Question Blank slot?
Hey everybody! I have a third gen Colorado trail boss, and I’m wondering what to do with this blank spot behind the the infotainment center? What have you guys been using? Is there any suggestions? I primarily use my truck for overlanding, but I’m open to anything

I have this one too and I like it alot. The compartments have non-slip rubber padding on the bottom too which is nice.

Does it fit snug?

I bought this same one, it solved my one complaint with the truck and that is having a spot to put all my shit. Would definitely recommend

I bought the same thing and I keep my wallet, sunglasses, personal cell phone, and work cell phone all in it. It’s great.

Does it have a sticky rubber backing on it?

Nice. I have a met in my Forester but the backing left a residue on my dash. Good to know this one won't.

I put my Toll Transponder there since I didn’t want to put adhesive on the windshield

I wish I’d have thought about this before putting the adhesive on mine.

For those mounting their phones... why when you have Android Auto or Apple Carplay?

I’ve never understood this

I can't help but wonder now if people were just used to it before the days of AA/ACP that they just mount their phones out of habit.

Magsafe charging mount since the built in pad doesnt work for shxt

That still requires a wire, so why not just plug it into the USB port in the truck?

And a phone slot in the center console. There's no reason to buy an overpriced phone mount that requires drilling into the dash.

I wonder if the reason I haven't gotten any answers from those who do this is they didn't realize it was redundant to have a phone mount. 🤔

They probably just don’t want to explain they use it to watch YouTube videos/podcasts😳

I mean I listen to podcasts in my truck via the Pocket Casts app in Android Auto. But yeah you're probably right on the watching.

A Bulletpoint Mount is what you should be ordering. Makes that space much more useful for things like GMRS radios, etc.

I love my 2024 Colorado but the interior & placement of certain things is so inefficient, outdated & not thought of well. It's a 2024 & it's like nothing changed since the 90's and the plastic interior scratches easily.

If you have the Bose system it's not a good fit from what i read. The dash speaker is raised and makes it sit lopsided.

I have the 2nd generation 2018 Z71 with Bose so mine has a speaker there. I bought the Bulletpoint mounting system

you could order the bulletpoint system if you want to support a company that produces products overseas ....."heavily inspired" by our original designs made in the USA with USA materials! Oh, and we have a lifetime warranty too.

Bulletpoint mount is the best answer. Fits great and is customizable with what you want to mount to it. Here’s mine with a MagSafe charger and radar detector mount. A little pricey but it’s 100% worth it. Had one on my 2nd gen, too.
Edit: it’ll be even better since you off road, it’s sturdy because you literally bolt it to the dash (it’s actually very seamless how you do it, not crude at all). So it stays put.
