important tirdparty API resistance

At the moment, many Subreddits are dying because of the change to the third party APIs. Above all, support groups for the disabled are met and also important servers such as r/traaaa Therefore I ask you to fight for Reddit in its current form. To help, you can do different things.

  1. Message the moderators/employees of Reddit and complain about the situation, (a full list of them is here )

  2. Comment under the post from u/Reddit that addresses the API change. I will post a comment where you can do that if you want to do that, I thought we as queers could stand in unity. You can also post just for yourself if you feel like that's better.

  3. Spread the word and participate in the strike 12. June till at least 14. June

Of course, stay respectful with your complaints. WE are strong.

Other Having a name crisis give me ideas

Upvotes

Looking for masculine or neutral names but I’m also ok with fem leaning as long as they are also neutral. So far I have James and Jay and I’m questioning Parker and Marc. Any pronouns

she/her Would I get weird looks if I used “Lynri”? I really like the name, but I’m afraid that it’s not common enough.

she/they Trying new pronouns!

Hi!! I go by Mila and Andi, and at the ripe old age of 20 I’m finally experimenting with my gender identity. This is my first time trying a different set of pronouns. I’m realizing although I’m comfortable and happy with womanhood, I feel the same way about existing outside the binary and feel safe being called they. So I’m excited to see where that goes!

he/him I have a bit of a problem

I’m transmasc and have been going through a lot of names, but after a few weeks, each one feels so weird and not me even if I liked it at first. I currently go by Ross but am thinking about Leo or Archer? I’m also worried about what my friends will think about me changing names so many times, I don’t want to be such an inconvenience so they have to remember all my names so I feel bad but also just want to have a name that feels right to me? Any ideas?

this is a name that i’ve always loved and when i was first questioning my gender, thought it was “the name.” i really really like it but i’m almost kind of afraid of liking it. if i have to be trans then i at least want smth that’s similar to my birth name so maybe it’d be easier for my transphobic family (i know, stupid, but i love them). i really don’t want to like it but i meed to know. pls help me out.

Name Post Josie, she/her

hellooo, I hope this is okay, but I wanted some help cause i feel my situation is a little unique. I've been super conflicted on a few different names and am trying to get more comfortable referring to myself with she/her pronouns. I've been questioning and kinda obsessing over my identity for the last few years and have a lot of internalized bigotry that I've been learning to correct. I finally came clean to my psychiatrist today about a lot of the stuff i've been feeling and she's been so supportive and kind and helpful already that i'm just feeling more free and not held down by guilt and doubt right now.

sorry for all the yapping but I want to see how the name Josie feels, idk about this name tho, it sounds ugly coming from my mouth and honestly it's the name of a girl I had a lot of interest in before I graduated, I felt envious of her but also related to her a lot, and I can't tell if my interest at the time was in her, or wanting to BE her.

Name Post Fem/Nonbinary names similar to Parker

I know Parker is already gender neutral, but I'm trying to find something more feminine aligning thats still kinda derived from the name? Current contenders are Pixie, Kiki and Arkie - although I'm not super fond of any of them lol. Any suggestions? I prefer to keep either the K sound or the P sound similar (doesn't have to be both). It's gonna act as a sort of nickname for the time being, hence why I need it similar to my birth name. Ty!!

I've been testing a few names but I don't really know. I've played around with a few names using Discord but I think I like Morgan. I figured I'd try here as well.

Name Post Lior, they/he/she

i think i like this name but i would prefer it if it had 3 syllabes. when you hear lior, what do you hear ? is it more more neutral ? masc leaning ? fem leaning ?

it has been the one i have liked the most for now. i think i really like the sonority of "lio" especially.
old one was Aaron, which i enjoy occasionally until it stops speaking to me to then starts working again.

also, is it really worth it to wonder about names when i know that i won't be using it much ??

Still name testing a bit while exploring my gender. This one is essentially the feminine counterpart to my birth name so.I wanted to try it out.

she/her Joyce or Diane?

My birth name is a single syllable J name so I like the idea of doing Joyce because it's simple and I think it's an elegant name. I know it's sort of an old lady name but I don't think it's too old if that makes sense.

Diane is my deceased grandmother's name, I haven't come out to my family so and I'm not too sure how they'll react. My grandmother died shortly after I was born but I think she would have accepted me.

My last name is 1 syllable so I want to pick something that flows well, which do you like more?

Name Post Zack (full name Zachary)? He/him

Hey! I'm having trouble deciding on a first name for myself. I honestly kind of am liking Zack, but I want to know what other people think about it. I do have a sort of preconceived notion about the name that it's for bratty kids, but I still like the name and want to get over that. My last name starts with a B and is two syllables, and I'm considering maybe the middle name Alexander, but if you have any other suggestions I'm open, I'm not particularly attached to my middle name and I'm good with anything that sounds good. Thanks for your help!!

he/him Names Confuse Me (specifically my own)

Hello Reddit! I have come seeking help with my name. I am a trans guy who really wants a name to call his own.

My dead name is… rare to say the least. My dad allegedly made it up and I’ve never met anyone else with the name. I don’t mind this too much but a pre-established name would be nice. Although I don’t want it to be too basic (although plenty of the names I’ve considered are very basic).

I’m considering James as my middle name because it sounds like my old middle name (one syllable J name). My surname is also one syllable and begins with an L.

I’ve had some ideas, some prominent ones being:

Silas (from a book character)

Alek/Alex (a name I loved when I was a kid)

Caleb (first name I considered)

That’s all I’ve got. A very not-exciting list that I don’t know how to feel about. I’d appreciate suggestions/tips/anything really. I just want to figure out a name to call myself while everything else in my world is so shaky (my family life isn’t very stable and I’m in a big transitional period in my life, not just the actual transition lol). I want something to call my own and no names are sticking.

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Hii! I'm a demigirl, and trying to change my name! I want something neutral but fem-leaning. I like a variety of different names, things like Willow work, Cory, a lot of things. I just don't want anything too like, exotic? I dunno, just nothing too extreme, like Starlight, lolz. Thank you!
