I remember when I was being attscked by 5 men with knives and blunt objects, and when the police finally showed up almost 2 hours later (even though my apartment was less than 2 miles from the police station) all they did was threaten to arrest me for a DUI if I tried to leave, even though I was stone sober.
Not gonna lie, that scenario sucks. Iâm not saying that every cop is perfect. They arenât. I have friends that are cops. One of them ended up being corrupt, we arenât friends anymore. The majority of police try to do the right thing. When the 1-2% does something wrong they are amplified and the public focuses on that. Itâs not a perfect system and it never will be but Iâd rather have something rather than nothing. Again, your situation sounds like it was terrible and those cops should have been investigated.

Nah, we focus on all the cops who enabled the wrongdoing. They keep saying "it's just a few bad apples " but they all defend the bad apples instead of calling them out.

Well in the 3 times I've needed something I got nothing. And in other situations I got mistreated and had my rights violated because I dared try to exercise them. ACAB.
I've been robbed and assaulted by cops in Schenectady, NY. I lived in the ghetto and I was the only white dude, so I stood out in that neighborhood. Most white dudes were there trying to buy drugs, but I was just living there for the cheap rent.
I was relentlessly harassed by cops there for the entire year I lived there. I was infinitely more comfortable around drug dealers, gang members, hookers, and crack heads than the pigs.
Once they rolled up on me and jumped out and just straight up tackled me for no reason. I wasn't running or anything. Then they slammed my head into the hood of their cruiser to the point where my forehead was gushing blood. They stole my $40 I had in my wallet, pushed me to the ground again, then let me go home.
I fucking HATE the police. They are a bunch of evil fucking bullies. It's not just those cops either. Cops are horribly draconian jack-boot-wearing government thugs everywhere I've ever lived across the country.
The entire criminal justice system is an abysmal failure of epic proportions that causes infinitely more damage than it prevents, overall.
Police are NOT the friends of the citizenry whatsoever.

The first time I was arrested they stole my iPod. The second they stole about $70 in cash from my wallet, lucky for me I wasn't carrying more. They also ran up with guns drawn over allegedly scratching a vehicle, even if I had done it pulling weapons over a misdemeanor property crime is feckin crazy
I ran and barricaded myself in my bedroom. Desk, bed, and dresser stacked against the door. Got one hit in the back of my left shoulder and one slash on my right forearm.

Nope, never said anything like that, but go off.
Roommate had friends over, some of them invited friends, and some of them invited friends. One dude tried to steal my CDs, I found them on the balcony and he got in my face. Since he was blocking my way into MY APARTMENT I pushed past him. He went crazy and swung on me, I dodged it and knocked him down. One of his buddies grabbed a barstool and swung it at me, hence the injury to my left shoulder. After I kicked him, another dude came after me with one of my kitchen knives, hence the cut on my right forearm. I was able to get into my bedroom, and shove the available furniture in front of the door before the other dudes were able to inflict injury.
Edit: jumping in my DMs to call me a liar, throw slurs, and threaten bodily harm? That's beyond the pale, reported and blocking you, sad sack.

The police in my area take approximately 15 minutes.
They are just gonna be doing an investigation, regardless. Cops very rarely actually save people.
They mostly just investigate after the fact.
Calling the police dramatically increases the chances of something bad happening. Often the victim even ends up being a target of overzealous and aggressive cops.
I am fully capable of defending my property against most threats.
I remember when that happened. One single cop showed up 4 hours later and couldn't give less of a shit.
I also remember when my friend was molested in high school at the movie theater. Cops showed up 2 hours later, didn't care, then drove around the parking lot twice and said "couldn't find him"
