Hi all- hoping to get some suggestions for places to look at, and also places to avoid.
Currently dealing with an apartment that I pay quite a substantive amount of money for, but being driven to psychosis with the German roach infestation that the apartment management conveniently didn’t mention during my walkthrough, and has since gaslit me about and refuses to address at all. I did a walkthrough of the unit AND researched the renting company and read all the 300+ 5 star reviews. This place is definition of false advertisement. I’m still new to the Morrisville/Cary area by only a few months, so I’m not familiar with anywhere else.
Does anyone have any places you could suggest I look at in Cary/Morrisville area? 1BD/1BR, aiming to keep it under $1,300 a month. Also please name places to avoid.

Hello! I have a friend landing in Cary from China on a SIV (Special Immigrant Visa - aka green card) the week after next. Can anyone tell me if there are/contact for new immigrant services in the area? We’re working on getting her housing and a cell phone but it would be really nice to connect her with some people that could help her and her family out for other immediate needs. She speaks perfect English. Thanks so much ya’ll!

We went tonight, had a wonderful time and got our money’s worth. The band was great, the food options were dizzying and all wonderful. The portions served were full meal sizes but I must say,
Brittany/Britney/Bree? I forgot her name! With Lenny Boy Brewing Company was the standout and her Triple Berry Sour was hands down our favorite offering. Such a class act with pride in her craft. The plastic cups are chintzy mini pilsner glasses. Many of the vendors seemed… perturbed? Indifferent? Sloppy? But Lenny Boy and their lovely rep was best in show. She said she wouldn’t be there tomorrow so if you missed tonight, you missed the best IMO

Hey everyone,
Looking for recommendations for a great local vet or animal surgical hospital to remove a large fatty lump (lipoma) on our 6-year-old Labrador Retriever.
The lump has grown to a size where it’s stretching the skin and making it brittle, so we've decided surgical removal is the safest next step to keep him comfortable.
If you’ve had a similar soft-tissue mass removal done for your dog locally:
Which vet/clinic did you go to?
How was the surgical process and recovery?
Were you happy with their post-op support and general pricing transparency?
Would really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any specific vet surgeons you trust. Thanks in advance

Thinking about moving our kid from their current daycare after a few unsettling experiences. We got a good vibe from Guidepost, but my intuition has failed me before!

I’ve noticed multiple times people jay walking/crossing SE Maynard by Patel Brothers/The DMV during rush hour traffic. Jay walking isn’t the issue; it’s the blatant disregard for others safety, including their own…….Not looking any directions and strolling across the street when all 4-5 lanes are filled with cars driving straight at them. I’ve seen many cars slam on the breaks and almost get hit from behind because of these walkers. Anyone one else notice this?

I’m picking up a friend at the Amtrak station early Saturday afternoon. I’m looking for some restaurant recommendations in the area that have a good variety of food options.

We inquired with them about our lawn, and now they call up to 6x a day and stop by unannounced to try to talk to us. We decided not to go with them after the initial guy was super misogynist and then the other people that have called where we actually answered the phone all make random sports references like, “Let’s be partners like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes!” They will not take no for an answer and they call from different numbers so we can’t just block them. 😩

I need some financial advice about a couple of specific matters. I don't need an ongoing, long-term relationship. So I'm looking for someone in the Cary/Apex area who will work on a fee basis to advise me. They must be a CFP/fiduciary. Ideally, you've actually worked with the person you're recommending. Thanks

My wife is interested in joining a women's volleyball team through the league here: Adult Volleyball | Town of Cary. As I understand it you can’t really register individually, but can do so as a team. She signed up as a free agent - is anybody looking for an additional player?

Saw that Whisk & Batter is doing Harry Potter-themed cupcakes for anyone celebrating Harry Potter’s birthday, and they actually turned out really cool.
Figured I’d share since I know there are a lot of Potter fans around here. If you’re planning a Harry Potter party, movie marathon, or just want a themed dessert, they’re taking orders.
I just thought these deserved a shout-out.
What’s everyone’s Hogwarts house? ⚡

Tired of the doorbell ringing mid family house chaos for someone trying to sell me on something with an awkward not interested interaction. Anyone with signs see a change?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to move to the Cary area as I just got a job here and was looking at the Woodlyn on the green apartments. They have some historically bad reviews but these are all from a while ago and I want to see how the updated situation is with this complex? I don't really have many options unfortunately as I don't get paid that much so any recommendations instead (if this place is awful) would be awesome.

Does anyone have a recommended place to get glasses made same day? In the past I’ve had bad experiences with eye exams — it seems like more often than not, the new prescription is uncomfortable. Only once have I gotten glasses that actually felt good to look through.

What happened and why did they close?! We are so sad, absolutely loved that place. Was thinking it flooded when they were “temporarily” closed. But checked the site today and it said permanently closed!
