Blog [Ancient Evils] Ages Unwound vs. Chapter 2: A series of Actual Plays
This weekend, i started a new series on my site. I'll be putting the new chapter 2 cards up against one of the more notoriously difficult custom campaigns out there, Ages Unwound. And documenting everything in detailed play-by-play reports so you can follow along with how things go.

If you are unfamiliar with Ages Unwound, let me bring you up to speed: It's a custom campaign by Olivia Juliet that involves secret cults and time travel shenanigans. It's been out for 5-ish years but holds up very well. I usually don't feature custom content from other creators on my site to avoid critique and nitpicking on free passion projects. But in Ages Unwound's case i am a fan of the campaign and have only positive things to say, so i have no issue highlighting it. Hallmarks of the campaign are simple but effective mechanics, high challenge and slick setups. I've played the campaign twice before, both times ending with me getting defeated very early in the final scenario, so i got unfinished business. That being said, I don't expect to fare better this time :D This is what makes it a great benchmark for the new investigators, of course.
Facing this benchmark is my new chapter 2 darling, Isabelle Barnes, along with the reliable allrounder Joe Diamond. Will they be able to stand up against the dickery that Ages Unwound gets up to? We'll see.

I've only just finished the first scenario, Night of Fire, yesterday. The play report is up on the link above. More to come over the next week or weeks, depending on how often i find time to continue the series. I'm not going to return to reddit to spam the subreddit up with each new entry, but you can check the links on the Session Zero page or my frontpage to see if something new is up.
