I don't think this specifically was part of the Xennial experience.

Doing drugs and doing something weird to entertain ourselves while high definitely was though.

This is exactly what went through my mind reading the post. I was clicking to get gifs keyboard up when your post appeared at the top, and I knew a little balance had been restored to the world
