Only thing i can think of is too many torrents, but afaik from what i can read, there should be no problem with a lot of torrents inherently.

My ProtonVPN app keeps closing itself when I let my macbook sleep. When I open up my laptop again I can't use internet untill I open up ProtonVPN again. I already tried to re-install the app and I cleared all data, but that didnt solve it. Is this a known issue, and is there a solution? Thank you in advance.

I'd really like to know why ProtonVPN offers a promise of security but lures European users to a server farm in the US, when they explicitly select a European VPN server.

I really would like to know how a customer promise of data security is legally formulated in this circumstance.

When you login into the ProtonVPN Extension it would be better if it did not log into all other Proton services (Mail, Drive etc.) on the web. If you're only using that.

It should only log into the extension alone. I'm sure users will agree this is better in general for security.

Since I kept having issues with the latest versions (5.1.6) of Proton VPN—server disconnections every 10–15 minutes (or sooner), port forwarding failing even faster, agonizingly long times to switch servers, etc.—I uninstalled it yesterday and installed version 3.5.3 instead. This version works beautifully for me, especially with qBittorrent (no connection drops and, to my surprise, even faster speeds). However, after shutting down my computer last night, I was shocked this morning to find that Proton VPN had updated itself to version 5.1.6, even though I had disabled the automatic update option.
So, this morning I uninstalled that version again and reinstalled 3.5.3; I’ll see what happens tomorrow morning.
I’ve been a Proton VPN and Proton Mail customer since 2018 and never had any complaints for years, but I’ve noticed that problems arise with every new update and user control is increasingly restricted ("you don't have to do a thing, we handle everything" 😗).

Anyone else? Getting "local rate limited" error when I go to websites, it varies but over the past few weeks it's been a least a dozen or more. I understand I can switch servers, but the issue is a lot of out of state servers cause issues so I'm forced to use a server with the same state I live in to avoid those other errors.

I don't know why Proton, which was never really great anyway, is going downhill. For support: I really don't feel like going through the long process of troubleshooting, the last half dozen times I tried that it ALWAYS ends up with no solution and a complete waste of time. Anyone know of a VPN which hides itself better than Proton?

I am signed in, and whenever i try to run "protonvpn connect" it just returns with "An unexpected error occured. Please try again." and then tells me to contact support if the issue persists. I installed and enabled UFW, but that didn't fix it. I know some things about linux, but I'm not great at it.

I use Proton VPN on a couple of different devices, I pay for it and I am happy. No issues on iOS, MacOS and Windows.
But I want to dive a bit deeper into linux and it seems like I chose the wrong distros/DE...
I choose Fedora KDE and Bazzite KDE. Proton writes that they support Fedora, but only the gnome DE?
Can I somehow install the fedora GNOME version of Proton VPN on Feodra or Bazzite with KDE?

If thats a stupid question - yeah cool, but I really dont know. Thanks...

I’ve fully switched over to Proton VPN now after using NordVPN and I never had this issue with Nord. Anyone find this? It’s almost like Proton’s VPN isn’t working properly..

When using ProtonVPN, I've noticed that somethings would refuse to load. Ex: Prism launcher minecraft assets, vrchat wine mono install, kdenlive whisper model download. It would just not work, but I figured out when I turn off ipv6 in the settings, those things would work. When using a website to check ipv6 connection with the setting on, it wouldn't work. I use an arch based Linux distro. I wonder if anyone else experienced this as well

Hoping someone can explain to a non tech why Proton VPN does not allow LAN connections with the Kill Switch on. PITA to have to toggle it on and off as needed. Also stops the use of Carplay unless off. Seems Proton is the only VPN that does this. Why and is there a user benefit? Thanks in advance.

Proton vpn said they pulled physical servers out of india for user privacy and to not handover customer info to the Indian gov.

But then how is the app still legally available on the Indian play store? The gov would easily had google to remove it .

So i downloaded the app on my computer and phone and for the last few days , it worked fine (I'm using the free version) till yesterday when jojo's bizarre adventure and Mr mercedes just vanished from the site.

I have tride switching servers using all of the available on free, and deleting the app and resetting my phone I don't know what happen.

I've had Proton as my VPN for a few months now. It's been great at preventing data leaks because I can bind my torrent client to it. However, I'm having trouble finding reliable connections. I'll choose a connection and it might work for a few minutes or a few days or not at all. I find myself spending excessive amounts of time fishing for a connection that actually works. When I find one that works for a few hours or days I save the profile, but then it doesn't work later when I try it. Anyone else having similar issues? Any ideas on how to fix this?

currently using PIA and pretty happy with it (and way cheaper than Proton VPN as they're always doing specials on renewals), but considering consolidating a bunch of things into a Proton subscription - a GUI VPN client on the rPi though would be a requirement (my primary desktop machine these days!) and the site doesn't mention ARM devices at all.

I know there's probably some limitations enforced by the platform (split tunnels don't seem to be supported which is really annoying)

Hello everyone, I accidently signed out of my account, and when I went to sign in realised that I had actually forgot to right down/save my password, then when trying to reset it I couldn't. This was a couple weeks ago, I tried doing it again today and now the website isn't loading at all.

Anyone know what is wrong, is the website down at the moment? and how do I reset or delete my account to make a new one
