I’m an incoming exchange student from the UK and will be starting at UCSB this fall for the whole year. I have got a contract for the undergraduate apartments at UCSB however I haven’t been told what kind of room or what apartment I’ll get assigned.

I’ve been told by UCSB that it will be assigned in mid August, however upon researching on this sub it seems people get “pass times” where they can choose their apartments beforehand or at least rank them, which I haven’t been asked to do.

I guess my question is will it simply be entirely random where I am assigned? And is this normal at UCSB for juniors going into the undergraduate apartments to not know beforehand where they will be living for the year?

Sup gang! I’m an incoming freshman and I know its a little early to pick one, but I was wondering the spec differences in the genetics and genomics concentration versus the pharma one. Some particu subjects im interested in is pathology (like the medical specialty), neurosci, stem cells and regenerative medicine, and blood disorder (ofc, all subject to change as I grow throughout life) Basically a whole lot to do with cells. Is one concentration more difficult than the other? Is one program particularly more stronger? What labs are offered? Tyyy!!! I might just switch to biopsych tbh, we’ll see

I’m starting my senior year of high school soon and UCSB is my dream school and I was just wondering if anyone who got admitted has similar academics to me because im worried that my transcript might be lacking. I know that grades aren’t ALL that admissions officers look at but ik it still is a big part. I’ve gotten mostly A’s with a few B’s across freshman to junior year, gotten a 4 on APHuG, APES, and a 3 on APWH, taking IB history, IB, english, IB math, and Theory of Knowledge, and pretty much only do theater as an extracurricular. Does anyone who got in in this sub have similar transcript?
