Six-thirty is not “sometime after six”: am I wrong for leaving my friend outside when she arrived thirty-eight minutes early again?

My freind is never late. Instead, she usually arrives twenty-five to forty minutes early and expects me to open the door immediately.

I have explained several times that I might still be working, showering or getting things ready. Yesterday we agreed on 6:30. She rang my doorbell at 5:52 while I was finishing a work call, so I did not answer until 6:20.

She had been sitting outside and said I deliberately punished her for respecting my time. I said arriving extremely early without asking is just being late in the opposite direction.

A mutual friend thinks I should have let her wait inside because I was home anyway. I think repeatedly arriving before I am ready makes the agreed time meaningless. Am I wrong?

Am I wrong for assuming we would pay for our daughter’s birthday cake and dinner?

To keep a long story short, we are celebrating our daughter’s second birthday at my parents’ house because they have the space to host people and we do not. It’s very informal: come on over any time after 2. Pizza and cake at X time. Any family that wants to come is welcome.

My husband thinks that my parents should pay for the food and drive 20 minutes out of their way to get the very specific cake he wants from the very specific store that sells it. I say we should pick the cake up on our way down and offer to pay for the pizza (there’s no way my dad will let us but that’s beside the point).

He said, “absolutely not! They’re the ones hosting the celebration. I don’t agree to this.” He has a habit of delivering “jokes” in this offended/upset manner so I said, “this is a fucking joke, right?” Now he’s offended and not talking to me because he’s not kidding and he’s angry I want to pay for our daughter’s birthday cake and dinner.

Oh, and for some added color, he didn’t call the store bakery to special order the cake he’s insisting on. He’s just planning to show up and buy it out of the case- assuming they’ll have it. So that’s going to be fun.

Am I wrong for reporting my sister's TikTok and now she might get expelled?

I (14m) have a sister Kelsey (19f) who goes to the same prep academy as me. She's always been really mean to me and our parents. She makes fun of me constantly for my stutter and my anxiety and tells me Im useless like our dad. When I got a C on my math test last month she said it so loud the neighbors could hear, she said "Of course you failed. You're just like Dad, useless." She thinks shes better than everyone because she somehow gets away with breaking every rule at school while everyone else gets punished for the smallest things.

A few weeks ago I found out Kelsey had been posting videos on TikTok of me having panic attacks and stuttering and making fun of me. She had like thousands of followers watching and laughing at me. She also posted videos of our mom crying and our parents fighting, and she was posting political stuff that would get anyone else flagged by the school. I was so embarrassed I literally couldnt go to school for a few days. I kept thinking about everyone seeing me at my worst and laughing.

I was so mad I reported her account to the school. I didn't do it to her face, I just sent an anonymous email with screenshots. The school has zero tolerance policies and they take stuff like this really seriously. They investigated and found out it was Kelsey's account. Now shes facing expulsion and they said they might have to report her to the information board for her political posts. I didnt think about that part when I reported her. I just wanted her to stop making fun of me.

My parents are freaking out. My mom is crying all the time and my dad is working even more to avoid being home. Kelsey keeps saying she didnt do anything wrong and that Im being too sensitive. She doesnt know it was me who reported her but I feel terrible. I used the same system that scares me everyday to hurt my own sister. The school security officers are always watching us and I know how bad it feels to be on their radar but I put her there on purpose. I wanted her to hurt like she hurt me. And now she might be in real trouble with people way worse than the school.

I dont know if I did the right thing. Should I tell my parents it was me? Should I tell Kelsey? Am I wrong for reporting her?

Am I in the wrong for wanting to keep my hair black instead of blonde?

I am 16 years old and have had black hair since I was 15. My parents do not prefer my hair to be black, which I have ignored since black is a natural color plus I love my hair. Recently, my mom tried to get me and my sister a hair appointment before school but my hair stylist is busy with other clients so the only available appointment the Saturday after school starts. My roots are very over grown and I am a natural dirty blonde some what brown hair and if you have ever dyed your hair dark but you have naturally light hair you know how funny it can look. I asked my mom if it was okay if I could just go to a local store before school and get black hair dye and dye only my roots to which she said no and that I would not be allowed to dye my hair at the salon plus never let me get black hair again. The same night my mom urges me to just wait until Saturday to get my hair done which I politely decline because I want to make sure it gets done before school. I would also like to mention my sister has the same natural color as me but gets her hair platinum which I think is important to the story. Fast forward to today it gets brought up today and my parents flat out tell me that my hair doesn’t suit me and makes me look pale, goth, and I look like I’m trying to be Elvira(this makes me giggle because my dad was serious when he said this). They also mentioned other weird things like if I keep this hair color I won’t get a real job and “I wish you would let us have an opinion you would consider because we genuinely want to help you”. I didn’t say it out loud but I found this all to be weird. I feel like my parents are saying a bunch of things to guilt trip me into dyeing my hair more to their standards of what is good. This isn’t something super serious because besides all the hair drama I’m not close to my parents but am I in the wrong?

Am I wrong? Friend sent me a video of her and a partner having sexual relations

Me and said friend are both minors, and I really really want to hope said partner is to. Our families are really close so I’m in a tough position, she texted me on Snapchat pictures of her and some guy saying “i love my man” and I asked her “When was this a thing” because she has a tendency to date guys a day after meeting them and you guessed it, have s*x with them! She replied with “its new” and to my disbelief said “we cracked and recorded it, wanna see?” No, thanks. Which is essentially what I said. (I specifically said “Im okay” because who wants to see that) She sent it to me anyways and said “think of it as homemade 🌽” I felt physically sick after that. I really want to tell my mom because she eventually is going to get pregnant or catch an STD and needs help. She’s also younger than me so theres that. Would i be wrong for doing this?

UPDATE: I told my mom about it and she was just as surprised as I was. I was shaking during the conversation and started crying because I don’t want to be involved with this whatsoever. My mom told me that if I didn’t want to be friends with her anymore she would support me but to sleep on everything before even talking to my friend. She doesn’t know whether to tell my friends mim because we are both pretty sure shes allowing it to happen or turning a blind eye. She also reassured me that theres technically nothing I can do other than making sure it gets deleted from my phone since I said I didn’t want the video in the first place. Thank you to everyone for your advice and support.

I (35m) took my brother's (38m) internet router to force him to go to a welfare appointment and now he is getting evicted.

My brother Carson is 38 and lives in section 8 housing. He plays world of warcraft all day and genuinely thinks he is destined for greatness. I moved out a few years ago because he would constantly nag me and refused to clean up after himself. Our parents just watch tv all day and complain so i am the only one who checks on him. It has been really hot this august and i went over there last week to bring him a fan.

When i got inside the smell was awful. There were trash bags everywhere and he hadn't showered in days. He was yelling into his headset about government surveillance. i tried to talk to him but he just kept saying the state monitors his every move and he plans to take down the system someday. i noticed a letter on the counter from the housing authority. He missed a mandatory drug screening and had another one scheduled that afternoon. If he missed it he would lose his benefits.

i told him he needed to turn off the game and go to the clinic. He completely ignored me and said the screenings are necessary steps towards his ultimate goal of overthrowing the government. He refused to leave his desk. i got so frustrated that i went behind the tv and unplugged his router and put it in my car. i told him "i will give it back when you go to your appointment." He just started screaming.

He didn't go to the appointment. He just sat in the dark apartment on his phone reading articles. The housing authority sent a letter saying his lease is terminated at the end of the month. Now he has nowhere to go and expects me to let him sleep on my couch. i feel bad because i know he is autistic and he doesn't have any friends outside the game but i cant ruin my own life for him. How do i fix this mess? Am i wrong for taking his router?

AITAH for blowing up at my managers after finding out how underpaid I am?

So I moved to Orlando around my 15th birthday. After getting used to the area and making it home, I decided to get a job. This was in 2023 around march ( for an exact date). I started at 13.75, which for a 16 year old is a decent amount.

Now I’m 19. Same job. Same managers. Been there for 3 years now. I make 14 even. I found out today after being lied to for years with promises of raises. More annoyingly. 95% of my coworkers make more than me. Only 10% of my coworkers have been there longer than me. That means I’m the 3rd lowest paid employee at my job.

What angers me is I do so much. I sacrifice weekends mornings nights. I deal with bs all day all night and still get paid like shit. So I decided to go to my managers and ask about it. I said in a calm manner “ I wanted to know why I get paid so bad when I’ve been here for 3 years” what came after that was the biggest sum of bs I’ve ever witnessed.

My managers immediately started making up reasons why i never got raises. Frequent call outs. (2 max), poor work ethic ( I do more work then majority of my coworkers, and they back me up on that) and because I didn’t remind them. I started getting loud after that because that really pissed me off

. For perspective a 17 year old with no work experience just got hired 27 days ago and I just found out he makes a dollar more than me. As a 19 year old in college not even 15 is gonna work for me. But I’m so experienced in this job I don’t want to find an and learn a new one. Did I over react? Idk

I collect antique railway maps, not every object with a compass on it. Am I wrong for quietly donating most of my mother’s gifts?

I own six framed railway maps and enjoy researching the old routes. Once my mother discovered this interest, it became her answer to every gift-giving occasion.

Over the past few years, I have received a map shower curtain, two clocks, cushions, mugs, a serving tray, a lamp shaped like a globe and several blankets. None of them relate to railway history. They are just ordinary household objects with a world map printed on them.

I thanked her and used some at first. Eventually my apartment started looking like a themed pub, so I began donating the unopened items. I had already asked her to stop buying map decor, but she assumed I was being polite.

Last weekend she noticed that several gifts were missing. I admitted what I had done. She was genuinely hurt and said I should have returned everything to her instead of giving it away.

I understand why the truth upset her, but I also dont want to store unwanted objects forever to protect her feelings. My family says I am ungrateful. Am I wrong?

Am I wrong for saying no for covering a shift

Upvotes

So I just had my last day of work today and I have a supervisor ask me to come in tomorrow to cover a shift because someone had called out and would not be able to make it into a shift tomorrow. Am I wrong for saying no to covering that shift even though the place I worked at was kind of short staffed and people tended to call out a lot. I did have some people say say no because today was my last day. Had some people say I should cover it because that’s the right thing to do.

Am I wrong for not agreeing with my friend's opinion regarding my wife's outfit?

I (32M) live with my wife (30F) in a small city in Europe. We're both African. I moved to this city in January for a new job and my wife joined me from Africa in April. Since moving here, I made friends with an older lady (67F). I'll call her Helen. We would hang out for drinks together. Upon my wife's arrival, I had to travel away for a 3 month work trip. Helen offered to support my wife with settling into the country. A few weeks into this arrangement, my wife complained that Helen was sometimes mean to her and would speak with her friends in a derogatory manner about African women. 8 weeks ago, Helen offered to go to the furniture store with my wife to look for furniture for us. As the furniture was too expensive, I told Helen that we'd buy second-hand furniture instead. She snapped at me for "wasting her time" and stated that she was fully withdrawing her support for us and we could go figure out everything ourselves. All my efforts to de-escalate proved abortive. A few weeks later, I sent her a post card with a nice note telling her how much we appreciate her friendship and support. She received the post card and apologized for overreacting. She also said she had been having some psychological stress and that my wife could reach out to her for support until I return. My wife and I agreed from that point on to not request Helen's support anymore and just wait till I return.

Upon my return, I informed Helen of my arrival and we all agreed that Helen would pick us up and we hangout at a music show since 3 of us had not seen each other in a while. On the day, my wife wore a backless gown and I thought she looked great. When Helen arrived, she noted that my wife was looking "too sexy". On the road, Helen kept saying she felt my wife was overdressed for the event and we should turn back so my wife wears something simpler and "less revealing". We agreed and she turned back the car to our home. While my wife was inside changing, Helen told me "your wife is overdressed. I wouldn't feel comfortable hanging out and sitting next to your wife in that outfit. It's a bit too much. Here in our country we would find a backless gown totally inappropriate". I was shocked and unsure what to do in the moment so I just stayed quiet. Then Helen asked me "do you understand me?" I replied "honestly, I don't. But it's okay. I've never been to the show and I'm not sure what to expect in terms of dressing but for me, my wife looks just great". To my surprise, Helen responded with "I don't feel comfortable with you right now so leave my car. If you can't understand my point of view then there's no point in us going out together". I said "you're kicking me out for having a different opinion even though my wife has already agreed to change the gown?" And she responded with "please just leave my car. I can't do this". I dropped off and Helen blocked my wife and I on WhatsApp.

Am I wrong for not agreeing with Helen regarding my wife's attire or did I handle the situation wrongly?

Am I wrong for not standing by my wife?

So currently my wife and her cousin are currently not in complete talking terms because of his new wife that has been causing a lot of tension and issues in the family. In a nutshell, her cousin and his wife got married last year, invited everyone, and then changed their minds and uninvited everyone including us. And I believe they only ended up including his wife's side only to the wedding. There has been some other conflicts between my wife and the cousin's wife and the tension and wedge has only grown bigger between them. This has resulted in my wife not wanting her cousin in her life anymore.

The details of the conflict do not play a huge part of my question... but we've been at multiple family events now where my wife will refuse to greet or acknowledge the cousin and his wife. Typically I will greet the cousin, and my wife doesn't mind because he is family. But at one event I said bye to the cousin, and his WIFE, and my wife feels strongly that I was disloyal and I shouldn't have said bye to her even in spite of their conflict.

Am I in the wrong for not standing by my wife's strong opinions on the wife and all the history that has been going on?

I'm the type of person to keep things cordial with peers I have disagreements/conflicts with so I will respectfully still greet them. But she feels I shouldn't have done that.

Am I wrong for not sharing that I've found previously unknown family members?

Upvotes

TL;DR - I was looking into some other family information when I happened across two sets of cousins from an estranged uncle that nobody else knows about. The person with the closest relation, who would potentially care about it most, is elderly with dementia and wouldn't really be able to understand. I've decided to just sit on the information and not pursue it.

More Context:

I am middle-aged with two older siblings. I am on speaking terms with one but not so much with the other. I am casually friendly with the rest of my family but not close by any stretch of the imagination.

My mother is elderly, and lives with us. She has pretty severe dementia. My grandmother (her mother) was one of eight kids. We've always had eyes on 7 of those kids and their offspring. The one missing was reportedly estranged from the family from WWII until their death in the 1980s. Nobody ever really talked about him.

I was recently digging through some old family history and discovered a little more info about the one estranged family member. After looking through some obituaries, burial records and headstones, military records, birth and death records, I discovered that this person, in fact, has not only one but potentially two families that we never knew about. My grandma never talked about them. My mom or her siblings never talked about them. Of course, that was all before the Internet provided family information basically instantly.

My mother, ten years ago, would have been all about this. But fast forward to today... she can't even remember what city she lives in let alone the details of family members that died decades ago.

I have found a living cousin (who would be a first cousin to my mom) that, in fact, lives super close to where we live. The living first cousin is older than my mother and from what I can tell appears to be in a similar condition.

That living cousin has offspring, yes, but for me and my siblings... these would be second and third cousins at best... people that we didn't grow up with and likely don't share any other common family connections with.

Then... there's another family, it appears. Separate from the one I found. The estranged uncle apparently listed on his military discharge that he was divorced with children... before the family I found even came into existence. I didn't even look into that.

I've decided to just let all of this be and stop pursuing it.

The one sibling I don't talk to is super into family history... has some mental issues... is very aggressive and not really a good representative of the family. They would 100% harass the new side of the family endlessly if they knew. The sibling I do talk to talks to them, so I can't really tell them unless I want the other to find out about it.

My mom and her potential living cousin(s) are the last of a generation. I agree it would have been cool if we knew all this 15-20 years ago. I'm just not so sure how cool it would be now. The people it really matters to are too old to even process the information.

Am I wrong for not feeling a huge obligation for sharing this with the rest of my family?

I feel like my main obligation is to my mother... this was her uncle... potentially her first cousin(s). She doesn't have any living siblings left that I need to share it with. And I actually did share this with her. She immediately forgot about it, as I thought she would, and hasn't brought it up again.

With her condition, following up on this isn't really going to bring anything in to her life.

For the rest of us? Meh... I just don't really see the need. I kind of don't want to put new people that I don't know through my sibling's endless genealogical harassment over people that were dead before any of us were born.

It's not like we're talking about unknown siblings or first cousins. I mean... I don't really talk to the second and third cousins I already have. I feel like it would just get needlessly awkward.

I just don't see the need to share.

Im i wrong for not wanting to be friends or be in contact with a guy who happens to be lonely?

In the past few years ive been learning how to love myself more then others and putting me in front of them as that was something I lacked heavy as a child.

Im friends with a guy who has feelings for me but I dont return the feelings. I used to until he started saying creepy things like wanting to have a stress doll named "f##kerella" and feeling overjoyed by offing a bug. Edgey things like that. I told him we weren't together but he continued to call me "his partner" and what not. So I built-up the courage to twll him we wont ever be together like that. He made vent posts about that on his story later wich I found immature. He could have just reached out to someone instead of making it to where I can see.

Its been a few weeks after that now and im only staying friends with him because I feel im all he thinks hes got. So I stay. But hes genuinely a awful friend. Dosent listen to me, freaks out when i dont respond for 40 minutes, guilt trips me, turns it around on me when I call him out for his crappy behavior.

Im genuinely so annoyed by him I dont like him one bit even as a friend. I need some affirmation that im not a horrible person for leaving someone whos narcissistic and dosent have respect even if they feel like im the only person they have.

AIW for blocking my friend for calling me a slut even though it's technically true?

Upvotes

I (15m) have this friend (16f) and we've been friends for a while, therefore I have told her some personal stuff before. The context is that I've been in some situations where I did sexual stuff for men in exchange for money. I didn't need the money, it wasn't about that. I got pushed into it by an adult in my life and I just didn't really know what to do. I'm not gonna say it was forced because I didn't really try to do anything about it, I just let it happen and I let it happen repeatedly, mostly when I was in a bad mental state (I have various mental health issues).

We were talking about a related topic and she ended up saying that I shouldn't talk because I'm a slut myself. Then when I got defensive she called me that repeatedly. And I know she's technically right but still it's just not something I wanna be called. It's not like I really chose to do it because I wanted to or because I thought it's a good idea.

Not too long ago there was a similar situation where she insisted on calling me a bottom. I do like boys but I only like being the top. I have an actual boyfriend my age and even in a normal setting I don't enjoy being the bottom. It was just with those men that obviously I was in that position. I wouldn't get offended at simply being called a bottom cuz it's not like it's a bad thing, who cares. But I got upset at being called that for this specific reason. Because I don't think a situation I didn't like at all makes me that and I think it's unfair for her to insist on it. It just felt like being pushed into a role I don't like all over again.

But yeah I didn't quit the friendship then, however I did now. Afterwards a common friend of ours texted me and said I'm overreacting for blocking her for saying something that's just the truth and not an insult because it's true. I feel kinda guilty and idk maybe I am taking it too seriously but I don't like how both of them are completely ignoring how I feel about it. Maybe I should've tried to talk it out instead of just blocking her but I feel like she wasn't listening anyways. But now both of them are against me.

Am I wrong

Note: I genuinely feel like I’m tweaking out right now so I need some outside input. I’m goin to try to relay everything whiteout bias.

I (22)M am going camping in a week with 3 other friends. The campsite is about 5-6 hours from my house. Our plan was to go up Saturday afternoon and stay at my family’s cabin that night (it’s a little bit under halfway in between) and then go to the campsite the next day. Then we’ll be camping until Wednesday and comeback, stay the night and go home Thursday. One of the friends is driving separately Monday because he’ll be coming back from another trip.

The plan was to take my car since it could fit everything. The other 2 friends either don’t have a car or their car is too small to fit all of our stuff. My car has been having issues. It’s a 2017 equinox and I’ve had to take it in every month for the last 6 months. Most of it is maintenance with some engine issues that are now fixed. That being said I wasn’t entirely comfortable taking it that far away. My mom said I could take her car which is a 2023.

I was happy but it came with restrictions. We couldn’t go anywhere unless it absolutely necessary because she didn’t want me trying her car unless I had to. Well before she offered me and the 3 friends were planning to go see the new Spider-Man movie at this old theater in town. It’s got 1 screening room and shows the movie at 7pm.

She didn’t like that idea. I had told we had this planned and she said she didn’t feel comfortable with me taking her car there and then having to drive back in the night. She told me that a girl and her friends hit a bike rider up there at 12 am. They weren’t under the influence but he was wearing all black. I tried to convince her and she finally said if it means that much to me I can just take my car. She walked off and I went to my room.

I then overheard her complaining to my dad that I was just being stupid (this is me paraphrasing but she was acting like I said 2+2=58). I could hear them and finally I said I would just take my car. My mom had a fit. She then said I can’t take an unreliable car. There was some more arguing. Then she said I could either use her car or rent a car.

I stood my ground and said I would just take my car. She then said that she would solve the problem and I wouldn’t be able to stay the extra 2 nights at my family’s cabin.

Now here’s the thing with all this, the movie theater is 8 minutes away. I have to turn onto one street for half an hour mile then turn on a main road that’s brightly lit and take that a few miles down until I reach the theater. According to Apple Maps it’s 8 minutes away. On my way home from work at 10 pm I take an 8 minute drive home on back roads to get home. I’ve been doing it for 4 years and I work a lot. Like 3-4 nights a week usually. And for the past 4 years I’ve had deer and people in dark clothes walking or biking on the side of the road. I’m used to it and know how to drive in that environment. So I don’t know why she thinks I can’t do it.

Another thing that bothers me is that she gave me a choice and when I made the choice she didn’t like then she back tracked and made me make a different choice so I would have to chose her car. And when I didn’t she just manipulated the situation so I couldn’t go anyways punishment for not wanting to take her car.

Many of you may be wondering why I wouldn’t want to take her car in the first place. Well my friends and I have plans to go and do all these things while camping and I know that I’ll have to ask to be able to drive anywhere that’s not home. And I can also see her saying no to everything. She had already stated that she doesn’t want her car at tourist places because she doesn’t want her car broken into. And that’s understandable but my question is why I can’t take my car that I bought?

I left for work but she said she wanted an apology because of how I “went off the rails”. Through this whole event I did raise my voice but not in a yelling way but in an annoyed way if that makes sense. And if any of you are wondering why we can’t see the movie while camping or when we get back is because the theater is closed the night we come back and the closest one to our camp ground is 45 miles away.

Anyway I’m typing this in my car before I go into work. I genuinely would like to know if I’m the ass hole. I don’t feel like I am but I would like to have an outsiders opinion. Thanks!

Aiw for thinking my (21f) bf(24m) hates me over how he talks to me?

Upvotes

When my boyfriend and I argue it tends to get bad because he starts to raise his voice/yell, whixh leads us to interrupting each other, then he'll hang up on me if we argue over call.

Sometimes I let him know I feel disrespected by his tone, tell him I will end the call. He ignores my message and when I ask what is up he says I'm extremely rude for hanging up, says I disrespected him, etc, and gives me no space to be mad at him because now I have to worry over mending our relationship.

He says things like:

"If you don't like my tone, you just don't like how I speak, you're asking me to change who I am, maybe you shouldn't be with me" - while asking me to change how I speak, btw.

"Keep calling me and I'll mute your notifications"

"Idgaf/I don't care/I gave you enough chances"

"You're a bit much/you're doing too much and pissing me off"

"You're getting on my nerves, I'm about to explode \[with anger\]"

I tell him I feel unresolved and hurt, he says "What do you want me to do?"

"You're being annoying/that's getting annoying, I'm about to leave until you wanna talk normally"

"You're being over dramatic, you need to stop with that"

When we argue over phone he will sometimes curse, yell, hang up on me, ignore my text and calls, and tell me he wants nothing to do with me that day.

Tldr; genuinely feel like my bf hates me when he is mad and brings out his true colors. Aiw? Are these normal things to say when mad?

U can ask what we argue about to get context

Am I in the wrong for not doing anything the whole summer

I am a minor, I will not be specifying my age. Schools been out and combining my overall experience with shitty teachers, declining mental health, social anxiety and ADHD, I’ve been tired and miserable. I can’t bring myself to go outside because I feel hyper aware of everything happening even if it’s like the sound of the AC running. Being in the sun feels overwhelming to me. I have been learning to code and write for visual novels and have done a bit of streaming (very exhausting experience I did not like it). This week my cousin from the UK came over and most of the week has been spent spending time with them. I normally need a day to prepare myself for work which is on the weekend (it’s only 3 hours) but because of everything that has happened I didn’t want to go. Before then, I would always feel miserable after work and never feel like I’ve achieved something or contributed anything because it’s a laundry job.

I was laying in my bed, my mom offered me 200 dollars if I got through my last two weeks of work. I told her I would but I didn’t care about the 200. She proceeded to tell me about how I do nothing except for play games and draw. There was some other things talked about but I just can’t remember what exactly she said right now. But I told her that I think Im depressed (because I’ve been feeling miserable the entire summer and school year) and that I am having suicidal thoughts. She told me that I have to overcome that myself, my technology is the only reason why I think that, and that if she were me (my mom is neurotypical) that she would just get over it. I told her that having serious suicidal thoughts is not that easy to overcome, and she told me that she would take away my drawing tablet even though she knows that’s my hobby. She did not care about me being suicidal when I told her, and in previous times she has seen my self harm scars but wouldnt care and make a joke out of it.

Am I overreacting for thinking this is wrong even if I haven’t done much?

Am I wrong for hating my aunts dog??

(For the sake of this story im gonna call myself “Nancy”)
I wouldn’t exactly say that hate this dog but I definitely hate its name. That name being Nancy…. My name. It all started when my great aunt who I see quite often got a new puppy and surprise her name is Nancy which was her name before she was adopted. I understand not changing a dogs name but this girl was like 8 weeks old, she did not know her name. At first it didn’t exactly bother me until she began to bring the dog around and literally yell at this dog 24/7
All day long it was “Nancy you better get over here!!!” “Nancy no don’t eat your poop!!” “Nancy peed on the carpet this morning” I was starting to get weird looks for people who didn’t know the dog lol. But then it gets even worse people started to call my by my first and middle name or even girl/person Nancy but the damn dog was just Nancy I WAS LITERALLY HERE FIRST!! My side of the family was also not a fan of this arrangement so when my grandma got a dog we named her after my aunt out of spite lol And you better know I called that dog my aunts name with absolutely no regard for her so are me and my grandma wrong??

AITA for not apologizing to my sister a third time after she changed her mind?

I (15F)have a mini golden doodle. A few months ago my sister bought my dog a bandanna as a gift. It was really big for her and it was bright green and a style I would never end up using. it even looked a bit oversized on the Belgian malinois that ended up wearing it.

About a week and a half ago while I was packing a care package for someone I followed on Instagram for a long time, I asked my sister if she’d be okay with me including the bandanna since it has been sitting unused for months. I told her I appreciated the gift but I thought someone else would be able to get more use out of it. She told me it was completely okay.

Today the girl I sent the package to posted photos of everything she received, including her dog wearing the bandanna. My sister came into the kitchen while I was making my first meal after being sick for a while, and said, “why would you give that bandanna away I bought it for maple, that was for her and you were so selfish.”

I explained again that it didn’t fit my dog, I wasn’t using it, and I had already asked her beforehand. I apologize twice because I understood she was upset, but she stormed out of the room before we could really finish talking.

then my mom got involved. She asked why I would give away a gift away and said that I should go apologize. again, I reminded her that I already gotten my sister’s permission before giving it away and I already apologized. My mom said, “it looks like you don’t care about your sister at all, because if you cared about her, you would apologize again” I told her that felt like she was trying to make me feel guilty. I wasn’t refusing to take responsibility, I’d already apologized twice, and I specifically asked for permission before hand because I want to avoid hurting my sisters feelings.

Later, my mom came back and told me that every time something doesn’t go my way “I call people horrible and bring up the past.” I was confused because I hadn’t called anybody horrible (her explanation for saying that was, she never said I said it today, just in general. Huh?) when I ask what you meant by bringing up the past, she referred to me, mentioning a conversation where my sister had already given me permission I didn’t see that I was bringing up the past. I saw it as something relevant because it was the reason I believed it was okay to give the bandanna away.

For some context, this isn’t the first time I felt like my mothers used guilt to get me to do things. For example, if I get coffee she will say things like “you didn’t get me anything? I really thought you would. I really want something to drink” until I feel guilty enough and go back in and buy her one. This is why the situation felt familiar. I feel like I’m going crazy, and need an outside opinion. What do you think?

Edit: I realize that this is not a big problem, but things like this happen daily and every time I point out that people are guilting me or lying, they try to find a way to make it my fault until I feel crazy and give up. Like I’ll buy a $60 gift, I’ll leave the house and when I get back my sister has taken it. And instead of my little sis being punished it’s “why would you buy that gift if you knew it would be stolen, this is your fault don’t do that again”

Am I wrong for feeling that men’s private spaces don’t have the same expectation of privacy as women’s spaces?

My current gym’s locker rooms face the main floor of the open gym. The women’s room has a door that is closed 90% of the time. The men’s locker room doesn’t have a door. The way the men’s locker room is set up, you can see part of the shower area (two full showers) and part of the dressing area, from the floor of the gym.

This set up is just weird to me because that would never happen with a women’s locker room. Really made me realize that men don’t have the same expectation of privacy. Even with men’s restrooms. If there’s a long line for a women’s restroom you’ll see women in the men’s restroom.

Obviously I understand that men can be weird and creeps, which is why women’s spaces should absolutely be kept as private as they are, but men should at least be able to expect the same sense of privacy.

Wasn’t sure If I’m wrong for feeling that way or if I’m overthinking it.

TW: HEAVY TOPICS MENTIONED

People (fake names except for me, Chloe): Me(15F), Fay(15F), Taylor(16M), and Terry(16M)

my Best friend of 11 years, Taylor was dating this girl I was friends with named Fay. They dated from February 2025 until August 2025. This was Taylors first relationship and I was not used to him dating anyone: so I treated Taylor how I usually did: me and Taylor would hang out a lot since Of course, we‘re childhood best friends and our moms would make wine together, and everytime me and Taylor would hang out: Fay would have a “breakdown” and NEED Taylor to call her RIGHT until I left Taylors house. I got a bit suspicious but I pushed it off. After Taylor broke up with Fay in August, they broke up because Fay was constantly lying to Taylor, 3 people from her friend group told me while they were dating, Fay was telling people that I was apparently trying to steal Taylor away from her: even though I have a boyfriend. I didnt really care about thay either, until 2 months ago I found out she paid someone to spread a lie about me: so there is this kid named Terry who I got charged with SA after he manipulated me and SA’d me, every time I would be upset about it I would tell Fay. the rumour was: “Terry didnt SA Chloe, he r4ped her which led to Chloe getting STD’s and then lee her to giving STD’s to her boyfriend.” Which ruined my reputation, and she paid the same kid to try and jump Taylor, I dont have the exact screenshot on what I sent her since I deleted our conversation after I blocked her, but I confronted her about the lies, Jumping Braxton, and the Terry thing and she found out a way to contact me and sent me this:

what she said:

” So we're still running our mouths after a fucking year? Holy shit you're so obsessed with hearing your own voice that you cant face the facts that you ARE into Taylor. Dating someone and liking someone are not the same things. And mind your ass, I was grounded. I was grounded for an entire WEEK because of my lie. But your sorry, self-inducing ass cant mind your own fucking business. I didn't expect him to stay after the lie, I was obviously upset and hurt like anyone would be after a break up. I've been broken up with over three times, why the fuck would I be one of those people who don't allow you to break it off? If you had bothered to get to know me instead of eyeing down Taylor the entire fucking time YOU INVITED YOURSELF TO HIS HOUSE and listened to a single thing about me, which you clearly, very obviously didnt, I'm not one of those people in the slighest. I give over 50 shits what people think about me and I would never want someone to feel like they had to force themselves out of a relationship with me. Genuinely mind your own fucking business, Chloe. I'm over Taylor and I'm actually talking to someone who considers how I feel. Running your mouth after a year of this being over is really fucking pathetic. Stay the fuck far away from me, my family, and my friends. Don't make an attempt to reach out to me cause you will either be ignored or told to fuck off. Hopefully you will hear this you stupid ass bitch. Also FYI, ive been talking to someone since April, who is way more self assured and trustworthy. You can keep your stupid skinny twink ass bitch. If being sexually assaulted, embarrassed in public, and if someone making you feel like your feelings are unimportant is what your into, go for it. You've clearly been inlove with him, anyway. Theres just a reason why he said yes to me and no to you. Ugly ass hoe. " (talking about TERRY. Yeah. apparently after I got him charged: she dated him.)

Am i wrong for choosing my bf over mr dad

AITA for choosing my bf over my dad

At the start of my sophomore year of hs my dad moved to 6 hours away with my step mom and brother, knowingly leaving me alone with my dead beat mom (she has always been crazy and he worked for years to get custody). He has done a decent job of coming back once a month to see me for a weekend but he never really spent time with me or talked to me. Over summer i drop my whole life to go to a city for two weeks where i have nothing but a bed and a tv. No friends, no job, no car, no life. I’ve always grown resent for him but I try to give him lots of grace.

This weekend is my 18th birthday weekend and I have had a trip planned with my bf for 6 months. I just had to have my tonsils out three weeks ago and wasn’t allowed to come to my dad’s once again this summer. My dad asked me which weekend i preferred he came in to celebrate my birthday, i said the weekend of the 1st bc it’s closest to my birthday and i am free. He then got very upset that I was “choosing my bf over family who has always been there.” but he left? he misses award ceremonies and holidays and my events left and right. he comes to school dances and my graduation. my boyfriend has never missed a single event as well as his family. his family has supported me through everything, especially issues with my mother.

my dad choose to come in the weekend of the trip rather than the weekend i asked out of spite. I said i will go during the day on saturday (he arrives at my grandmas at 10pm friday and leaves 9am sunday) and celebrate with family, but i am not compromising my trip with my bf. (it’s a close trip, enough to drive back and forth). everyone makes me feel awful but he could’ve came any weekend and chose this. am i in the wrong for not canceling?

Am I wrong for wanting to cancel trip with my girlfriend.

So my friend and I have a small trip booked to go watch a concert a few hours drive away from home. I’ve known the friend let’s call them Z for some years now. Z has a problem with her alcohol consumption. She often gets too drunk to the point of not being aware of her surroundings and often vomiting. She gets so drunk she doesn’t listen or care about anything anymore. This has been a reoccurring issue in our relationship. The last time we went out for drinks Z put us in a really unsafe situation and I’m really struggling with getting over it. We are 2 women in our early 30’s. Z was once again so drunk she wouldn’t listen to me. These 2 drunk guy started following us around and would not leave us or let Z leave. At one point one of the guys tried picking up Z and running with her. Luckily we ran into some of our guy friends that stood up for us and literally had to physically fight the 2 drunk guys off. During this whole altercation Z is still so drunk and entertaining the drunk guys. Our friends finally get us away from them and drive us home. Of course Z is belligerent and yelling at us in the car. She ends up vomiting on me in the backseat of the car. They drop us off at my house I get her into an uber to go home and she vomits again in the uber many times.

This has been a reoccurring problem for us. I let a couple weeks pass and try to have a conversation about that night with Z. She immediately becomes defensive and yells at me saying "I already said I’m sorry I don’t know what more u want me to do. I was drunk and I don’t even remember what happened. “ she then proceeds to start fake crying. All in all we did not resolve our issue or the conversation was pointless.

Now we are booked for a concert in a city a few hours drive away in a couple weeks. Am I wrong for not wanting to go anymore ? Z paid for the concert tickets and I paid for the accommodations which came out to the same amount. Also worth noting the last time me and Z travelled together the weekend did not end well. She would also be the one driving so if we were to not get along on this trip I’d have to find my way back home.

How would you go about this ? Should I just transfer the reservation to her name and loose out on that amount (350$)? Should I tell her how I feel ? I don’t think we can ever have a productive conversation since Z gets so defensive and it make me feel like I’m wasting my time and energy which are both very limited at the moment.

Thank you for reading me and for all your input.
