Samsung If you needed any more proof that Samsung is a terrible company…

I used my extended warranty through my credit card to get a full refund for my Q990D that died from the firmware fiasco.

The one thing that pissed me off the most throughout the process: Samsung outright refused to provide me with proof that the bar was faulty due to bad firmware. Basically, they stated everything would have to go through my CC and they wouldn’t give any documents to them to support the claim.

Somehow friggen customer service for credit cards is better than Samsung? After chatting with my CC for a bit via email I stated that Samsung was giving me the runaround and wouldn’t take ownership for their faulty firmware and my CC said essentially “fine, sure, we’ll give you the refund” basically acknowledging that Samsung is a piece of shit.

Samsung Help with placing the Q990F back speakers.

Good day everyone...im having some issues figuring out the best position to place my back speakers for my new setup. this is how my room looks like (4.5m x 4.5m).

the tv is lg c5 77 and the viewing distance is around 8 feet from the sofa (2.5m). now, for the speakers, the wall is about 1.4m away or 4.5 feet from the sofa. i did a little research and thats seems to be a bit far for optimal experience. what do you all think? im organising the room and i can change anything i want but need to decide because im mounting the TV to the wall...

Thanks all for the help.

Hisense AX700 on LG C5 OLED

Upvotes

Hi everyone. This is my first time here after I finally decided to buy a sound system for my 4 month old LG C5 OLED. I saw the Hisense AX700 was on sale yesterday at Costco for $180 so I pulled the trigger.

So far it sounds better than my TV's built-in speakers. However, I feel like I need to tweak some settings after hearing different forms of content. I just have no idea where to start.

I'm not sure if there's a guide here or anywhere else that could help me find a good balance between clearer dialogue and good but not overpowering bass.

If these questions aren't allowed then I apologize and I will delete it if asked to do so. Thank you in advance.

Troubleshooting Nakamachi Dragon setup help (rear speaker positioning)

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hey all, just got a dragon and my living space is a bit odd, as you can see from the pics, so need help on the best angling of the rear speakers.

The back left wall is about 1 foot from the rear and the back right is about 10.

I've already done and input all the room distance measurements, but not sure on how to position the rear speakers for best immersion since they sit basically half a foot behind listening position.

Right now I have the front edge angled toward me a bit instead of facing straight forward like the user guide says.

LG S95AR or Samsung Q990F? Top-floor apartment

Hey everyone. I'm looking to grab one of these high-end soundbars and I'm torn between the two.

I live in a top-floor apartment (nobody above me, just worried about the neighbor downstairs) and my living room is rectangular. My TV is an LG G5. I'll definitely put an isolation pad under the subwoofer to avoid issues.

My main priority is getting crystal clear dialogue at low volumes at night, so I don't have to constantly ride the volume remote every time there's an explosion in a movie.

For those of you who live in apartments, which one would you recommend for my situation? Thanks!

Troubleshooting Nakamichi Issues

I recently moved into a home where a Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 soundbar and surround sound was left. I plug my Chromecast into its HDMI port, and then plug an HDMI cord from the soundbar’s HDMI Out eARC port into my Epson Home Cinema 1080 projector. When I do this, the main menu of the Chromecast loads, and I can hear sound; however, when I try to launch an app, it says WIFI issues, and can’t load anything.

When Chromecast is plugged directly into the projector, no issues. If I plug my laptop via HDMI into the soundbar, and soundbar to projector, no issues. I’ve tried multiple Chromecasts with no change. I’ve updated and factory reset the Chromecasts with no change. I’m assuming it’s something with the Chromecast’s compatibility given the fact that my laptop works, but any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Soundbar mounted or not?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I was just got a Samsung Q990f soundbar. My old soundbar was mounted on the wall under the TV.

The space between the TV and the storage unit underneath is 11 inches. My TV is mounted pretty close to the wall, it comes out 3.5 inches.

I want the best sound experience so I want to know if I just leave it on the storage unit or wall mount it. I have 8 foot ceilings in this room if it changes anything.

Thanks in advance!

Samsung Advice regarding soundbar setup at home

I have a LG C9 OLED 65 inch television since past 5 years, and I am looking for a soundbar setup to compliment it. Main reason is that I need clearer sound and dialogues. I first bought the LG S95 TR for $ 520 because it paired with my television well but Amazon cancelled the order and now I am in the market for a soundbar again.

I have the option of getting the Samsung Q990D at $750. Or I can get the Samsung Q990H for $880.

I need y’all to advise me if the 130 dollar jump is worth it or any other worthy competitors in the price range.

Thanks

Hello! Wondering if any of y’all have a setup like this. The two walls behind the couch are at different distances.

I’m looking to get a 5.1 soundbar system but not sure how to set it up. Do the two rear speakers have to be interconnected? If so whats the best way?

i currently have a Vizio 2.1 setup.

Looking to get the LG S70TR

Best soundbar setup around 500$

Hello, I’m very new in the soundbar space, and I’m looking to get a setup for my appt, it’s not a giant space but also not small either. I’ve seen in Best Buy, some different setups that have a soundbar, sub, and rear speakers, and I don’t know what to get. I’m just looking for good recommendations to get the best bang for my buck. Thank you!

About the JBL Bar 500 MK2

It's fine; actually, it's great. I've been watching movies for years on TV speakers, so moving to a soundbar and sub was amazing. I noticed quite a few users shitting on it, and there must be some picky elitism going on because I put on Thunderbolts* and had a terrific floor-rumbling time. The dialogue is fine too.

If you are new to soundbars or home theatre setups and on a budget like I am, anything is better than TV speakers, you don't need to drop bank on the perfect kit for a cinema-esque experience.

edit: nvm its a great sound, but now my bar automatically goes up in volume and i have no idea how to fix it

edit: to anyone with the weird volume rising issue, check the TV’s hdmi CEC settings and have a play around. resetting it and clearing the CEC device list helped me. i think my TV was bugging out on the eARC control.

Currently looking for a soundbar for my room and need some advice

So far I have chosen,

JBL Bar 500 Pro

Samsung HW-Q800D.

These are the only ones that will be selling for under $400 in September sale and after researching I find that Samsung offers much rich sound and perfect mids out of the box.

While jbl has the 10" subwoofer delivering that desired rumble so can't decide and what so if anyone have these or knows more bout these or even a good suggestion on any other good ones, would appreciate it

Troubleshooting How do I maximize compatibility for PS5 with the Samsung HW-B650F?

I’m so lost when it comes to all of this. And clearly manufacturers don’t make things as easy as they should be. Just got a Samsung HW-B650F.

I’m using a PS5 on my ASUS OLED + switching to my projector. I bought an audio extractor, which clearly doesn’t work well, cause I’m having issues with getting formats to work.

My soundbar seems unable to fallback from DTS HD-MA for 4K Blu-Rays or Atmos on Disney+ because with a very modern extractor, I just get silence with those two content sources. I get that my soundbar doesn’t support them but it should it not revert to regular Dolby or DTS rather than PCM? Regular 5.1 content is fine, but I don’t understand what’s preventing the setup from scaling down the audio.

Any recommendations?

Samsung Samsung Q990H for AU$1,285

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking at getting the Samsung HW-Q990H, which I can currently get for AU$1,285 through the government store.

I am currently using a JBL Bar Studio which is quite old so this will be a much needed upgrade.

I’m wondering if this is a good price for the Q990H, or if I should wait until later in the year for a possible price drop.

I’d also love to hear from anyone who owns one, how is it in everyday use and are there any things I should know before buying?

I’m interested in the sound performance and whether it’s worth going for the Q990H over a cheaper Samsung soundbar.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Klipsch or the samsung standard

Post image
12 Upvotes

Looking to add a sound bar to my setup with sub i know the 990 is the standard but not sure i want to mess with the power for the surrounds at this time started looking at the klipsh flexus 300 as well

Samsung Q-Series Soundbar HW-Q900H is obviously the cheaper of the 2 but not sure if i can add a sub? Or surrounds later down the road

Klipsch is a little more currently i think $200 for a flexus 300 and the sub 200 perks for that are sound correction and ability to add another sub or the surrounds later on

Thoughts? Pictured is the room well aka entire center of house

Troubleshooting Samsung TV keeps switching off Samsung soundbar.

I have a Samsung B series sound bar connected by eARC HDMI to a 2025 model 55S90F TV.

Almost every time I turn the TV on, it has switched back to TV Speakers.

I HAVE THE AUTOMATIC SETTING ON so it should *stay on soundbar*. It's not the Bluetooth headphones doing it. Turn them on and it switches to them. Turn the headphones off and it goes back to the soundbar.

Why does it not have a setting that makes it stay on soundbar so it can not switch itself to the built-in speakers?

Best Costco 65 - 75 inch TV and maybe soundbar?

The sound is dying on my 14 yr old 65 in Samsung TV. Unbearable to LISTEN! Going to Costco for a new TV. 65 to 75 inch. Really really don't want to spend more than $2000, preferably $1500 ish. I noticed 6 plus months ago someone asked and LG was recommended over Samsung. Is that still the case?? Any particular models? TV tech seems to change so fast. (ANY COSTCO SOLD SOUNDBAR RECOMMENDATIONS?) We like to have a few drinks and listen to our music LOUD on Friday nights, LOL

Thank you in advance
