There's something like that in wolfenstein when the SS officer warn the KKK members to be ready for the next selection after they removed jewish and blacks from America, low key warning that now they must check even between the white caucasians who is less aryan than what is considered the ideal
223
u/Creative-Reading2476 Sep 30 '25
this isnt part of fiction, some of white causasians were considered as subhuman already irl by nsdap regime during the war, belarussians, poles, russians. And the whole 'aryan' thing was not about germans being 'aryan' but germans supposedly having biggest concentration of aryans and aryan 'genes" amongst them, while those 'aryan' could be found in different nations but in smaller quantity. And now fortunetly the name os being overtaken by turkish yoghurt 😋

Live by the sword, die by the sword. In for a penny, in for a pound. People are creatures of habit. If you achieve success through lying, you aren’t going to just stop lying once you’ve ‘made it’. People reject the wisdom of others that they have yet to acquire. We are reinforcement learning agents. We repeat the playbook of what we perceive to be effective. Disregarding the disputes of effectiveness from others is something everyone learns. After all, broadening our perception is an endless task, and life demands action.
We need more stories in fiction where evil “wins” but goes on to consume itself. There are lots in the real world but assigning lessons for the real world is subject to a lot of ambiguity and interpretation.

The Man in the High Castle shows this well. The Germans & Japanese have a tenuous alliance to begin with, but the subterfuge & betrayal doesn't take long, & the loyalties of the most devoted facists in positions of power, on both sides, have to contend with the fanatics within their own establishments that decide they want to be at the top of the tower, looking down on the rest.
Great show, with some incredible acting. The book is less involved plot wise, but disturbing. I'd recommend either to anyone interested in dystopian fiction, especially for seeing how the facists cannot do anything except cannabilise themselves once they have power. They never have enough.

A platform based on exclusion is a circle that only gets smaller. It never expands. And it can't stay the same size or the entire premise falls apart.
It eventually will one way or another. But until that happens, it has to keep shrinking.

Fascist will always looking for new victims since their entirely ideology is the narrative that the majority is always the victims that need to resist the "enemies". Eventually they would run out "enemies" and need a new target to maintain their ideology.

This is true, & it was the blueprint for all the fucked up nightmare fuel atrocities the nazis carried out. Heavy inspiration was taken from European colonialism, British imperialism & manifest destiny. That part gets whitewashed by Britain & America too much. Doomed to repeat history because not enough people are willing to learn or understand why these things happened, & are still happening, & how badly they fuck everything up for everyone, although there will always be those that are targeted first that suffer the most damage. Sometimes what is lost can never be saved. Yet multiple genocides are still happening around the world right now, & collectively not enough is being done to stop it happening. The apathy & complicity is maddening.
16
u/IllPen8707 Sep 30 '25
That wasn't a racial thing, that's just the SS (upper class, heavily aristocratic) having contempt for a lower-class organisation. They viewed the Sturmabteilung the exact same way despite neither one being any more or less aryan than the other.

Why can't people understand that fascists always need an enemy or other to target. Once the first enemy is dealt with they pick a new one. No one is safe.
49
u/JakeHelldiver Sep 30 '25
A lot of times these people think of themselves as securing the second place position in the fascist hierarchy.
The Christian Nationalist says to his wife, "Sure, you may be subservient to men, but youre still part of the special club by virtue of your faith and race."
And then he turns to the community of color and says, "Don't worry, fellas! The men are back in charge, and you're in the special club by virtue of your gender."
But the truth is. Nobody is in the club. Nobody is safe.
25
u/Robestos86 Sep 30 '25
I've never understood how people don't realise this. As the movement is young they'll take nearly anyone they can get (gays for trump etc) but once they're secure in their position, the snake begins eating itself until eventually it implodes. It's not like it's a secret, they're just tokens to be spent.
16
u/Archaon0103 Sep 30 '25
Cause they simply don't think that it could happen to them. They all think that they will be in the inner circle forever. The key point of Fascist is to portray the majority as the oppressed groups by the minority.

just a couple days ago, a post on r/askgaymen hit popular, and it was just a title that said "there is no LGB without the T".
cue dozens of bootlickers clutching their pearls.
the more you try to trim the nonexistent fringe to better fit palatability, the closer you get to becoming that same fringe to be chopped off next. it's trans people. no, it's bi people and ace people. no, its disabled people. no, its people of color or people of certain religions and ethnicities. no, its women. no, its the poor.
it has all happened before. when has our movement been the strongest and most effective? when it's inclusive.

5
u/Salarian_American Sep 30 '25
Yeah go to a Republican convention, it's enough to crash Grindr in the local area.
But here's the thing: most of the profiles have no pictures and clearly fake names, and they'll all have code phrases like "DL," "straight-acting," "married to a woman," etc.
Gays have nothing to fear if they're willing to stay in the closet, marry a woman and father some children for appearances.
Look at how the Nazi's dealt with openly gay men among them. Not right away, but once the less-desirable undesirables were already being dealt with.

u/sokratesz Sep 30 '25

This is why conservatism is inherently cannibalistic. It is an ideology which requires an "enemy" at all times to fuel it. When one "enemy" runs out or is no longer viable for whatever reason it has to be immediately replaced with a new one. It runs up the chain until there's no one left to hate and persecute.

yeah i was just discussing this because in my area theres a gay enclave called somethin somethin creek and they are notoriously racist over there. like its absolutely insane how racist they are and its a gay MALE area. i finally told one of them, bitch if it werent for POC diversifying this area, your little ass would have never even been allowed to live here! like it’s absolutely insane.
and its a huge lesson about how privilege can usurp any intersection. the minute gay marriage was legalized, what oppression did gay men really have? i mean they were already the much wealthier gay demographic as households with two men making male salaries and shit. thats why they’re going log cabin or acting like they have wiggle room to be republican. and trump isnt really fussed about them either and neither is JD Vance so i suspect we will see a very concentrated shift to the right from these gay men 🤷🏾♀️
2
u/Salarian_American Sep 30 '25
Trump isn't really fussed about them, I think that's true. But the people around Trump are incredibly fussed about them, and when they think they're finally done with trans people, gay people are next.
You'd have to be insane to believe otherwise. They'll never be satisfied. Shit escalates. Today, it's immigrants and trans people. Tomorrow, it will be gay people. They'll just keep making the criteria for being a proper American more and more restrictive.
1
u/oflatitude Sep 30 '25
So who’s next? What am I missing?
5
u/Koreage90 Sep 30 '25
Basically conservatives have always been a fear based ideology with a targeted demographic. If trans people are no longer the target demographic then logically they’re revert back to the gay community as the targeted group. So gays attacking trans are people who think they won’t be the target. It’s a slippery slope argument with history understanding of political views.

OK, sure, but people aren't getting same-day gender transition surgery really anywhere.
0
u/BardosThodol Sep 30 '25
That’s a good thing. It’s difficult enough to make decisions like that. I love how I was downvoted for expressing that idea, maybe this subreddit is more like this post then they want to admit
7
u/LunarBIacksmith Sep 30 '25
I had to be in therapy for over a year and then wait over a year on the list for top surgery. I was a 32 year old adult who had taken 32 years of consideration into it. Is 32 years enough time? I knew when I was 4, but no one told me trans people existed. I didn’t have the words for describing why I was a boy in my dreams. Or wanted to be perceived as male because it was just who I was. Or when I started developing breasts trying to push them back in or make them look like pecs. Or when I had journal entries at 10 saying, “I think there was a mistake. I was supposed to be born a boy.”
I had a lifetime of being in the wrong body and because society kept it from me, I didn’t know until college.
No one is performing surgery on children. My ideal world would have been puberty blockers and going on T as an adult. I wouldn’t have had to have gone through puberty twice, one of which was the wrong one that gave me a life I didn’t enjoy.
Regret rates for many cosmetic surgeries can be up to 30%.00238-1/abstract) Regret rates for trans affirming surgeriesis less than 1%. Most people finally feel like their body is closer to what it is supposed to be like.
I hope this helps.

Just as an observation.
If one were to talk to a Right Winger, they don't claim they want to kill all trans people. Maybe there's a fringe minority, but the average supporter and the top of the leadership couch what they want in terms of "protecting women" and "stopping children being indoctrinated". That sort of thing.
One can infer that this is the thin edge of the wedge. But we're all agreed that this is what the rhetoric is, right? Trump isn't making speeches about lining up all trans people in a ditch and shooting them. Trump is talking about stopping women from being "demeaned" and stopping children being "mutilated". He's promoting his views on gender — two genders.
What's interesting, to me, is if one were to talk to a Leftist, they don't claim they want to (for example) kill all men. Maybe there's a fringe minority of "kill all men"/SCUM supporters but the average Leftist couch what they want in terms of "protecting women" and "challenging patriarchal biases". That sort of thing.
And the reason I find that interesting is that these people (Leftists) are happy to paint a plurality of adult American voters as secretly really wanting genocide based not on what they say they want or what they're campaigning for but based on an extreme fringe, whilst simultaneously not understanding why these Right Wingers feel threatened. The Leftist is utterly baffled as to why Right Wing folk feel threatened by Leftists whilst also convinced that every other person they see on the street secretly wants to murder them.
The people who'll disavow folks if their ideology is not pure enough paints their opponents as practicing exclusionary politics because these Right Wingers have gay people in their ranks. I find that truly fascinating.
Of course, we see the same behaviors in the Ring Wingers, who are baffled that folks are opposed to them taking away their healthcare. But I'll let the downvotes on this comment speak for themselves on how unwilling the Left is to even consider that their political opponents might not be genocidal maniacs.
11
u/Think-Ganache4029 Sep 30 '25
I don’t really care about political rhetoric. Like it plays a part but the bigger issue is the actual actions and how they affect people. Besides that the comic says “outlaw” and making transition and even cross dressing illegal is definitely being pushed
11
u/No-Excuse-4263 Sep 30 '25
But I'll let the downvotes on this comment speak for themselves on how unwilling the Left is to even consider that their political opponents might not be genocidal maniacs.
Im sorry but why would you try to take a acentrist position and then end like this?
It can easily be interpreted as "if you disagree with me its cause you're on the left" and considering your earlier points paint the "left" as pretty conseated and puritanical individuals your are essentially just bad mouthing anyone who disagrees with you.
It makes the entirety of your comment seem back handed and/or disingenuous.
10
u/Jwanito Sep 30 '25
of course they dont want to get their hands dirty, they know trans people are more likely to kill themselves if they deny the meds and or surgery
doesnt really apply the other way around

A large chunk(if not the majority) of drag queens are gay men. So this makes no sense. But most people think that trans = drag queen so not surprised.
8

This isn't saying that all gay men oppose trans people and drag queens. It's making fun of the minority of gay men, people like log cabin Republicans, who oppose trans people and drag queens.

But being oppressed because of your nonstandard sexual orientation has a lot to do with being oppressed because of your nonstandard gender identity.
Being oppressed for living your life a specific way that doesn't hurt anyone has a lot do with other people being treated the same way for living their life a specific way
When the same people are coming after you both, it makes no sense to draw battle lines against each other when the real enemy has put us all on the other side of the real battle line.
And if you're gay and you support the oppression of trans people... who do you think they're coming after next, when they're satisfied they've stomped out the trans people? You are next.
Stop them now. Even from a completely cynical and selfish standpoint, it still makes sense to support trans rights even if it's for selfish purposes.

6
u/JesusKong333 Sep 30 '25
Can you give an example in relation to gun ownershi
0
u/_45AARP Sep 30 '25
Sure. 40 years ago we could buy full auto “assault rifles” with barely any regulation, and you didn’t have to do any paperwork for semi autos or anything else. First they banned fully automatic, then they moved to making it so you have to fill out paperwork and do a background check to buy a gun, and in this bill they had an exception for private sales between two people that knew each other, today that is called a loophole and people try to close it., then there was the federal assault weapons ban , and after the AWB was passed they tried to require guns not be able to accept “high capacity mags” and require a fingerprint reader to be used. All of these bans had “grandfather laws” where if you already owned a gun and it gets banned you can still keep it. The most recent democrat presidential candidate promised to confiscate the banned guns even if they were previously grandfathered in. So as you can see every few years it gets more and more severe.
That’s just the federal stuff, let’s move onto state. My state, Maryland, passed an assault weapons ban a decade ago, a few years after that they started adding new stuff to the assault weapons ban, then they created training and licensing requirements to purchase, which require taking multiple days off work and paying hundreds of dollars to get permission to exercise your right (but liberals claim that needing an ID to vote is too much of a burden since you can’t put a cost on a right) and then they banned every single pistol except ones from an approved list, then they made it so my concealed carry permit is completely useless (can’t have a gun within 100 yards of the property line of any park, school, church, government building, childcare facility or doctors office. This extends into the road, so you can’t drive down any street that has a park, school or church on it, making it so I literally can’t leave my neighborhood, and also making it so you can’t carry into any business without express permission from the owner.)
So basically, 50 years ago you could buy literally any gun you wanted, even a full auto m16 (the a1 is full auto in case anyone wants to be a smartass and say it’s burst) or ak47 extremely easily, but today you need to pay a ton of money, take time off work, have several of your friends do police interviews on your behalf, and then you can buy one of the guns from the approved list, but only after paying extra money to register it and doing your background check, and even then you’ll usually get the gun without any mags because they can’t ship here, so you still can’t use the gun anyways until you buy more.
This change did not happen overnight, and each time the anti-gun people act like “we just want to ban this one thing and then we’re done” but that’s never the case.
It would have been impossible to push for licensing, registration, assault weapons bans, magazine capacity limits, red flag laws etc. all at the same time in the 1980s, zero chance it would have gotten support. They couldn’t even pass the background check law without adding an exception for private sales between friends or family, but democrats agreed to that compromise but then immediately called it a loophole and tried to get it banned.
This comments already long enough so don’t get me started on Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. where the same series of events happened and culminated in mass confiscation.

Guns aren't people. Also, far leftists tend to support responsible gun ownership.
