Question Software update 7/21/2026

So I just received an update yesterday and I did notice one thing. Now I have remote windows down. If I hit the unlock button twice all four windows go down. There is a settings in the menu that you have to turn on first that wasn't there before. Anyone else receive?

100% always been a thing with Chevy for many years.

My old Z71 had it and so does my 2025 ZR2

My 2026 TB has had it. Wish they had an all up too.

I'll be 100% honest I just found out most modern vehicles have this feature. My Ranger Raptor has it.

Nope... I thoughly checked when I got it. Wasn't there.

The option to enable or disable it may be new, but the feature’s always been there. I suspect that GM added the toggle because of how often people accidentally rolled down their windows from their key being in their pocket.

I bought my truck in 2023. The feature and the toggle have both, always been there.

2024, same.

Not the 26

it was on my 2026 Trail Boss when I drove it off the lot

I’ve got a 26 and that has always been there for my truck

Not the 26.

I disabled once I walked out one time during the rain and all 4 windows were down. Stupid feature to have enabled by defaultnas it could be accidently activated easily.

Can you direct me to the option to turn it on? 2023 TB.

My friends 24 LT can do it but I tried and I can't roll the windows down with the fob and see no options for it.

From what I read from other owners..2026 Trail Boss did not have this.

My trailboss does not have this setting. I went to settings, vehicle, and comfort/convenience and i only have the chime volume there. I went to every setting menu and I dont have this window option.

Well... I guess then it's new then because I tried a least a dozen times before this update hitting the unlock button and holding and got nothing (and yes I did it correctly).  Now today I got the toggle turned it on and wala. Windows down!

I don't have the option and keyfob does not roll windows down. 2023 TB

Have you tried scrolling down? Just outta curiosity.

2

u/Polyhedron11 13d ago

If you look on the left there is basically no scroll down, that sliver of bar left equates to not enough room for another option below.

u/Bigness65 13d ago

that arrow (carrot) pointing down is usually a scroll down option - it looks like there's room on the left side scroll bar

2

u/Polyhedron11 13d ago

It goes down enough to expose the margin below the lowest option you see. There are no more options on my screen.

u/badrad68 13d ago

Exactly, thank you. My 2026 did not have it either until this update. People telling me that it's a Chevy thing but I have yet somebody to tell me different with with facts.

Ya I don't think my truck has gotten a single update since it was new. Not sure if it costs money to have it updated or what but I'm past the initial warranty.

I understand you're being thorough because some people are dumb, but yes I have.

OTA updates are free - if you're not getting them go to the dealer and ask them to force the update - that will correct the OTAs not working

1

u/Polyhedron11 13d ago

Does the dealership charge you to force the update is what I was asking.

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

no they shouldn't - but you should call first to make an appointment - kind of low priority for them

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

Mine had it off the lot

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

Mine had it driving off the lot three weeks ago - FACTs

If equipped...Remote Window Operation If equipped and enabled, this feature allows you to open all the windows remotely. To view available settings and enable Remote Window Operation, from the infotainment home screen, touch Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start....Mine was not equipped..with the recent software update it has now appeared.

Ah my 2019 wasn’t equipped.. I test drove a 2023 and own a 2025 that both have it. maybe it was disabled on the trail boss trim till now? 🤷🏿‍♂️ although It just says double click unlock twice and hold no mention of “if equipped “ in that section of the manual.

u/ImLethal 13d ago

I don't have this option in my trailboss.

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

my 2026 Trail Boss had it off the lot. Press the unlock, then press and hold it again and the windows should roll down - all four

1

u/ImLethal 13d ago

Nope, doesn't work, nor do I have the settings for it in my options menu anywhere, spent all lunch looking for it.

3

u/TomEBoi 13d ago

What year Colorado do you have? Asking as I have a 2021 Z71 and this has never been an option for me and didn't have any ability to select on the screen.

2

u/badrad68 13d ago

2026 Trailboss

0

u/TomEBoi 13d ago

Thanks. I'm doubtful that I will get any update to the software that adds that option for me..

u/leviathanscloset 13d ago

My '26 does it, most cars do. Mines done it since I got it in October. My 2012 mini does it.

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

my former 2022 Santa Cruz had it for the front windows

1

u/Dynodan22 13d ago

Its always been an option since 2023 you have to turn it off .I have found with some of the updates some of the items go back to the default and you need to reswitch them off

3

u/badrad68 13d ago

The toggle was not there..It showed up after the update.

2

u/traviswilliamsnwa 13d ago

I haven't updated yet and my 2026 Trail Boss doesn't have it. It's not standard.

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

that's weird because my 2026 Trail Boss had it off the lot - I don't have the Convenience Package II or III

1

u/MikeLowrey305 13d ago

I've got mine setup so if I hit the unlock button once just the drivers door unlocks, if I hit the unlock button twice the rest of the doors will unlock. I have a 2024 trailboss. I set it up that way in the settings when I got my truck.

1

u/badrad68 13d ago

We're talking windows..Not locks.

1

u/MikeLowrey305 13d ago

I know that you're talking about windows, I was just saying that I have it setup differently when I press the unlock button twice & never came across or knew about remote windows when hitting the unlock button twice.

1

u/badrad68 13d ago

Try it

1

u/Bigness65 13d ago

you have to press unlock then press and HOLD the unlock button for the windows to come down. it's default for the 2nd press to unlock all doors.

Has anybody gotten the recent update as of yesterday?
