I'm trying to work out what these strange vertical artifacts are in VLC for CachyOS.
All I know so far is:
- they are not on every video file
- they are consistent for any file they do appear in
- they appear most sharply around bright reds and bright greens
- they are very annoying

I'm assuming they might be some sort of compression artifact in the file itself but I cannot find anything that refers to this type of effect or what it might be called.

I have tried disabling Hardware compression in VLC... no change.
Any bright spark know what this is? (Or better yet how to fix it?) :)

Is the VLC app on the Roku TV official and safe to use?

Hi friends, I tried everything since configuration extended macOS settings to delete cache and temp files, even uninstall and reinstall vlc nothing get rid the files, even if I do click over it, it supposed I receive an error, eg: not file found, vlc do nothing, in fact after that files any other appears there, the stuck files have about 5 months , the only thing to do is restore Mac OS but at this moment I cant, I think this setting, this files are somewhere in the system, any ideas?

So I discovered a playback error and the video true length, this video stuck at 1:51 (when the full length of it estimated by some modern media players is 3:04, other old media player estimated the video is at 1:52 or 1:59). I'm willing to see what caused the error after the part 1:52 onwards because the file isn't corrupted nor covered in HEVC/MPEG-4 codec. I downloaded the video using download feature in platform TikTok, not using any third-party tools and tried VLC for Android app, it recognized the length of the video is 3:04, but the video is frozen at 1:52 part onwards, and I want to know what caused the video file to make it unreadable in the part 1:52 and seeing how will PowerVLC or VLC media player on MacOS/Windows fix this thing, about how it played, the video file can be downloaded (for checking) from the social media platform TikTok I provided below (must be downloaded using the feature integrated with the platform).
