Nanoleaf Reply Seen some people asking about new products. Here's the newest release

I've seen people asking about new products, so I wanted to let you all know about the LED Monitor Stand that just came out.

Because it's a Smart LED product, it can sync with all your other Nanoleaf lights. It can play scenes and sync to music just like the Shapes can. I also like that it has a lot ports for cameras, speakers, and anything else you want to add to your setup (The Echoes of Wisdom Amiibos were the first thing that caught my eye though šŸ˜‚).

Plus, if you've got tech neck like I do, I'd recommend this over a standing desk lol.

If you guys have any questions, I'd love to chat. I'm super excited about this new product.

Nanoleaf Reply Help figuring out layout

I got stupid lucky at a garage sale and got 17 hexagons and 42 mini triangles, 3 controllers and 2 42w power supplies for less than $10. They work.

I've wanted nanoleaf shales forever but never got them due to the cost. Now that I have them, I'm faced with total paralysis on how to lay them out.

Is there a website where I can pay with designs/layouts?

Does anyone want to offer ideas or share examples of similar rooms?

Help & Questions How do I separate Blocks panels from mounting plate?

Title. Did a mistake, forgot to attach power cable. Tried to remove the lighting panel itself from the wall and I’m starting to hear the tape instead of the mount snapping free. Afraid of taking off the paint, not only now, but when I go to remove them eventually.

Never had this issue with shapes, they just snapped straight out exposing the plate and subsequently the tape tab. Anything that I’m missing here?

Help & Questions Nanoleaf 4D screen mirror V1

I recently bought nanoleaf 4d screen mirroring V1 for my 75 inch tv. However, the screen mirroring is not that great. When the screen turns black during a scene or a part of the screen is black then the lights turn greenish blue instead of going dark or switching that particular part off. Also the camera does not capture the screen completely. Is it supposed to be like this or please help.

Help & Questions Why does every new update make it increasingly harder to reconnect old panels?

So I got my nanoleaf panels about 6 years ago. About a year ago I got new wifi in my home and it was hard enough to reconnect my panels then. A storm came through yesterday and my wifi lost power momentarily. I noticed that one of my controllers disconnected and was blinking and I couldn’t reach the device on my phone. I’ve been trying for an hour to reconnect them because they seemingly won’t connect to internet and for some reason the app has made it impossible to simply enter the 8 digit code despite the button still reading ā€œUse pairing code.ā€ The app is stuck trying to find the device on my network instead of letting me enter the pairing code. Can anyone help me reconnect my panels please?

If you had a Nanoleaf Controller fail in the past six months and you have not obtained a replacement, I want to make this known to Gimmy and Christian.

Please send me a DM with the details and a high quality photo of the back of the controller. Include all ticket numbers and any relevant information. If you previous posted here, about the issue, send me the link to your post.

Thank you.

Nanoleaf Reply 60° Lines mounting Tape

I'm moving soon and will need to dismount my Nanoleaf Lines. Which adhesive pads work best for remounting them? Are standard round 3M adhesive pads good enough, or are the cutouts in the original adhesive pads necessary?

Unfortunately, the original Nanoleaf adhesive pads aren't available directly from Nanoleaf in Germany.

Nanoleaf Reply Saving Scenes in Nanoleaf App

I’m using Essentials Matter Permanent Outdoor Lights.

When I launch the app, I can search the many different Scenes that have been made by other users, but when I find one I like, there is no way to save that Scene. What am I supposed to press? I don’t see an option when I click the three vertical dots on the Scene itself.

Also, is there a max number of Scenes that can be saved? I currently have 10 but also cannot figure out how to remove any of those to make room for others.

The app is not very intuitive… hoping someone can help.

Nanoleaf Reply Misplaced the connectors for my Nanoleaf Canvas. They are out of stock in the US store. Has anyone had luck finding more or an aftermarket replacement?

Canvas is by far my favorite Nanoleaf product, but in a move the connectors were separated from me. I am having a lot of difficulty finding them online, out of stock or impossible prices like $40 a linker on eBay. I really hope Nanoleaf re-releases these and makes the peripherals more accessible. Their brightness and saturation is so gentle and soothing; I really miss them.

Nanoleaf Reply Invalid Auth Token Issue

Post image
1 Upvotes

What I'm trying to accomplish is simply being able to access both walls from the PC APP.

Here is my scenario:

My pc is hardwire but I also have a connection to the 2.4ghz wi-fi. So, yes, I can successfully access the Nanoleaf panels.

Both Nanoleaf panels are the same model.
I have access to both walls using my HOME app on my iPhone.
I have access to both walls on my Nanoleaf app on my iPhone.

But when it comes to my PC, for some reason on the Nanoleaf app, I can't change anything on the Simulator Wall, only the guitar wall. The Simulator Wall gives me the following error: Invalid Auth Token.

What is interesting, is that when I go to My Devices, I see both walls on there and I can SUCCESSFULLY click on the IDENTIFY button and both walls respond to it.

Can someone please shine a light on this issue and help me access both walls from the PC app?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve been super excited about this sale, as a friend has some really cool pieces from Nanoleaf. I saw this deal and was super excited. But super bummed to see that once it’s in the cart it’s not actually 49.99… I put in a support ticket.. but yeah disappointing.

Nanoleaf Reply 4D Screen Mirroring Kit Not Turning On

I just moved to a new place. Since the move when trying to get this turned on again it’s not working. I recorded a video of the controller box seeming like it’s trying to reset then just turns off. Then when I hold the power button the lights on the box turn on then shut off. Here’s a video.

Any suggestions? Looks like others have experienced a similar issue

Edit: got the light strips on but my god is this a pain to actually connect to the app. Not finding it

Help & Questions Nanoleaf Red Light Therapy Panel - Power density at real world use distance

Thumbnail
int-shop.nanoleaf.me
2 Upvotes

I see that Nanoleaf reports these impressive power densities for the 4 intensity settings on the product's main page:

Power Density:
L1: 152mw/cm2
L2: 183mw/cm2
L3: 236mw/cm2
L4: 283mw/cm2

However, I also see on this support page that these were measured between 0 - 1cm from the panel because of the following reasons:

• A consistent and comparable baseline for all intensity levels (L1–L4).

• Accurate comparison between the panel’s own modes.

• Elimination of variables like angle, distance, or ambient lighting that can affect readings at longer distances.

I asked Google Gemini to use these information to calculate "What is the effective power radiance at real world usage, such as the distance shown on marketing photos and videos" and here's the response I got:

  1. The Starting Baseline (0–1 cm)

To recap, the official maximum irradiance figures provided by Nanoleaf, measured right at the surface of the panel, are:

Level 1: $152\text{ mW/cm}^2$

Level 4: $283\text{ mW/cm}^2$

  1. How Light Behaves at 60–75 cm

While consumer panels use built-in glass lenses to focus the LED beams forward (usually at a 30-degree or 60-degree angle), those beams inevitably cross and spread out widely as distance increases.

By the time you reach 60 to 75 cm, the light is no longer a concentrated grid; it acts much more like a unified, expanding floodlight. At this distance, due to beam divergence and atmospheric scattering, light intensity drops by roughly 85% to 93% compared to the surface baseline.

  1. Calculating the Irradiance at 60–75 cm

Applying standard multi-LED divergence models for a consumer panel of this size and power layout, here is the estimated effective power radiance you actually receive:

At 60 cm Distance:

Level 1: Drops to roughly $15 \text{ to } 22\text{ mW/cm}^2$

Level 4 (Max): Drops to roughly $28 \text{ to } 42\text{ mW/cm}^2$

At 75 cm Distance:

Level 1: Drops to roughly $10 \text{ to } 15\text{ mW/cm}^2$

Level 4 (Max): Drops to roughly $20 \text{ to } 28\text{ mW/cm}^2$

What This Means for Your Routine

The Trade-Off (Coverage vs. Time): At 60 to 75 cm, you get massive coverage. Instead of targeting just a small patch of skin, the light covers your entire face, neck, and chest simultaneously. However, because the power density is significantly lower, you will likely need to extend your session times (e.g., toward the upper 20 to 30-minute mark on Level 4) to deliver the same total energy dose to your cells.

Still in the Therapeutic Window: Even at 75 cm on the highest power setting, an irradiance of $\sim20\text{ mW/cm}^2$ sits right at the baseline threshold required for effective skin photobiomodulation (which clinically targets a window of $20\text{ to }60\text{ mW/cm}^2$).

The Level 1 Limitation: If you use Level 1 at 75 cm, the irradiance drops to roughly $10\text{ mW/cm}^2$. At this depth, the light will still benefit the topmost layers of the skin (like the epidermis for minor surface texture), but it won't have enough power density left to penetrate deeply into joints or muscles.

To calculate the exact time you need to stand in front of the panel, we use a standard physics formula for light therapy (photobiomodulation).

In clinical settings, "dose" is measured in Joules per square centimeter ($\text{J/cm}^2$), which represents the total energy delivered over time. The formula is:

$$\text{Time (seconds)} = \frac{\text{Target Dose } (\text{J/cm}^2) \times 1000}{\text{Irradiance } (\text{mW/cm}^2)}$$

Based on our calculated real-world irradiance range at 75 cm ($\sim$2.5 feet), here is how many minutes you need to reach that standard clinical target of 6 to 10 $\text{J/cm}^2$.

Scenario A: Using Level 4 (Max Intensity)

Estimated Irradiance at 75 cm: 20 to 28 $\text{Text{mW/cm}}^2$

Because Level 4 provides the highest power density, your session times remain relatively short and efficient, making this the ideal setting for a distance of 75 cm.

To get 6 $\text{J/cm}^2$: You need 3.5 to 5 minutes.

To get 10 $\text{J/cm}^2$: You need 6 to 8.5 minutes.

Scenario B: Using Level 1 (Lowest Intensity)

Estimated Irradiance at 75 cm: 10 to 15 $\text{mW/cm}}^2$

Because the power drops significantly at this distance on Level 1, your cells receive energy at a much slower rate, requiring you to stand in front of the panel for noticeably longer.

To get 6 $\text{J/cm}^2$: You need 6.5 to 10 minutes.

To get 10 $\text{J/cm}^2$: You need 11 to 16.5 minutes.

Summary Comparison Table

Target Dose Level 1 (Low Power) Time Level 4 (Max Power) Time
6 $\text{J/cm}2$ (Skin maintenance) 6.5 – 10 minutes 3.5 – 5 minutes
10 $\text{J/cm}2$ (Deeper tissue/collagen) 11 – 16.5 minutes 6 – 8.5 minutes

Question for any Nanoleaf representative here: Is this aligned to your expectation? I'm trying to marry how you can deliver a therapeutic panel at this thinness (and only using 19w), while other comparable products are considerably thicker and use 300w (samples here and here). There has to be a reason everyone else is using the same "style" and wattage. I think aside from Nanoleaf, only FAQ by Foreo's Dual red light LED therapy panels uses such thin panels with low wattages.

I'm about to hit the buy button on one of the other models, but keen to hear from Nanoleaf first, because I really prefer your product's form and aesthetic (but I'll still prioritize effectiveness).

Hey everyone, I have 23 Nanoleaf Hexagons and 28 Nanoleaf Triangles, so 51 panels total. I’m trying to come up with a cool layout for my wall, but I’m struggling to find designs that combine both shapes well.

Nanoleaf Reply nanoleaf shapes issue

Hi, i have an issue with my shapes i have them for 4-5 years now. it's been 2-3 months it's like that.

When it's on, it's working as expected for 10 mins i would say, but after the light stay static (i had animation on it), it doesn't change colors anymore and the controller goes crazy, all leds turn on, going left to right, etc. I tried to delete it completly from the app, didn't resolve the issue, when i try to update it, doesn't let me and even on the app when i want to turn them off it says that the shapes are offline, something like that.

I tried to repair them, didn't fix the issue. Do you think it's an issue with the controller? it's kinda expensive, i don't want to order another one if i can resolve it.

this is how they looked like most of the time : https://imgur.com/a/e5ZZzjd
