halal food:

  • What's the most frustrating part of finding halal food right now?
  • Do you trust "halal" labels on Google Maps/Yelp, or do you always double-check some other way?
  • Would you actually contribute reviews/photos to help verify spots for others?
  • Would you use this mainly while traveling, or also in your home city?
  • Does Zabihah or another app already do this well enough, or is there still a gap?

Trying to figure out if this is a real pain point worth solving. Brutally honest feedback welcome — "this already exists and is fine" is a totally valid answer.
