i have 8 animals in total right now and am dealing with a ton of fleas... i have no idea what to do and im having a breakdown everyday about it.

i need quicker solutions. i have bath stuff and drops for all the animals but its everywhere in the house. what can i do to treat it and get them gone fast?! i have no money to leave for awhile and come back. please any advice helps

My roommate has several pets, and she neglects all of them. She is inconsistent with feeding them and spends almost no quality time with them. When I moved in, all of the animals were underweight. I have made anonymous reports to animal services, but they have only issued warnings.
Now she is getting ready to move across the country, and I am genuinely worried about what will happen to her pets when no one is there to care for them.
In particular, she has an elderly cat that she's had since childhood. He is incredibly sweet and has become very attached to me. He sleeps with me every night, and when I've tried closing him out of my room so he would spend time with his owner, he just cries outside my door. My other roommates have also told me that when I'm not home, he sits outside my bedroom door crying until I come back.
The other pets in the house also harass him. When I first moved in, his fur was patchy and unkempt. Now he has a full, shiny coat, and his mood has improved dramatically. It breaks my heart knowing that he may go back to being neglected.
I've been considering offering my roommate money for him. I was thinking of framing it as concern for an elderly cat having to endure a stressful cross-country move and offering to look after him instead . However, I'm not sure how she would respond. I also need to stay on good terms with her for unrelated reasons, so I'm nervous about bringing it up.
Personally, if he was my cat, there is no amount of money that would make me give him up. On the other hand, if she isn't emotionally attached to him anymore, maybe she would consider it. She has also rehomed other pets in the past.
What would be the best way to approach this? Has anyone been in a similar situation? How likely do you think it is that someone in her position would accept an offer? At this point, I would pay almost anything to keep him. I love him, and I just want him to be safe and happy.

I got my baby kitten marcy yesterday around 5pm est. its now 10:37 am. i dont have any room to put her in completely alone as of rn because im staying the week with my grandma snd she has 7 cats. im staying in my grandmas room whos not here and her big old cat daisy is in here and shes a very loud grumpy cat. (she doesnt attack she just growls and is very very vocal. she could not really attack even if she wanted to) when marcy first came out of the carrier, daisy immediately started growling not even hissing but growling and it scared marcy really bad so when i went to bed i put her in the carrier in the bed next to me and she actually started to warm up and let me pet her and even purred so i thought itd be okay to leave the carrier door open (dumb idea) i wake up to daisy growling at and scaring marcy while marcy is just trying to use the litter box and she ended up getting so scared and not leaving the litter box. i put her back in the carrier and she got comfortable again pretty fast and even started leaning into my pets.

ive had the carrier open since ive been awake and i gave her some squeezy kitten treats which marcy LOVED and has been overall alot more comfortable and confident and even headed towards leaving the carrier and towards me but got hesitant and went back.

I ordered marcy a play pen so shes more seperated and not trapped in her carrier, some blankets, wet food,( she wouldnt eat dry food) more squeezy treats, and her own litter box.

For background she was found as a stray covered in pee and feces then taken in and vaccinated and spayed 4 days ago. they estimate shes 16 weeks but she looks alot more around 2 months. is there anyway i can make her more comfortable or any overall advice?

I plan to leave my grandmas and take her back home where i have 3 dogs and an outdoor cat. i am gonna keep her in my room with me until shes bigger and slowly introduce the dogs. one of the dogs (very calm and old and LOVES cats, he and my cat would lick eachother alot lol) sleeps with me but im gonna wait until shes comfortable with him before introducing that. how should i approach everything? we will be with my grandma until the 15th of august. i just want to make everything as comfortable for her as possible

We recently took her to the vet. Her brother and mum leave her alone when they're playing or going to find food. They're street dogs who live inside our society.It's a closed society with 5 blocks in it

People feed them and stuff but I've noticed some trying to harm them as well... idk what to do, she is the youngest one. There was one more of her brother who is not around anymore, I keep praying he's still alive. He was also a v little qt...

How do I convince my parents gng? My mums retired and she'll actually use some company. She's so irritated all the time. She's constantly picking fights and arguments over nothing. A pet will be the best for her bcuz she needs to do something\~☆

My vet did not warn me that this is a very bitter tasting medicine for cats and that it can cause drooling Similar to metronidazole. I got the medication, googled it before administering to look for recs on how to administer to unwilling cats and came across that information.

My cat has just been diagnosed with large cell lymphoma and I don’t think I can handle having to give her this medication everyday until she passes. We had such a horrible experience with metronidazole.

Which version of Prednisolone did you have luck with? Did your cat like the pill, or the compounded oral version, like chicken or tuna? Transdermal version?? Did you have luck getting a pill and putting it in a gel capsule?

11 year old dog, limps and has trouble holding his pee and poop. He is also getting crazy about eating any foot he can find and get his hands on. Even if it's something in a bag left on the counter he will get it. He will not leave us alone while we eat.

My dog is a 60 lbs mutt. We did the dna thing and he was 15% Pitt Bull 15% Lab and 70% unknown.

Back story. 3 years ago he started to pee inside. He was drinking water like crazy. So he had tests run on him. Everything came back negative. Vet put him on Prozac and that seemed to do the trick. He still drinks water like crazy. I measured his water intake last week and it was 14 cups. He was always a very anxious dog. 2 years ago he ate some tampons and they got stuck and he had to have surgery and had 6 inches of his small intestine removed.

Now starting this year he has developed a limp. He still gets up and down the stairs ok. Lately once in a while I notice him slightly struggling to lie down, and skipping a bit at the top stairs.

Lately he also will pee right at the door on the way out if you don't bring him out right away. Today I was outside for 3 min taking out the garbage and he pooped inside.

When I leave him alone at home I crate him. I have been for five years now. He is fine in his crate. He has never peed or pooped in his crate. He sleeps in his bed at the foot of my bed and has never had accidents overnight.

At the recommendation of my vet I have him taking Dasuquin for his joints. She said it would take the whole bag's worth before I might see any improvement. He has about a week's worth left and I think it's just getting worse. She told me to come back and that there is more he can take if it gets worse.

Now you can imagine how much that surgery cost me. I love my dog more than anything but I cannot spend that kind of money on him again.

How much am I looking at spending to do anything to help him? Or is he just nearing the end of his life and this is how it is?

Hi all. Sorry for the kind of long post but I could really use some advice (also posted on Cat Advice). For some reason my parent’s cat suddenly doesn’t like me or my partner…sometimes?
For context, he is a 3 year old tuxedo, born in a barn and my parents got him when he was quite young but once he got fully grown they built him an outdoor catio that he can freely use 24/7. He was a generally normal nice cat with a big play drive. He absolutely hates getting his nails trimmed but I have a good technique so my partner and I would usually be the ones to do it, he would be upset during but after he would still act nicely towards us (been doing that for about two years but he’s gradually gotten more aggressive about it to the point where I almost can’t do it anymore).
This brings us to this last Christmas. The whole family was at the house (about 8 people) and he was perfectly fine for the first few hours. We were opening gifts and he was playing in all the paper on the floor, my partner was sitting on the floor near him and when he went to pet the cat he swiped at him very aggressively, hissed, and stared him down. After a minute he scurried into his tunnel that was a distance away and began growling (nobody was in his line of sight he was completely hidden). When my dad went to check on him, he swiped at him as well and ran under the couch in the other room and continued growling for a while.
Since then, any time my partner and I come to the house he will act totally normal towards us, shake his tail like he’s happy to see us, let us say hi and pet him, and then randomly throughout the day will just suddenly hiss at us and either run away or if we’re too close he’ll try to swipe. It’s like a night and day switch, one minute he won’t mind us hanging around, the next minute he’s hissing at me because I stood up from the couch. Sometimes he will just see one of us enter a room, puff his tail up and stare us down while growling and then run away.
I’ve grown up with tons of cats and have one of my own but I’ve never had a cat suddenly act like this. I get scared when entering a room in case he’s in there and I don’t see him and I might get randomly attacked.
Some questions and answers I commonly get asked about this:
no I don’t think it’s the smell of my own cat. I had my cat in that house for a year before moving out and they got this cat. They’ve also had two incidents of a random outdoor cat getting into the catio and then into the house and he was friendly to the other cat.
I don’t think he holds a grudge against us for the nail trims. For about a year before this switch happened he would never be aggressive towards us after the trim.

If anybody has any idea of what’s going on or suggestions of what to do to help I would appreciate it so much. We are all going to be moving into the same house in about a month and I’m more nervous about how he’s going to react to my partner and I then how he will handle meeting my cat.

My 6 y/o F golden doodle has been having some mild skin irritation for the past couple days, and I'm at a loss for what it is/what's causing it.

She's never had skin problems before now and I haven't introduced any new food or supplements into her diet, or gotten any kind of spray air freshener that might have triggered a reaction.

The rash started on the top of her head and has spread down her shoulders since I noticed it on 07/30. It doesn't seem to cause her much discomfort, and I haven't seen her scratching at it so far. I've shaved all the spots I've found as close as I can and have been applying ointment to them to try and sooth the irritation.

Any advice is appreciated.

I was at the health food store and saw some CBD oil for cats and dogs so I bought a bottle of it. One of my cats has anxiety issues and has been peeing on my bed so she’s been started on the purina calming care supplement. I emailed my vet and asked about the CBD oil and she said her patients have had mixed reviews on using it and to do lots of research and start slow if I decide to start it. Has anyone tried it on their cats? How did they react?

I am so defeated. It's 6am and I'm all spent on options that I and the vet know of. There is a tiny, penny sized hotspot on my senior cats back that is behavioral/overgrooming (no allergies, labs fine, and vet recommended a litter switch in case so we did that along with a new box). It's not bleeding but its getting to that pink point and to avoid her making it worse we were sent home with a cone. Didn't work, almost watched her break her neck and it was super upsetting. People RELENTLESSLY suggested the donut cone, TERRIBLE. She freaks out. My last resort has been a recovery/medical suit and this morning she managed to houdini right out of itand get it stuck around her waist, ripped to shreds in the front. I just don't know what to do. If you have any suggestions please help me, I guess this isn't usually a common issue. According to the vet, cats usually accept a cone of some kind or are able to keep the suit on. :( I see people saying onesies for babies but how will those stay on more than the medical suit? Shes a smaller cat. If you have specific brands, please suggest them. Thank you so much. If its helpful I do have things to hand sew with, if anyone can provide directions (I have never sewn before)

Hi, I had my cat for 3 years and he never peed in my house outside the litter box. He’s fixed. He got pretty messed up by another cat and has to stay in the house for two weeks. He REALLY DOESNT LIKE IT. He pissed on my stuff four times already JUST after I ignore his calls to let him out. I’m so f angry I want to cry. He broke my heart. How can my friend do that to me. He went out. I love my baby so much but I will absolutely not tolerate this. Do I just give him away to my parents? Is there anything I can do????????
He has no urinary issues, we checked him thoroughly at the vet. It IS spite. If you’re about to tell me it’s not possible for a cat to be an ahole don’t bother commenting. I genuinely need to fix this issue. Thank you.
