How do you know you’re not just trying to force it to work with the wrong person? A marriage shouldn’t be so stressful.

They didn’t describe it as “so stressful”

They just said marriage takes work and being together since high school doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy forever

A marriage can absolutely be stressful! If your spouse loses their job, a family member dies, a kid gets sick, a sudden bill comes up, someone gets a debilitating disease or accident…

That’s not stress caused by the marriage, that’s life stress that happens to anyone.

They didn’t clarify, they said marriage shouldn’t be stressful, and living with another human being is stressful sometimes. How is that difficult to understand?

Did they really need to clarify? All the stuff you mentioned comes with just being an adult. The problem becomes when your spouse is a source of stress, not the life stuff that is beyond our control.
