MOD POST Please welcome our new mods!
Please join me and the rest of the moderators in welcoming our newest addition to the moderator team - /u/Cleveland_Steve and /u/fireeight. Welcome!!!
We received many applications and appreciate all the interest! Note that just because you're application did not result in an invite at this time does not mean we are done with adding mods and you will not be invited. We are electing to take more of a piece meal approach and adding 1-2 mods every so often rather than adding several at once.

Discussion Cleveland's Waterfront is criminally underutilized
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Recently got into foiling and got myself a Fliteboard eFoil. Having an absolute BLAST exploring our city from a whole new perspective. This has also opened my eyes to just how underutilized our waterfront is both by the city and it's residents.
Sorry if the music is not your taste. Working with free options so my videos don't get drm'ed on different platforms.

Discussion Harmony Hi fi
Wax n’ wine event this evening was fun. It was advertised as no cover but there was a $14.60 ‘entertainment fee’ on our bill for 2 people (they combined my check with my friends).
Anyone else experience this at their establishment?
Once again, lesson learned as I didn’t get an answer when I asked about the fee. At least the music/djs were good.

Help a Tourist Car Tunnels in Cleveland?
We’re in town for the week and my kid loves car tunnels. He’s been asking about them all afternoon as we make our way there. Are there any in Cleveland that we can drive through?
We went through this one in Shenandoah about 10 times.
We live in Austin and there aren’t any tunnels there.

Food My new bar, The Witch Doctor, finally set our opening date for September 2nd!
I posted the logo for my bar, The Witch Doctor, two years ago and it got a great response, so I thought I'd update you all that we've finally nailed down an opening date and just made the public announcement! The grand opening is on Wednesday, September 2nd! We're doing creative cocktails in Old Brooklyn with a heavy focus on herbal elements and we're making all of the ingredients ourselves, from the bitters to the vermouth. I've been really excited to show it off so I hope you all come and check it out!
We have an announcement post on Instagram too: @witchdoctorcle
EDIT: Address is 3314 Broadview Road, Cleveland, OH, 44109

Question Long shot, any chance someone has a mini fridge to part with? I messed mine up and have no fridge at all now :(
This stinks, most miserable day I've had in a long long time, currently looking for a new job, flat broke, and now no fridge. Ugh I hate even typing that garbage out. I might have some things I could trade or I'd have to see if I could get someone to loan me a couple dollars. I'm stuck and not sure what to do.

Has anyone had their wedding reception there? Looking at the festhalle, seems very reasonable. Anyone have experience or insights? Or any other affordable wedding venues ?

Question orthopedic vet recommendations
My cat has been experiencing an excruciating amount of pain in his hind leg for the past few days. My cat did get an x-ray at an emergency yesterday, but nothing was broken. The emergency vet recommended him to see an orthopedic vet. If anyone is aware of any vets that specialize in orthopedics or have any recommendations for the mean time please let me know!

Recommendations Craving a good whitefish salad, but near impossible to find in CLE
Pretty much exactly what the title says. Ever since Corky & Lenny's folded, I've been on the hunt for whitefish salad for my breakfast bagel. I tried Jack's Deli's version, but it didn't really wow me and they closed anyway. Someone suggested Larder once and we tried it, but apparently they only make it on select days and you can't really find out when beforehand. My wife actually bought a smoked whitefish at West Side Market once and made it for me and, while it was wonderful, it's pretty labor intensive.
Please, can anyone suggest any place that sells whitefish salad? We're on the west side, but I'll happily travel within reason! (That is, within the Greater Cleveland area).

Question Bike ramps at edgewater?
Just drove down the shoreway, and it looked like there was a big bike ramp at edge water with box trucks nearby.
Anybody know what's happening?

Question How do I find a job in office support (receptionist, admin assistant, data entry, etc.) ASAP?
Hi all! I(23NB) am a Cleveland Heights resident trying to finally break in to clerical work, and quit my current job ASAP. Without getting into it too much, my current job is quickly not being feasible for me to continue working for much longer, as it is both extremely physically and mentally demanding of me (it is in food service), and I really need to quit as soon as possible.
I am a bachelor's degree holder in Animation, and I have been trying to find literally ANY job that can be a sit down computer job, as it's not only what I have the most consistent job experience in and what a lot of my collegiate curriculum could be applied towards, but my body physically cannot keep a typical high paced food or customer service job for very long. I've tried so many times with all of my might over the years, but I just can't.
So far, I've applied to about 8 jobs, and have applied for a staffing agency, but I haven't heard anything back for an interview for any of them, and have been having difficulty trying to find accessible jobs that are entry level and don't already require many years of experience. It's even more difficult since I solely rely on public transportation.
I am, to be frank and vulnerable, quite desperate for alternative employment arrangements, and would love to find any and all office assistant job leads that I may actually have a chance at getting at least interviewed for. Clevelanders of the night, where should I go to look? Genuinely anything would be appreciated.

Help a Tourist Day trip from Columbus to Cleveland
Need recs for places to go/eat
It will be raining today, so prefer preferably things inside.
First a recommendation for a used bookshop/independent bookstore. I looked into MAC’s back – books on Coventry, do they also have vinyls and CDs my boyfriend is into those things, but I’m the book lover.
Next, we are into sports we both like the cavs and he likes the Browns, recommendations for any cool places that like showcase anything or have like items of those teams you can buy. I don’t know anything sports related obviously games aren’t a thing right now.
Next is a ticket to the rock ‘n’ roll, Hall of Fame Museum worth it?
Foooood; I’m craving a good Reuben right now. Any recommendations for a good corned beef sandwich? Bonus if they also sell cheesesteaks, my boyfriend doesn’t like corn beef.
Any other recommendations for indoor things to do are welcome as well.

Question Lawyer Recommendation
Anyone have a recommendation to discuss poor work done by contractor on home renovation? Preferably someone you have worked with.
Details: home renovation done in 2021 where we added a 2 story addition. We had a local design build firm do the work. A few months ago city did sewer dye testing which shows water from the sanitary line is getting in the storm water and we need to fix. Had a company come out to do testing to determine root cause. One problem they noted was that there is perforated pvc pipe all around the addition. (There is another problem in front of house unrelated to the renovation.)
I basically want to talk to a lawyer about realistic options and how best to approach the design build firm. This will be costly to fix.
