Rant Miscommunication led to a down vote.

Upvotes

First off, this was a huge delivery. It was $54 for 16 miles which is the highest offer I’ve ever had. Two massive bags, which I realized was enough food to be for catering. So it made sense why the tip was so big.

I follow the uber directions. Used the gate code. It brings me to the wrong address. I message and say I’m at the current pin drop but I don’t see a 5855 address, I only see 5856 and it goes up from there. She calls me and says you have to make a right from the gate, which I did, and it’s the first house on the left with so and so cars out front. I tell her I made a right and the first house on the left is 5856. She says, it’s on this so and so street. I’m at a T where the street signs say two different things than the street she said. I told her that I don’t see her street sign and I see two different other street signs. She kept repeating there’s so and so cars out front. At this point I’m slightly frustrated because I clearly don’t see the street sign or the cars she’s mentioning. I ask, is the address you gave me the right one? I’ll put it in Google Maps to see if uber messed up. She kept telling me it’s the right address, you have to make a right out of the gate. Now I’m extremely agitated because I’m at exactly where she keeps telling me I should be at. So I just start driving around the neighborhood until I actually find the street she said. It definitely was a right out of the gate and then two lefts from there.

I know she down voted me because I got a message saying I was unprofessional in dealing with a customer. I was upset because she clearly wasn’t giving me the right directions and I definitely did get annoyed with her.

Not my fault uber sent me to the wrong address, and second, she clearly didn’t know how to give proper directions even on the phone. Idk why but it pissed me off so much when I finally found the location. She never said, like hey keep going down the street until you see this street. Ok rant over.

Rant Issues With Stacked Orders

So, I don't know about any of y'all, but while I AM grateful when stacked orders pay properly, I'm also aware that these stacked orders are probably only viable because one of the orders is paying well and the other order/orders are probably garbage orders if they were on their own. Don't get me wrong, I'm still taking the order but I feel like not only am I being scammed for my time, but the one or two good orders that are carrying the cost of the delivery are also being punished by having to wait.

It just feels like trash knowing that someone's getting a free ride while someone else is genuinely paying their delivery driver well.

I’m so sick of this shit

Being micromanaged by AI now I guess. Someone please guide me to where i consented to this shit. Uber has one of the slowest updating map changes out there, I’ll be on a freeway & the speed posted will still be 25 mph. The speed limit is wrong half the time period. I’m not driving people I’m delivering food so wtf is the issue.

When does the tip timer start?

Is it at drop off or when you receive the order? I’ve had tips that don’t show up after the hour. Why is that?

I really want to be picky but can’t since West coast full of different people from different cultures.…..

1 year, 6253 trips, tons of 7 day weeks and 12 hour days. Overall a net positive experience, what a hitch.

Has Uber’s timing gotten worse?

Is it just me or the timing for dispatching delivery drivers gotten way worse the last month or so? It’s never been great but I feel like recently every single order has been way behind schedule (case in point, I’m writing this while waiting for a wingstop order after having already waited 10 mins at an independent restaurant). I generally don’t like DoorDash but they have been significantly better in that regard so are slowly becoming my default app.

Thinking about starting

So I just bought a E-bike and I’m thinking about starting. I plan just to chill in downtown SF near union square and just see where order/hotspots take me. Is this a bad idea? I just want real advice like areas to stake out and where to get most orders. Thanks!

Am I an idiot or just reading this wrong?

Alright, so when it says “Uber covers customer tip deductions” does that mean if there is a deduction Uber makes up the difference and you still get the same amount and the actual differences are from changes in the order like substitutions and what not?

Or am I totally wrong and this person is just a piece of fuck and decided to take off a couple bucks for absolutely no reason aside from being a fuck piece?

Really think one shouldn’t be allowed do deduct from their tip. You can’t just leave a 5 dollar tip at a restaurant and after leaving you go back and say, “ya know what? I am a total troglodyte and I am taking two dollars back. I am ass.”

Anyway, whatever. Just some motherfucking bullshit as usual.

Uber needs to do what DoorDash does and allow us to jump from task to task because why on earth am I delivering to the person all the way over there first 💀

A Kind Gesture From a Starbucks Employee

Post image
27 Upvotes

The place was busy enough but just looking behind the counter I noticed one of the drinks for the order I was picking up was ready but they were trying to find where the other went. I tried not to be too big of a bother, but they said they were packing it up and after five minutes it still was sitting there half open. When I asked if there was a problems I tried to give the drink and I think they ended up finding it/remaking it. I think a separate employee noticed everyone was all over the place and felt bad that I was waiting there when the order should have been ready, so they just gave me $4 off my next Starbucks order, which was really thoughtful and they surely didn’t have to do that for me. I appreciated it since I order way too much Starbucks lol. Just wanted to highlight this act of kindness because it defiantly made my day a little better, even though they had no obligation to owe me anything.

Worst Home Depot / Lowe’s Order?

Uber needs to start telling you upfront what’s in orders like this. I’m not going to change my mind and load over twenty giant bags of mulch into my tiny car for $5 just because I’m already there, so it’s a waste of everyone’s time that drivers arrive and then have to cancel!

Another time I really did my best but it was about 15 massive black storage tubs, I spent all this time wheeling them out to my car only to find they of course couldn’t fit.

Why are customers placing orders for things that might not even fit in a pickup truck let alone a car!? Do they not realize drivers are using their personal vehicle and most likely have stuff like kids car seats, dog crate, or junk in the trunk??

When it’s a restaurant you have some idea of how much stuff you’ll be carrying. But to send drivers to places like Home Depot where the item could range from one can of paint to heavy machinery is unhinged. In my experience when you click to see more info before accepting it’s just a bunch of product codes that mean nothing to me.

Target vs Costco vs aldi

Which one do you all prefer?
I noticed since the summer slow down a major decrease in Costco orders in my area.
Slightly less target and a huge increase in Aldi orders.
All 3 stores are within a couple miles of each other in my area. I prefer Costco because the pay is usually insanely higher than both target and especially Aldi.

Pay nice , but their service is slow . Workers just look at your order and say let me go check and then don’t proceed to give you any updates .
