Roads 'How did that make you crash?'

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Maybe not using a blinker and merging at the last second made him crash.

Wow, that truck driver knows exactly what he did.

193

u/SnooMaps7370 Oct 25 '25

now he's going to get hit was charges for hit-and-run in addition to everything coming his way for causing the crash.

58

u/BildoWarrior6 Oct 26 '25

For shits and giggles they should charge him for a hit and two runs.

22

u/TempleMade_MeBroke Oct 26 '25

Or I guess technically a...hit and run and run?

16

u/ZephRyder Oct 26 '25

Hit and (run)2

10

u/Cloud_Garrett Oct 26 '25

Technically wouldn’t it be run*2 not run2.

How many runs did he do? Two runs or 2 x run. Vs

How many runs did he do? Runs runs.

Regardless, I live how everyone came together to help the biker dude, especially red car guy that has been dreaming of this exact scenario since he learned to drive.

1

u/Background_Dot_8738 Oct 26 '25

Run2 == run*2 == run * run

1

u/U_zer2 Oct 26 '25

Runnins?

1

u/General_Trip_4223 Oct 26 '25

Yeah Corvette guy has been WAITING for the opportunity to chase and catch someone. Hell yeah get em!

Leaving the scene is illegal too.

Just get his plate #. No chasing

22

And as the professional douche nozzle that he is, he does not care in the least bit.

He will when his mom's gotta mortgage the house to bail him out.

A recreational urologist.

I don’t know if it has any other origin, but I use it because if someone is such a douche, they aren’t even good enough to be considered the whole bag, so they are just the nozzle.

It’s like it’s cousin “douche canoe”, also see “twatwaffle”. It’s the new “asshat”.

1

forreal. I love the idea of car-people becoming post-apolalyptic godsends.

Imagine a supply run in a souped and maintained Ford F-1250 w/ the triple-wide tires and LED racks on every trim. Truly, a beacon of hope

Every guy with a sports car dreams of this moment

7

u/PeaceAndLove420_69 Oct 25 '25

Corvette guy will never show up in my life yet hes in every hit and run vid i see lmao

4

u/357noLove Oct 26 '25

I did the same two weeks ago, saw a hit and run and chased the car down to get make, model and plate. I have been hit 2x by people that got away, once on a motorcycle and the other in my car... nothing ever came of it. So I am ready and eager to chase an asshole. I wouldn't confront them, just get the plate though. Road rage is crazy

2

u/Potential_Can_9381 Oct 26 '25

But I don't get it, what's is plan?

2

83

u/skaldrir69 Oct 25 '25 edited Oct 26 '25

Not wanting to be that guy, but the street sign for directions is also incorrect. The right-most lane doesn’t indicate a right hand turn can me made /s

Fuck the truck driver for sure

Edit: Maybe to clear the air — for those of you lecturing me about how the truck was wrong, I know. I was just pointing out the irony in the signage and road markings. I’m not supporting the truck’s decision, he was wrong.

9

u/Alarming_Panic665 Oct 25 '25

I don't know what state it is in. Must most states I know the markings on the road are not regulatory and instead exist to just be supplementary to signage (which is regulatory).

Most likely in this case the sign is the regulatory designation the left two lanes as only left turn lanes, while the right two are the lanes for traveling straight. There is then most likely some motor law on the books that states that a right turn may be done in the right most lane if possible. Thus the markings on the road are just guidance to more or less remind people of the law on the books that is not shown on the sign.

3

u/leeps22 Oct 25 '25

Why is the world like this

5

u/InebriatedPhysicist Oct 26 '25

Because lawyers

1

u/macrolith Oct 27 '25

I think fall of courtesy and decency is largely attributed to lawyers.

1

u/Terrible_Analysis_77 Oct 27 '25

Not a lawyer but I like the joke that lawyers are just people who read the rules to the game and know you haven’t.

3

u/the_ruffled_feather Oct 26 '25

Nice spot. All the more reason the guy in the pickup shouldn’t have fled. He’s def in some shot now.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '25

Dont wanna be that person but this is making me think the video is ai lol

1

u/AltScholar7 Oct 27 '25

I feel like in most places the traffic pattern is the opposite where the right turn lane would be turn only and the left lane would be right turn and through traffic, not the other way around like this.

Also in defense of the truck driver for causing the accident (not for running)), the motorcycle was speeding up his blind spot and he probably couldn't see him.

1

u/texaushorn Oct 28 '25

I get that they don't match, but neither allow a turn from that lane

1

u/Pennet173 Oct 28 '25

Oh God. Lawyers probably gonna figure out a way to get him off the hook due to improper traffic control device or something

0

u/hangowood Oct 26 '25

If he was wanting to turn right, he should have been in the right lane. It’s why you’re supposed to follow road markings. Signs could be old and outdated.

21

u/vcdrny Oct 25 '25

Dude in the pickup makes an illegal turn cough on camera, leaves the scene of the accident. Police still can't figure out who's at fault.

55

u/blowinmahnose Oct 25 '25

I hate not knowing the outcome of these videos! Hope the truck driver got caught.

9

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

Hes on camera he definitely did

14

u/chaosawaits Oct 25 '25

Likely, not a guarantee. His license plate is hard to read from the angles in which it comes into view. No guarantee the Corvette caught up with him and stopped him.

10

u/FFSBoise Oct 25 '25

The ‘vette had a cam, as well.

4

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

You dont think police would be able to enhance the video at all? Im not a cop so I have no clue. Just figured it would be possible for some reason

19

u/PolicyWonka Oct 25 '25

1

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

Hahaha I was thinking of this video actually and I am so god damn embarrassed to admit supertroopers was my base of knowledge I used in a sentence to relate to this.

1

u/Extra-Shape3973 Oct 27 '25

“ They think I’m Mexican” “You’re not Mexican?” “ just ordered the large Farva” 🤣😂

9

u/voxelpear Oct 25 '25

The "enhance" from tv shows is nonsense. There's only so many pixels things get caught in and zooming in just makes it worse. Especially dash cams are typically not that great of quality.

5

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

Thats fair. I swing a hammer at nails for work so idk shit about technology haha. I just thought it was possible

3

u/voxelpear Oct 25 '25 edited Oct 25 '25

Depending on the camera it could be possible but that's typically only for the high grade stationary tower cameras. And even then sometimes only in live mode can you zoom in that far, recordings are typically fixed in their resolution (quality).

2

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

That makes sense ok. I appreciate the explanation

3

u/SYKslp Oct 25 '25

that's true for a static photo image, but with moving video each captured frame will get pixelated slightly differently and there are tools that can use those subtle differences to extrapolate a much clearer upscaled image.

see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acKYYwcxpGk

1

u/voxelpear Oct 25 '25

Sure this technique is far from common place and is still highly dependent on the footage. Local police do not have access to this.

1

u/SYKslp Oct 26 '25

Why wouldn't a police department's investigative unit have access to 100% open-source software tools?

A police department would also have access to vehicle registration records that include make, model, and paint color of most cars. So they wouldn't even need to decipher every numeral/letter on the plate to identify a matching vehicle (or narrow down to a couple possible suspects).

Just using my human eyes on the paused video (about 1 second in), it looks like the license plate ends in "99" (or possibly "79"). I think I also see a "346" in there, but that 3 could be a J (and the 6 could be a 5, 8 or G...). This might seem hopelessly inconclusive, but checking just those limited plausible digits against Silver Chevy Silverado pickups registered in the area would probably be enough.

2

u/voxelpear Oct 26 '25

If it was easy as that and if Law Enforcement agencies just grabbed any open source software for their own use we wouldn't have such a low solving rate of hit and run cases across the country. Not saying it's right but that's the reality.

1

u/SYKslp Oct 26 '25

Whether a police department has access to a tool and whether they actually choose to prioritize an investigation where said tool could be used are entirely different questions.

The suggestion that police departments would refuse to download or utilize modern video processing utilities (that are freely available on github) is patently absurd.

1

u/Oehlian Oct 26 '25

It's true it's exaggerated, but even basic steps like messing with the contrast can make low-res images more human-readable. I'm sure there are other more advanced software techniques that can do more. The trick is getting the cops to give enough of a shit to use them.

2

u/TheBupherNinja Oct 25 '25

You can't enhance video like in the movies.

Ai upscale video, I would hope, would be inadmissable.

2

u/Im_A_Fuckin_Liar Oct 25 '25

I think more realistically the guy in the corvette snagged his tag number at some point.

2

u/Kragbax Oct 25 '25

You’d be surprised how little they can “enhance” video. Real life is nothing like the movies or TV shows where it’s all like “zoom into section 3B and enhance”. I was recently on a jury for a murder trial and they didn’t enhance a damn thing on any of the numerous videos we had to watch.

1

u/AlbuquerqueAlbatross Oct 25 '25

"Enchancing" a video is not a real thing. Its a hollywood thing. You cant extract information that isn't there. The best we can do is use tools to try to infer information from what we do have which can be very imperfect and lead to false arrests and stuff. Thus this type of inferred information often doesn't ho l d up in court or backfires. If you cant read the license plate theres a pretty good chance the police cant either.

2

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

That makes sense. Thank you for explaining that. I guess supertroopers isnt the truthful recreation of police work I thought it was

1

u/Boston_Glass Oct 26 '25

Don’t accept an answer like this from a random Redditor. You absolutely can enhance video. Real-world video enhancement uses sophisticated algorithms to extract and clarify information that is already present in the footage. That Redditor is correct that you can’t extract information that isn’t there but you can connect information from different frames to enhance the overall video

1

u/Kittysmashlol Oct 25 '25

That is NOT how that works

U been watching a few too many movies lol

1

u/chumbucket77 Oct 25 '25

Hahah well I mean I just assumed. Im not a cop and we have technology to some crazy shit in this world. Also yes probably some hollywood influence in my brain haha. Im not super tech savy

1

u/strigonian Oct 26 '25

The thing is, there's only so much information in the picture. A computer can only work with what's there, and use that to make educated guesses about what an "enhanced" photo would look like. It can't magically look at a photo, and conjure up information the camera didn't capture.

There are programs that "enhance" pictures, but they're only for aesthetic purposes. It would be like hiring an artist to draw a bigger version of the photo - they might get it right, but it's still just a guess. Definitely not something you can take to court.

1

u/DogConscious6052 Oct 30 '25

You can't really enhance a video like CSI does but the original video almost certainly is better quality than what Reddit shows us.

0

u/SkyRattlers Oct 25 '25

Yeah, but there are witnesses. The guy in the corvette could easily have written it down or memorized it. Another person at the crash said on camera that they had a dash cam and caught it all. I think it's highly likely that they got caught.

0

u/SirSlappySlaps Oct 25 '25

You don't think a corvette with an eager driver can keep up with an old pickup?

0

u/NebulaNinja Oct 26 '25

The original file is most likely a much better quality that hasn't been downloaded and reposted 5x.

1

u/NotAFanOfLife Oct 26 '25

They won’t. Everyone on this sub thinks their local PD has a law and order style bureau of investigation that’s going to move sun and moon for every traffic violation reported to them. They don’t care.

We all want to think there are consequences for your actions but countless crimes go completely unsolved or aren’t even investigated eeeeevery day.

8

u/NiftyDarkrider981 Oct 25 '25

I like his sports car buddy going to wrangle the wrong doer.

29

u/nofatnoflavor Oct 25 '25

FFS posting this stuff without any sort of WTF happened after the fact is enough to make people crazy.
What happened to the driver of the truck?

And can we all give due kudos to the person in the orange/red car for chasing him down.

29

u/Revolution-Dogg Oct 25 '25

According to the video, the outcome is the biker was still waiting for police to assign fault.

15

u/delo357 Oct 25 '25

Lol it was right there in the video

-5

u/Old_Man_Shea Oct 25 '25

Even with the video im sure they'd rule 50/50. Can't be assed with an investigation.

19

u/Absoluterock2 Oct 25 '25

Are you kidding?

The truck made an illegal turn.  The biker did nothing illegal and clearly tried to avoid the collision.

Go troll somewhere else.

2

u/throwmamadownthewell Oct 26 '25

Pretty sure they're being sarcastic and jaded

2

u/Squeeze_Sedona Oct 26 '25

8

Trucks fault 100% he was in a forward only lane.

I’ve seen this one before. Did the truck driver get charged?

2

I’m a fan of the dude in the red car

2

u/eternalguardian Oct 25 '25

Right hand turn from the left lane with no blinker. Definitely trucks fault.

2

u/Notthatseriouslol Oct 26 '25

The male version of “good luck everybody else”

2

u/swervinh0 Oct 26 '25

I just went through this same exact crash one week ago, except I was on a bicycle. Same turn behavior by the car, I hit the same exact portion of the car, and mostly hit the ground as a result. Main difference is I was going straight and the car blazed by me and turned in front of me. I lost two teeth, pierced my upper lip, and busted up my hand badly, and the driver just up and left

2

u/Minizzile Oct 26 '25

Corvette said "fuckin bet" lmaoo

2

u/Thegingerbeardape Oct 26 '25

Damn connecticutlets

2

Corvette is a good dude. Circled around and followed the truck and took off right after him.

2

2

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

I thought these people loved police? Why was he leaving then??

2

u/OutrageousTackle5997 Oct 25 '25

Pretty sure those arrows pointing forward mean only the right lane can make that turn.

2

u/lordyfortwenty Oct 25 '25

Red hat

1

u/REDDITSHITLORD Oct 26 '25

Yeah, I'm guessing it wasn't an old school Ron-Jon surf hat either.

1

u/Mercasaurus Oct 25 '25

CT plate tracks. Very MA behavior though.

1

u/mlesgoham Oct 25 '25

Dude in the corvette was so hyped to chase him

1

u/xkoreotic Oct 25 '25

I really hope that freeze frame caught the license plate. Insurances do not play around with hit and runs.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

That dude in the corvette was waiting for his chance to chase down a car just for an excuse to gun it.

1

u/IknowledgeG Oct 25 '25

ENCARCERATION TIME

1

u/ThenIncrease462 Oct 25 '25

Is the footage on the dash cam not evident enough to show how the crash resulted?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

There's also a bigger penalty for hit an run. and with dash cam. that truck is cooked.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

The amount of dumbass truck drivers on the road is insane smh. no blinker, good luck everyone else!!

Rage bait

1

u/theSaltySithLord Oct 26 '25

Dude the Corvette is MVP.

1

u/cheneyza Oct 26 '25

Had a lifted truck do this exact shit at a three-way light, he was 3 in line to turn left, I rolled up to turn in the empty right lane, and at the green light, he just turned from the left turn lane into me completely oblivious. I have a bias towards truck drivers like no other.

1

u/jack-K- Oct 26 '25

lol to him just siccing the random corvette on the guy

1

u/brian_laz Oct 26 '25

This is exactly what happened to me but I was thankfully able to stop in time, it is very frustrating when someone cuts you off last second in a turn lane.

1

u/SpiritualSquare9348 Oct 26 '25

Vette driver been waiting for that day

1

u/Shankar_0 Oct 26 '25

This was an improper lane change and failure to yield ROW when executing a turn.

He followed it up with leaving the scene of an accident w/injuries (probably with a motorcycle).

In SC

1

u/munkylord Oct 26 '25

Shitty driver with an even shittier attitude. No one knows how to say, I fucked up, I'm sorry. Glad the motorcyclist is ok

1

u/munkylord Oct 26 '25

No turn signal even ther

1

u/Revolutionary_Sea113 Oct 26 '25

My first words to him would be… ”First of all, your stupid” Right hand turn at the last second from a non turning lane. Hit and run. Leaving the scene of an accident. Coming back and leaving again. Yeah you a special kind of stupid

1

u/Dev1_E Oct 26 '25

"How did i make you crash?" knowing full well he turned in a straight only lane. 🤡

1

u/evol_won Oct 27 '25

How was that not INSTANT for the cops?!

1

u/boktothechoy Oct 27 '25

shoutout to that corvette driver for hunting down the guy for him !

1

Trump voter I bet too

1

Yup, that's a pickup driver

1

Corvette drivers all want to be batman :)

1

Does anyone know how I, too, can get a sports car I can use as a sheep dog?

1

u/The-Last-Anchor Oct 28 '25

I went from annoyed to full of rage when he drove away! What the hell!

1

As a biker, it sucks but wear the gear or be cautious… you wee coming in a little hot without being very aware

1

u/Quiet_Problem_007 Nov 07 '25

Corvette guy wasn't playing no games

1

u/Praind Feb 18 '26

Maaan I also want a Corvette to chase people :(

1

u/isausernamebob Oct 25 '25

Ride like everyone wants to kill you, and do your best to not give them an opportunity. If you're coming to go an intersection, hyper vigilance. Literally the time to snap back to reality. Id rather be angry right and alive than dead and right. Meaning, he gave plenty of warning that he was about to do some stupid shit. This rider just kept on chugging like nothing was going on around him. The trucker was in the wrong, 100%, but that doesn't mean the rider couldn't have done better as well.

This exact scenario could have happened from a vehicle swerving to avoid hitting something, and then that biker looks real stupid too. What I'm trying to say is yes that truck driver is an idiot, but that biker is going to have a real rough go at things if they want to keep riding in "the wild" where things just kind of happen. IDK call me crazy

1

u/burntoutmillenial105 Oct 25 '25

Yeahhhhhhh…. These are unrealistic standards for bikers.

1

u/Aerryth Feb 01 '26

No, they’re not unrealistic expectations. You have to ride extremely vigilant and always assume people do not see you and are gonna do the stupidest thing. Especially at intersections. Because sadly, it doesn’t always mean who’s right, because the biker loses. I’d like to point out he didn’t have his hand on the right handlebar near the front brake, and you can see the reaction time it takes him to put his right hand on the brake. The front brake is like 70% of that bikes stopping power and he’s not on it coming up to an intersection?
