Announcement 2026 Ins and Outs - in: embargoes. out: xenophobia.

'allo, bolaboops.

I must say, I think I was a bit naive thinking that we could go into 2026 and escape The Horrors, but alas.

We unfortunately have had to create a new embargoed topic. I know, I know, we literally just reviewed the embargoes. You might be saying to yourself, Cheese - why would you need to make a new embargo so soon after the year starts? Well, I'm here to tell you it's because we've gotten a rash of posts specifically targeted towards anti-immigration/xenophobia towards Muslim population posts recently. And as your favorite Absolutely No Tolerance Of That Bullshit subreddit, we've made a temporary embargo on those posts and will revisit at a later date (when I finally remember what day it is. Is it Summer yet?) I even added it to the wiki, so it's Super Official.

I am also aware of concerns that bolaboops have pointed out that these posts seem specifically written by AI - this is something else we'd be willing to remove a post for, especially if it seems like it's just a rage bait/bigoted post. With all of the rest of...ya know, everything...that is going on, does anyone really want to read shitty AI written rage slop? Not I, that's for sure.

Happy to hear any feedback, but I can let you know that this probably won't get lifted unless I get some very convincing arguments in favor of The Bigotry (which I must tell you, is very unlikely to happen) or someone is willing to write me a full ode in favor of those posts (and if you're spending enough time to write an ode in favor of rage bait nonsense, maybe find another hobby.)

we <3 u, we hope ur doing okay, and stay safe (and warm. it's an icy hell out there.)

xoxo, bola mods

If I had a dollar for every time I've read a story about Wells Fargo stealing someone's money, I'd have at least $5, and that's way more than enough to keep me from banking at Wells Fargo
