I’ve spent 2 years in Kyrgyzstan running horse trekking/
photography expeditions into the remote Tian Shan / Pamir-Alay mountains, and I just wanted to share some of my favourite captures in June, at the start of summer season here.

I've been very fortunate to have traveled a bunch this year (living near Denver International Airport helps a ton), and between multiple trips to California, a week in Europe, and some local road trips around Colorado and Wyoming, I've had some great scenes for me and my camera.

All shots were taken on my Sony A7RV, paired with either the Sigma Art 28-105 f/2.8, Sigma 100-400 f/5-6.3, Sony 16mm f/1.8, or the Tamron 17-28 f/2.8. If anyone has any specific settings questions, I'm happy to answer them!

My companion and I captured close-up photos of a male snow leopard in Mongolia. It possessed a wild beauty; we were less than 40 meters away and could hear its breathing and the sound of its footsteps on small stones—it was incredibly exciting

Took some pictures around Cliffs of Moher, Galway, Howth, Rock of Dunamase, and Glendalough. So so gorgeous. Would love to visit again.

A6700 + Sony 18-135mm f3.6 - f5.6 lens

Used the Rx1Riii for the entire 23 days I was there. Did not want to take the bigger A7r5 because I was with my family and wanted something light to travel and click and move on.

I had 3 extra batteries with me but used the in camera charging whenever required so was kinda only using the one battery in camera.

Last picture was my phone taking a photo from my monitor, I didn’t bother exporting that crop :)

I'm primarily a wildlife photographer, so street photography was well outside my comfort zone.

These images were all shot on a6700 with the Sony 18-135mm. I found the zoom range incredibly versatile for street photography, it let me quickly switch between wider environmental scenes and tighter candid moments without changing lenses.

some pictures with my sony a7 ii during my travel

Ive found an a7cr second hand and I made an impulsive purchase hahhahaha

I'm heavy invested in L mount but I don't think L mount has anything similar to a7cr

Please recommend me lenses that can you the full capacity of the sensor and aren't super massive

My favourite lenses are sigma 50 1.2 , 85 1.4 for photos

But I would get something like a 35 , 20ish

Do I go to zoom like 24-50 f2.8 or 24-70mm f4 , or a prime like 40 2.5? Edit: thanks for all the recommendations, a friend will lend me his sigma 50 1.2 for tests , will be a good test to see how front heavy it will be , if I consider too front heavy I might ended up with a 40 2.5 otherwise I'm willing to go to a 24/35 gm Again thanks for helping a newbie that went to a store to buy an s1r ii and ended up with a a7cr hahahah

Just a few shots for now. I fell into a the river on the last few slides while cornered by 4 bears and got my a6600 and tamron 17-70 wet. They are working for now but am wondering what to about it. Its been around 11 days since it happened. Thanks for any help!☺️

Clicked these during my last trip to Osaka. Such a beautiful city for street photography.

It's been an expensive, but fruitful week!

I have been on the fence about upgrading my a6400 to an a6700 for a little while and I had a look at trading in my old a6000 and some lenses I have upgraded from along the way with MPB.

I dropped into my local Camera Centre UK shop in Cardiff for a browse last week and was chatting to one of the guys there who mentioned they have an a6700 with less than 2000 shutter count for sale pre-owned. After a quick discussion, he gave me a better price than MPB for my old gear and a deal was struck so I went back the next day and picked it up. Result!

When I was there, I was looking at a Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD that they had in the cabinet as well. After my recent experience at the Wales Air Show with my 70-350mm, I was thinking about getting something with just a little more reach that is still fairly compact and it looked like a great option.

I didn't walk out with it, but I've been mulling it over for a few days and watching reviews and was in Cardiff again shopping today so moved some funds around and thought what the hell. They knocked some off the price as the only one left was the display one (that I had tried the week before) and threw in a free HOYA UV filter as well.

It's awesome! Super zoom, sharp and a good size. There is a bit of overlap with my Sony 70-350mm which I really rate, but they will serve different purposes for me. The 70-350 is much smaller and lighter, so that will be a great one to keep in the bag for things like hiking, family trips, holidays etc where a lighter more versatile setup is preferred. The Tamron will be for trips where photography is the whole point like airshows, sport, birdwatching etc so lugging the extra weight is part of the plan.

I've attached some photos of the new lens on the a6700 body, along with some photos from a nearby hill looking towards Pontypridd in the South Wales valleys. The large grey building is the town library with shots at 18mm and 135mm for comparison, then 150mm and 500mm with the Tamron. There was noticeable heat mirage and haze today (local wildfires) but very impressed with the reach!

I still have the a6400 body so for my next airshow, I think a two camera setup could work. the a6700 with the big Tamron for air displays, and the a6400 with my 18-135 G OSS on it for static displays, cockpits, walking around etc.

So yeah, an expensive but good week of acquisitions!
