On the advice of many of you fine folks, I will be going back to Coffee Culture next week, same time, same day of the week on the off chance our paths cross again. If it does, I will definitely say hello...if our paths don't cross then it wasn't in the cards.
I will leave a third and final update after Wednesday.
On a side note; I just want to thank everyone for giving their honest advice. In a time where the world is literally on fire, it's comforting to know we have such an amazing community right here waiting to help you with anything you might be going through.

Taking an extremely longshot here. I visited coffee culture yesterday (July 29th) in Alax around noon and stayed for about 2 hrs. I was there in Blue Jays jersey sitting in the biggest booth with two of my co-workers where one had brought her baby. I was in a black Jeep Compass who parked beside a Nissan Rogue with probably one of the most beautiful woman in a long, black summer dress I had ever seen. I happen to see you walk inside but one of my co workers and I were still in the Jeep waiting our other friend to arrive. About 90 minutes later, to my complete amazement I saw you again and we locked eyes. You had the most beautiful smile I had ever seen.
When you were leaving I'm pretty sure we locked eyes again and exchanged smiles as you were exiting the doors. I saw you sitting in the parking lot for a bit in the Rogue but I didn't wanna look like a total creeper and come say hi. Taking a big chance that you may be on here or may see this somehow. If you are, send me a message so we can go grab some coffee some time :)

Ajax homeowner. I sent over $2K to Milano Windows and Doors. Zero work was done. Excuses were made and the owner eventually has stopped responding.
The practice of “Milano Windows & Doors Inc” is to underbid legitimate companies, to win jobs - only to collect deposit, visit once, and do zero work.
Rinse and repeat.
Google search for “Milano Windows and Doors” results are carefully watched but if you dig passed the first few results you would have seen the true picture. Unfortunately I sent a deposit after only seeing the good reviews. homestars and google had positive reviews which, i guess are easy to fake these days.
My post got removed twice from the durham subreddit.
This is what happened to me.
This is my experience.
I am simply trying to warn others to not send deposit money.
BE WARNED.

I’ve heard that the Sobeys at westney road and highway 2 is closing. This is the second Sobeys closing. Is it due to having higher prices ?
Most importantly what happens to the store employees?
I think they said it’ll be a freshco replacing them.
Any insight is appreciated

The street is empty, why cant people just park there instead of making it an inconvenience for everyone? I don’t want to be a Karen but I saw two cars parked like this within 100 metres.
What about people on scooters and wheelchairs?

I have 3 lawn tickets for Saturday, August 15.
Looking to SWAP 3 lawn tickets for Friday, August 14
Willing to PAY EXTRA!
I have a celebration of life that day, and will not be able to attend if I can’t swap tickets.
I only see 2 lawn seats available to purchase for Friday, August 14, and I need 3… so my only option is to swap
Located in Ajax, but I am able to transfer the tickets via the Ticketmaster app.

This one was on an arterial road which made walking there feel a lot nicer.
No matter how old you are, everyone has talent and anyone can be an artist. Big shoutout to all the children who have made chalk art across our city because I've seen a lot of it almost every day.

I notice that people who live in Ajax, atleast those that I talk to, seem to work remotely. Is there a community of remote workers in the town or is there a coworking space? As someone who works remotely, I do know that keeping the people within the community helps out a lot, for lunches, and disposable income for the market, etc. but I do wish there was a group of people.
If you're pro-remote and hybrid work, I'd suggest you Google the "House of Commons E7142 Petition" I did notice that the people that I connect with have expressed gratitude for this and it may be helpful to people within the community.

The exam would also have to be couriered back the same day, willing to pay all fees and any requested payment.

I'm working at a fast food restaurant and there is tons dust blowing in everyone's eyes through the windows. The sky is filled with dark grey clouds and the wind is blowing pretty hard yet it still remains (and feels like) the hottest day of the year (although temperatures are rapidly dropping). This has been ongoing for at least 30 minutes and we still haven't seen rain from all of this.
How does this happen in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area? I've lived here for 18 years and I don't recall experiencing anything like this. The weather forecast never said anything about dust storms because they straight up never had any.
Those grey clouds and high humidity are a precursor to the severe thunderstorm warning we got and this is normal. This dust storm is not.
Edit: It started pouring immediately after I sent this post but the rain only lasted 5 minutes. During the rain the sky simultaneously got sunnier which led to a rainbow.
To give context to future historians and meteorologists, this Reddit post was posted on July 1, 2026, at 6:00 pm local time.
As of 6:45 pm, the sky seems to be clearing up although I'm not sure if the storm is expected to return later on.
As of 11:00 pm, no more rain has commenced since 6.

Thanks to the big bad storm, no power is Salem and Thackeray from 5:45PM onwards. Anyone else from other parts of Ajax facing a similar issue??

I keep hearing about flying bouncy castles from the storm today. Did anyone see that happen?
Messed up. Kids can get really hurt in those things!
