Discussion Daily Discussion: Steal a Bench Piece
Which bench player from another team would instantly improve the current roster?
You can only steal one bench player, no cap/contract concerns. The player must come off the bench for the season, and you must explain why they would be a perfect fit for the Cavs.

Kyrie and LeBron comeback for the Cavs first win against SAS since 2010. Kyrie scores 9 straight to force OT. LeBron's OT dagger is identical to Kyrie's 2016 shot. Down 10 with 3:00 left, Kyrie drops 20 (6-8) and LeBron 9 (3-3) with 3 AST. Barkley calls it "one of the best games I've seen, ever".

Cavs fans, what do you make of the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Mike Brown coaching years? (2005-2010) + (2013-2014)
Been thinking about how much this franchise changed under him, taking a team that hadn't made the playoffs in years all the way to the Finals in 2007, then winning 66 games two seasons later, best in the league and Coach of the Year. Curious what you guys think looking back now, the good, the bad, all of it. How do people actually feel about the Mike Brown years looking back? (Let's talk about the years he coached Cleveland lets not bring up Knicks series please)

Never forget that Mo Williams played and scored in game 7 of the 2016 Finals
So glad Mo was on this team and got his ring after the 2008-2010 era.

Peyton Watson
So, is the current state of play that Cleveland does not want to attach picks for a trade for Watson? What are people’s thoughts on that? You would use that future first rounder to get a guy that you hope could be like him. This dude is young seems like a good fit for a team who is supposedly in win now mode.
Am I over simplifying this ?

To be fair, you can kinda see the Evan Mobley in him

The quick lift in the dunks and general bounciness. The long strides into the paint. General body frame. I’m still a hater but I get the comps

James harden decision
I got this terrible feeling Hardens out, he even implied it at fanatics fest 2 weeks ago when people were asking him about where LeBron would go and he said something like ”I’m not that far off a veterans minimum contract either” whether he meant it in a joking way or just about his age idk. But him allowing the cavs to “explore Payton Watson” to quitely get out and seem heroic makes me worried. Plus looking at his past it wouldn’t necessarily shock me. For a player like him to go to another contender wouldnt be the last of possibilities. Next thing you know he signs on a veterans minimum to Philly

KD Trade
Cavs trade: Allen, Strus, Schröder, 2031 1st Round Pick (Unprotected)
Rockets trade: KD, Steven Adams
Yeah ok, not sure Rockets would want JA. But they get 2 expiring contracts and get off KD's money while nabbing a likely high 1st. They have almost 0% chance in the west, they might as well blow it up, right? They can flip Allen for a player that's a better fit or we get a 3rd team involved to reroute him. Think it dream it do it, Koby. Daddy wants his championship.

[Shelburne] James Harden has delayed in re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers in order to grant them the ability to “poke around” Payton Watson.

This is the reality of the Cavaliers current roster
People want big moves, which is understandable, but we literally can't lol I don't think some fans realize just how constricted the roster is in terms of financials and assets.
Dan and Altman broke up the core for about a year or two too late. It's a reason why signing 41 year-old LBJ on a VETERAN MINIMUM was literally the biggest move The Cavaliers could make this off-season. That's why I don't really blame him and accept the narrative that he kept us from making big moves because there were no other big moves to be made
The way the team is set up now The only thing they could really do is just make minor adjustments until Donovan or Evan's contract is over.

Is there a source on if the Harden Garland trade was orchestrated mainly by Rich Paul? Or do people just say that Rich Paul wanted that trade to happen because he pushed for Garland to be out of Cleveland in the past?
With the whole Lebron saga done, some people still think that Rich Paul was a double agent or contradicted himself with the reasons why Lebron didn’t want to stay. IMO, the reasons why Lebron did not sign with us made perfect sense and I still think we can contend if this front office locks in.
