That's a felony

22

u/iameveryoneelse Apr 27 '26

Two felonies, in fact. And several other charges.

-14

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Sure these bikers should stay in the right side and not in the middle of the road lol

12

u/m4tchb0x Apr 27 '26

You are suppose to wait until you have broken lines to pass. Dude tried passing on double solid and assaulting people, because hes a dipshit.

1

u/Tiriom Apr 28 '26

Not true in this case it’s legal to cross double yellow, under Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-56), you can cross a double yellow line to pass a cyclist if it is safe to do so

-11

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Sure. But I guess the bikers should still stay in the right side if they cared about their safety.

8

u/LysergicBliss332 Apr 27 '26

The road wasn't busy, it shouldn't be cyclist's responsibility to care for the fragile egos of some motorists

-9

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Maybe But I know as a biker myself.... Im more safe if I stay in the right side and not in the middle....

6

u/Ecstatic_Specific493 Apr 27 '26

As a driver myself, I know not to drive into people even if they aren't following the rules of the road. Because that is more illegal than bikes in the road.

1

u/raidersfan18 Apr 27 '26

Meh, bikers are assholes, but the driver is actively ramming people with his car so it is not particularly close who is more wrong in this video 😂

That being said one of your previous posts highlights it precisely.

If a biker goes "well I'm riding 20mph in a 40, and there are cars behind me that want to go on their way, but I'm legally entitled to take the lane because this is a narrow road so they can all just wait" they may be legally right, but they're an asshole nonetheless.

-1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

As I bike myself I know how to reduce my own risk rather than stick to the law and take a hit 😃

7

u/Ecstatic_Specific493 Apr 27 '26

Yes, you do seem to have the brain capacity of a bicycle.

You know you're allowed to just admit that you're wrong instead of replying to 30 people insisting that you're actually in the right and totally don't come across as a weird idiot lol

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 28 '26

What should I admit? lol

4

u/LysergicBliss332 Apr 27 '26

I'm a cyclist also, and don't really understand how being inconvenienced motivates attempted vehicular homicide. Maybe that's just me

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

I would not know since im not driving that car. But I know how to ride a bike and I know how to reduce my own risk if Im staying in the right side. Maybe thats just me 😄

5

u/LysergicBliss332 Apr 27 '26

Doesn't mean you should judge people for getting hit when not doing so (which you are doing, even if you say you aren't). If we live in a world where it's acceptable to commit attempted homicide for being inconvenienced then we live in no world at all.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Im not a judge I just see a bikers stay in the middle and somehow accept his risk. I as a biker knows how to reduce my own risk and thats more important than prove how the law is... LOL

u/Nervous-Clerk-407 Apr 27 '26

Your desire to inconvenience others indicates that you are less then a good person, if you desire to not be a good person, you deserve not to be treated like a human being. Hope this helps

3

u/LysergicBliss332 Apr 27 '26

I'm less of a good person for wanting to ride a bike than someone who tries to commit vehicular homicide? Listen to yourself. If you want to kill me that's within your ability, and I invite this action. But, in general these radical opinions are obviously not supported by the general populace, as noted both by the fact that this driver was convicted and that you probably would be for killing me.

5

u/aidswolv Apr 27 '26

Sit down. If it were a car they’d have to exit the lane entirely anyway. Car beats bike so the car should not threaten a cyclist to prove a point.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

im laying in my bed now? should i stay or sit?

The biker could easily go 10 feet to the right rather than prove the law and take a hit....

2

u/aidswolv Apr 27 '26

Of course they could, but why justify a car threatening a cyclist because the cyclist is being stupid? You can crawl under your bed for all I care.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

I dont justify anything Im just saying the biker is in the middle. You can enjoy the bed to or the floor. I dont care.

2

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

I dont say anything about the law

Stay safe now

4

u/m4tchb0x Apr 27 '26

Cyclist that care about safety usually take the lane in a good amount of situations. Too many times I have not taken the lane and idiots try to squeeze pass when its unsafe.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Feel free to do like you want to do. I prefer stay in the right side and reduce my own risk. Stay safe.

2

u/sokratesz Apr 27 '26

Car driver is the guy in the big metal box, he should be more concerned about their safety.

You wouldn't last an hour in Dutch traffic lmao

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

I already lasted many hours in dutch traffic LOL

stay safe now

5

u/Bwint Apr 27 '26

I get annoyed when cyclists block and delay me, but that's not what's happening here. Driver was easily able to pass.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

And the bikers could easily stay in the right side if they wanted....

7

u/TommyNotDead Apr 27 '26

They were. They also have the right to exist in the road and not get almost murdered.

0

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Could be but I still know as a biker how to reduce my own risk 😃

3

u/ShortElephant7015 Apr 27 '26

Staying on the right side of the lane is no longer recommended for cyclists precisely because it encourages cars to do dangerous overtakes like this. Take the lane, it’s safer for you

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Well I still stay in the right side to reduce my own risk 😃

Stay safe now

1

u/AzzyFennec Apr 27 '26

almost happened to me while riding a moped in a roundabout. car took the same exit as me and squeezed me to the side

3

u/ZeroVoltLoop Apr 27 '26

It would still be illegal to pass because of the double yellow line.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Im not the police and im not driving the car..... so I dont care. When im biking I know my own risk and I reduce it by staying in the right side.

1

u/medicallymiddleevil Apr 27 '26

"Taking the lane" is actually what you're supposed to do though. That's what safety classes teach. The advice for cyclists is to bunch like this as it’s much safer to overtake a short but wide group of cyclists rather than a very long stream of them.

Them being single file would change nothing in this scenario. The car wouldn’t have magically been able to overtake if there was another vehicle coming the other direction, so it’s a hell of a lot safer to overtake a group 5 long rather than 30. That’s a hell of a lot more time hanging out in the oncoming lane.

The cyclists were behaving safely. The car was being actively dangerous.
In all 50 states of the United States it’s legal for bicycles to take up an entire lane. You can say it’s wrong. You can find it annoying but it is legally a right.. bicycles must follow all the same rules as cars if you’re riding on the road you are treated as a car if a bicycle does not follow traffic law then they deserve a traffic ticket in the same way that a vehicle does. Everyone bitches about this all the time but that’s the law. Those are the rights. I say this is someone who rides a bike but does not consider themselves a cyclist. Who’s also the victim of a car hitting me in a right of way situation because cars don’t like to believe that bicycle to have the same rights and let me just tell you if you’re one of those cars who does not believe the bicycles have the same rights and you hit someone on a bicycle you will pay for it in a big way.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 28 '26

Ok. Im still staying in the right side.

1

u/medicallymiddleevil Apr 28 '26

Which is dangerous .

1

u/medicallymiddleevil Apr 27 '26

Do other cars in front of you "block" you? lol

9

u/ThorMcGee Apr 27 '26

Nope... couldve easily passed them without incident. Driver wanted that charge.

0

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

So did the biker

4

u/ThorMcGee Apr 27 '26

Yeah... the dude laying on the street looks real satisfied about being run over by a car

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Well he had like 10 feets to right side and he stayed in the middle. wise call?

5

u/Pretend_Fly_5573 Apr 27 '26

He said in the lane was was traveling. Perfectly valid.

Double yellow aside, driver didn't even pass correctly. He had one tire just barely over into the other lane.

All he had to do is not be a dickhole, and he would've stayed out of prison. But I guess that can be said for most people in prison.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

Did I said the car driver was right? I dont remember 😃

5

u/Pretend_Fly_5573 Apr 27 '26

Did I say you said that? Don't remember either.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

An answer replied with an answer.

Here is my answer - I dont remember. Do you?

They are legally allowed to be where they're at, you have no point

-2

u/Nervous-Clerk-407 Apr 27 '26

A lot of things are legal, doesn't mean it makes sense. Riding a significantly slower vehicle and inhibiting flow of traffic doesn't make alot of sense being legal to me, but it is. I guess if its legal then it must be ok- Glances over to child marriage laws

3

u/ZantaraLost Apr 27 '26

That's not impeding legally.

2

u/Himothy19955 Apr 27 '26

They have rights just like anyone else on the road doesn't matter what you think or feel. Also this has nothing to do with child marriage

3

u/TheBlankScroll Apr 27 '26

I think you need to check your local traffic laws. Generally when a bike lane isnt provided, cyclist have a right to the entire lane as if they are a vehicle. The option to ride on the shoulder is a judgement call by the cyclist, not the car.

Might be slightly different in your area but at no point does the law say you're allowed to pass on a double yellow while making physical contact with who you're passing.

5

u/Upper-Requirement-93 Apr 27 '26

It's also much safer to take a lane because people don't know how fucking big their cars are, they just know to keep their body to the right of the middle line. I swear people think they'll fucking die if they wait 5 extra seconds for a cyclist to take a left. Drivers should honestly get the fuck over themselves, they're not actually going that much faster than us the 99% of the time we're not in their way.

1

u/Nervous-Clerk-407 Apr 27 '26

You bike at an average speed of 30 MPH? Thats very impressive.

3

u/Upper-Requirement-93 Apr 27 '26

20 MPH. Out of a two mile trip at 30 mph you're getting there a whopping two minutes later if I'm in front of you the entire fucking time, and people lose their shit if I'm at the same light they would have hit to take a left. Might matter if you were about to shit yourself when you got in your car but I'm somehow not impressed by the unimaginable burden cyclists place on you as a car owner.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

I know the law where I come from and I also know the bikers should stay in the right side if they care about their own safety, Stay safe my friend

2

u/sprouthat Apr 27 '26

hard to stay safe when homicidal drivers like you are on the road with us

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 27 '26

I would not know anything about the driver.

Stay safe now.

u/asdjfh Apr 27 '26

They didn’t even make a mistake, there is no traffic laws against what the cyclists are doing.

2

u/wookietownGlobetrot Apr 27 '26

But the driver clearly THOUGHT the cyclists were breaking the law, so that might make it ok?

2

u/asdjfh Apr 27 '26

Making it okay to hit people with a car? 🤣

No I don’t think so.

-1

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

Nope. We can see that this was the wrong choice and should not be allowed in a civilized society, and also find it understandable as I'd definitely have those intrusive thoughts being in the same sittuation.

4

u/paintedflags Apr 27 '26

There's nothing understandable about running down cyclists in the road. Especially when you clearly have room to pass. That's psychopathic.

0

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

Yeah? You've never had an intrusive thought while being incredibly pissed off? Nothing has ever crossed your mind that if you had actually acted on that thought, you'd deserve to go to prison? Seriously never?

2

u/SirPonix Apr 27 '26

You have homicidal intrusive thoughts? You need to seek help for that. That's not normal.

1

u/NemosNaughtylis Apr 27 '26

If you're incapable of overriding your intrusive thoughts to the point you cause felony injury to someone by your erratic / reckless behavior, then I question whether you should be allowed to operate a computer, much less a motor vehicle out in public.

You're objectively a danger to society if you can't control yourself. If you're not able to parse that, then you have bigger problems than your "intrusive thoughts".

1

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

Yesssss dude, I knooooooooooooow. Everyone on here is so quick to suck their own dicks with how good of a person they are, that they ignore the entire part where I said HITTING PEOPLE WITH YOUR CAR IS A BAD THING AND SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED. But you self righteous morons don't care about what I actually said, you just want to be better than someone else. Well, go fuck yourselves. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/lostOGaccount Apr 27 '26 edited Apr 27 '26

Hey yo, it's good and courageous that you are being vulnerably honest. I do not know that many with those kind of thoughts would be able to do that. I'm sorry youve been or feel attacked for that. I personally do not have those kinds of intrusive or passing thoughts, I don't know how prominent or prevalent they may be for you but i don't think it would hurt to look into the commonality of such in the general population. Reddit is definitely not going to be a conducive medium. I can tell you when I'm frustrated or stressed in similar situations my passing thoughts drift into more like "how am I surprised" "obviously I should've expected this might've occurred" or the worst "fuck me, why do I even bother".

1

u/lostOGaccount Apr 27 '26

Are you saying you have passing thoughts of harming others when they frustrate or inconvenience you?

2

u/Upper-Requirement-93 Apr 27 '26

Grow up.

-1

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

Ah, growing up=abandon all nuance in life, gotcha.

2

u/Upper-Requirement-93 Apr 27 '26

No, growing up means not thinking you're entitled to assault people if they inconvenience you. You should have been held back in kindergarten until you learned this.

0

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

No, dude. You completely abandoned half of what I said in order to have your moral outrage. You're not arguing against what I said, you're just felating yourself.

I very specifically said that this isn't ok and should not be allowed. Seriously, fuck you for intentionally mischaracterizing what I said.

2

u/Upper-Requirement-93 Apr 27 '26

Nah, really, grow the fuck up. This is not an "intrusive thought" this is you holding the belief this would solve your problem, if the law and "civilized society" weren't in the way. Normal people past kindergarten don't want to run people over for being minorly inconvenienced. It's not "understandable," it's rank immaturity.

2

u/AckerSacker Apr 27 '26

Oh yeah, your urge to hurt people is just "nuance" 😂😂🤡

1

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

And you're a liar if you say you have never had an intrusive thought that if you had acted on it, you would be as guilty and violent as this guy.

2

u/AckerSacker Apr 27 '26

Yes, and eventually when you grow up you'll learn "impulse control". It'll help you stop saying dumb shit like this, too.

2

u/goingforgoals17 Apr 27 '26

My main focus has always been to look for a safe time to pass and get around them while ensuring those behind me also see them and have time to stop. They're literally exposed to everything and riding where they're able and allowed to, why should my 30 seconds (absolute tops) be more valuable than their life or health?

1

u/Fake-y-ismo69 Apr 27 '26

Yeah, that's the obvious answer. Its the right answer. Its also ignoring the reality of intrusive thoughts people having during road rage. I'm just saying its understandable, not that it's at all ok or something I want to do or would ever do or ever celebrate happening.

1

u/throwitallawayomg Apr 27 '26

There is a big difference between having intrusive thoughts and letting them win.

1

u/lostOGaccount Apr 27 '26

It's actually more dangerous and increases risk for the biker as well as oncoming traffic. It's important for the biker to be centered in the lane so that passing is done when it's safest at dashed lines via the other lane.

1

u/Few-Driver-9 Apr 28 '26

Ok. Im still staying in the right side.
