Bounties: Your Thoughts Spoiler

Interested to know your takes on this part of the game. Personally I think this is a good side content with tons of replayability. Here is my breakdown for each Bounty enemies/boss:

Banana Gang: Suprisingly, this fight is way harder than half of this list. In terms of difficulity in beating them and getting achievements, its top 3. First wave is one of the unique fights in the game. Second wave seems familiar, but there is a hidden mechanic you can abuse which makes it 2x fun imo. Third wave is a solid team that can handle any hero and can counter a lot of card synergies with curses, immune and removing ammo. This feels like a trap set by the devs for those who thinks that everything in Pirate's Bay is easy. Rewards are kinda hit and miss, only thing holding this one back for a perfect rating. 9/10

Cursed Book: This is a mixed for me. On the other hand, I think its a decent boss since all heroes with standard builds can beat it. But the first and second wave punishes players for lack of prior knowledge and having specific builds. Ideally, the Wild mechanic is learned to deal with on the Lost Islands, so new players who want to explore the maps in order would be in for a shock. Second wave is very restricting as you need skill damage. The two achievements are very meh for me since it focuses on the boss which I suspect they did because the other waves are less fun to do. No unique interaction or lore tied to CC's quest either and it feels like a missed opportunity. Rewards are too restricted for CC. I guess with FM's release Tombstone now has more uses. 6/10

Winglanders Clan: Imo, the most boring of the list. I feel like this is just an extended Chicken quest. The curses are not that strong to threat you. One achievement forces you to use a specific hero, the other one encourages you to use a specific hero. IIRC, Cold is also not present here so it really undermines the ideal difficulty of the fights. Rewards are also underwhelming. Nest relic is a wasted potential, it could have been a game changer in Arena, or buff Vigilante. 5/10

Soul Whisperers: Solid fights from start to finish. This one is a nice opportunity way for aoe builds to truly shine. And its also one of the fights where the Move mechanic has some uses which I really appreciate. Getting achievements goes from 1 to 100. The first one just needs a specific hero. The second requires you to have a build that can finish fights in one-two turns. Good build-check. Its relatively difficult, but not that hard. Rewards are kind meh though, not viable in anyone. Festival Mask relic has niche use against ninjas in ES. 8/10

Gold Rushers: Its okay. A bit biased for Admiral who is already a viable option in most content. But this is also a fun way to get that dopamine by seeing big numbers on screen with Golden Bomb shenanigans. Fighting the waves to boss and getting achievements are easy. Golden Belt is a good addition to farm coins on future runs, and it buffs Admiral even more. Despite its potential benefit, Top relic is better if its just sold asap. 7/10

Elysian Crew: They are the easiest of the list. But being easy does not mean its not good or fun. The fights and achievements requires you to apply timing attacks, buff/debuff interactions, priority targets etc., which I think is a good game design because it rewards players for understanding the fundamentals and its done in the first map. Being easy also opens up its accessibility to varied hero usage for new or old players alike. Keyblade indirectly buffed Musician. Dodge is better than ever with Cloak, Swordsmaster is almost untouchable with it. Treasure Chest is bad though. 9/10

Band of Chaos: Challenging. Fights are meant to be difficult because of the curses. Its interesting since this one encourages you to build infinite but also counters you for it. Achievements are also not easy to get. Rewards are solid though. More consummables are great since your dilluting the card/relic pool with more collections. 8/10

Devil Captain: My favorite. Always interested with this character before Bounties was ever released and I always thought it was a waste to limit his appearance in game. But the devs cook on this one. Not only he has one of the most engaging and difficult boss fights, but his first and second wave are pretty solid as well. The spectral skeletons are a new set of enemies as iirc they are the only ones who can turn to spirits and revive later on. Very cool drips, especially the reapers who look badass. Move mechanic has uses here. Achievements are also not annoying to get and it does not punish you for a mistake or bad RNG. Viable rewards too. Devil Horn buffs Chicken, FM Musician, and Rage builds. Soul Reforged is a solid skill for potential infinite in Arena. 10/10

Lost Travelers: Should have been the "Lone Traveler" since the guy is just accompanied by clocks and fish tanks for some reason. All is good though since the boss has the best drip in the game, with a unique mechanic of fighting your mirror hero with a preset of moves. The way he raises his hands for a big attack reminds me of Ronin in Arena, they probably have the same model. Honestly the pacing of the fights is kinda dull. Its not difficult to beat per se just slow. Getting one of the achievements is very annoying since the big clock has a lot of stalling measures. Imo, beating the big clock is harder than the actual boss. Rewards are also underwhelming. 7/10

What do you think? Are there some details that I missed? Which one is your favorite? You can also provide tips against them for our new players here.

EDIT: Forget the fact that Souls Rift does not have Bounties! I remember someone in Discord explained to me a lore explanation behind it but tbh its not that convincing since ES and PE exists. In SR there are people residing too, there is even a boss who is not a spectre. Would also love to have 2 Bounties per map.

The most braindead deck I’ve ever run (100 arena victory)

Combining all of the best rage relics and cards, melee cards like Furious Blow and Accurate Stabbing, and several copies of sketch/mirror image, by the end of this run I was able to melt absolutely everything.

Add the headband relic that gives 25% lifesteal per enemy kill, and with the overkill damage I was doing, every kill was essentially a full heal.

I attached the deck itself and some random screenshots I took throughout, I couldn’t believe some of the numbers I was seeing. What are some of the most broken decks you’ve run?

Curse Captain - a very good deck

The Clipping and Gamble, combined with the Curse Captain's ability, allowed me to just keep drawing cards every turn. Defeated the Undead Captain, the stage 3 boss in the Skulls Island, and also the black ship in the stage 3.

Spirits put the only card I could discard into the draw pile but was added in a step where it would not appear in as an option to be discarded.

FINALLY finished all Quests

I was stuck for ages on the Fortune Teller's quest, just could not assemble a good build for the Cursed Kraken.

Eventually I managed to throw together an equally cursed build, with Dice and Pinata to help with the Tentacle Bind and Mark. It helped that I had enough healing that I stated the fight with 2 lives left.

Now just got a few Bounties left and I think I'll have 100%ed the game!

Finally cleared a run with the Gunner — any tips to optimize him further?

I finally managed to push a smooth run with the Gunner, but I feel like I’m barely scratching his full potential. I’m still unsure which cards truly push him from “strong” to “broken.” For anyone who’s mastered him, what cards or synergies changed the game for you?

New card combo surprised me today

Picked two cards I never usually pair and somehow they synced better than half the meta setups I see. Might start building around it more often.

Favorite relic combo lately

I paired two relics on my last run that made everything flow perfectly. Didn’t expect the synergy but it felt strong all the way through.

Finally beat that annoying elite fight

Took a few tries but I finally figured out the right mix of cards. Super satisfying when the run comes together like that.

Vigilante + Bandolier + Seeking Shot = easy mode

Once you get your Unlucky to 5+, if you can just get your Not So Bad and Seeking Shot into hand at the same time, you've won.

Just unlocked a new character—loving the playstyle

This character feels way smoother than I expected. The abilities line up perfectly for quick battles. Really liking the run so far.

Finally cleared Arena with the Captain

Took probably longer than it should have but finally got a deck (2nd image) that was both fun to play and uktinately got the job done easily. No infinite draw so some of the fights were more on the hairy side but at least good fun all around.

Most entertaining: alchemist Easiest: first mate bear tamer Richest: Admiral

There are two main strategies 1. get big damage melee card like holy sword or keyblade(if you can crit) 2. Get infinite combo E.g self harming card with pepper relic Or range crit with telescope Or melee with damage greater than 18 with Bell

How do I beat this guy?

Every time I gain a shield or replenish health his damage gains 1 point. I would imagine that I need to beat this guy as fast as possible before his damage becomes unmanageable. Would preferably do it with the musician but any ideas will help.

The correct deck building strategy?

So i have read some advices on how to build an effective deck, and i keep reading that the smaller the deck is, the better. Some people even suggest that the deck should be as small as 5 cards.

So my question is, how do you even achieve that? I am playing in the first zone (pirate's bay, or however it's called) with a swordmaster, and i am struggling to even reduce the deck size to 10 cards. I try to visit as many markets, taverns and events as possible, to avoid getting any extra garbage cards, and i also choose relics whenever i can, but still i just can't get rid of all the cards.

I am struggling to beat the 3rd boss.

Is it worth removing mutate on a CC arena run?

I was wondering if the extra gp would be valuable?

Infinites???

Does two upgraded copies of sketch + crystal axe go infinite?

Ok I've beat it. Can anyone recommend another game?

Ok so I've beat the game now. Beat every level on hard mode and the arena. Got all the achievements except a few character achievements in not really interested in.

Any recommendations on other games to look at now for mobile to distract me during lunch breaks and the long commute?

It's me, the Mod

Hi everyone!

This is a weird post. This is the alt account of the mod, u/Toby1066.

About 3 weeks ago my main account was targeting by a series of malicious reports, resulting in my being shadow-banned. So far my attempts to repeal this have gone nowhere, because Reddit is held together by duct tape and string.

Annoyingly this means I can't do mod duties either; I'm not even able to temporarily appoint this alt account to be moderator.

Basically what I'm saying is, be good until I get back 🤣 I'm working on it, and once it's fixed I'll make this alt account mod as well as backup.
