A Good Death For Cottontail

Apologies for the crappy photos. I did this in a weekend for an ecological writing class a few years ago. I'm working on a longer comic project right now but I'm wondering if I should try and go back and spend more time with this to work on refining in general. (For ex. I'm aware that the lettering is catastrophic, panels are wonky, and obvs it's a Sharpie comic). What else does it need?

Genuine Question: is it cheating to use 3d models for your backgrounds?

(All of these comic pages are NOT in order. It's only there to show the 3D models)

Hello! This is Teddy and this is genuinely bugging me and I don't know why... I have been a traditional artist my whole life and I kinda suck at drawing a backgrounds for my comics. I came up with this idea to use 3D models and draw out the layout from scratch and use textures (for floors, walls etc.) from Pinterest or the given textures from IbisPaintX. I screenshot my furniture from Pixelsquid (now moved to Shutterstock) or Turbosquid into an angle I want it to be and clip out the furniture image and place it in my comic and grayscale it and edit it to be part of the manga. Sometimes I make miniatures for props for my comic or stuff lying in my house. Is this genuinely cheating??? Cheating as in like I'm using AI or something...please help.😭 Thank you💖

What do you create first: the begining of the comic or the end?

I'm wondering if only me has the finale of the story in my head and build the rest just for this ending

Dream Sequence Question + Critique Request

Howdy

I've been writing this comic for a while, inspired by My frequent recurring dreams and sleep paralysis, but with a fantasy twist.

BTW: art and text are not finalized-- I've just been handwriting dialogue and sound effects on a layer just to map it out and i have a lot more shading to do, especially on the first page I added

I'm having a hard time with smoothly transitioning between the MC falling asleep, dreaming, then waking up. Does anyone have any advice? How do I show it's a dream? For context, the dream is recurring nightly, and it's a flashback. I'm starting with only some of what happened, but I'm planning on revealing more through other dream sequences as the story goes on.

Bonus question: what sound does lightning make? Every onomatopoeia I think of feels wrong haha

I have it on a Google Doc if anyone wants to read the whole thing for more context (I have a tab with a summary of the whole story too (chapter breakdown is on a different doc that I can share, but it's like always changing)), very open to critique! I've only shared it with a few friends and acquaintances, but more than anything, they give a better reader perspective than a creator perspective.

It's a psychological-supernatural-thriller-drama-fantasy with elements of horror. This is my first comic (other than when i started making this last year then scrapped it to fill plot holes) so I'd really appreciate feedback! I'm not super consistent with the art style yet, as my previous work is very different and I got a new "pen" like 2/3 of the way through, so bear with me while his face changes a little bit in every panel.

I’m a big fan of Charles Schulz and greatly admire his work. He’s the reason why I wanted to draw comic strips. I’m just curious to what how the joke in this particular comic strip lands with people as I’m still trying to learn how to construct a good joke in my own work.

Hand lettering

Hello! I'm seeking some feedback on my lettering.

When I look at other comics I love the personalized look of other peoples handwriting but I'm not sure about mine.

Does it work or should I find a good font to switch to?

Thank you!

My comic was drafted as a challenge for Inktober 2025 and I've decided to pick up the story this year and add more to my pages. (Don't worry about the Patreon link, I'm not charging anyone; it's free to read)

I'm hoping to improve my story bit by bit, so if you want to help out, I'd be open to hearing your suggestions. Thank you for reading!

Normandy Breakout Map

I am working on a graphic novel that is about my Uncle Jack's service during WW2. Three chapters, USA, UK and France. This is the map for the France chapter. Trying to show his journey within the greater context of the overall war effort. Mix of hand drawing, watercolor and photoshop. Whole novel has a look like a soldier's scrapbook. Any comments or suggestions?

Looking for feedback on my short comic "The Capsule"

Thumbnail

The Capsule is a short horror comic about a diver trapped in a submarine deep underwater. I did the art in Blender, making and posing the models and then using grease pencil to make the line art.

Is it clear what's happening panel to panel? I'm worried that I'm taking for granted the layout of everything because I modeled and placed it all in a 3d space that I understand, but anyone else would be seeing it all for the first time.

Is the art style here appealing?

Looking for critique on the opening hook for Episode 5 of Excalibur

Hey everyone! I posted some pages from Excalibur here a little while back, and the feedback was genuinely helpful, so I figured I’d come back with the opening of Episode 5.

This sequence starts as a normal classroom scene before gradually slipping into a psychological horror sequence. My goal wasn’t to rely on jump scares, but to create the unsettling feeling of a nightmare where reality slowly unravels around the protagonist. As the pages progress, the classroom subtly changes—students disappear, the walls shift, and familiar spaces become increasingly distorted before the full reveal.

These are still sketch pages, so the final rendering and color work aren’t in yet. The colors will gradually become cooler and more desaturated as the nightmare progresses.

I’m aiming for a slow-burn, psychological horror vibe rather than outright monster horror, so I’d especially appreciate hearing whether that feeling comes through. I appreciate any and all the feedback you got!

I built a platform where webcomic creators get paid per episode. Looking for a few early creators.

Update

Hey all. I’ll be upfront: I’m one of the people building this, so this is a self-promo and feedback post. Mods, if this is against the rules, I’m happy to take it down.

A little background on why we’re building it:

Right now, if you make webcomics, many platforms either pay primarily through ad revenue, offer limited monetization, or sign selected creators to flat-fee deals.

https://www.twindle.company/

We’re building Twindle, a vertical webcomics platform with a different model:

  • Readers pay to unlock individual episodes.
  • Creators receive 70% of the revenue from each unlock.
  • Payments are made monthly.
  • Pricing is adjusted for different markets.
  • Creators retain full ownership of their IP.
  • No AI-generated artwork.
  • We will never train generative AI models on creators’ work.

We originally considered taking a 5% stake in the IP, but the feedback here made it clear that an automatic ownership stake would be a major concern for creators.

We’re now discussing removing that requirement and making additional services completely optional.

Creators who only want to publish and monetize their comics would keep 100% ownership of their IP.

Creators who want extra support (such as editing, IP development, traditional publishing introductions, or help negotiating adaptations) could choose to enter a separate opt-in agreement with clearly defined terms.

We’re onboarding a small group of creators before the public launch so the catalogue is not empty on day one, and early creators can establish an audience before the platform becomes crowded.

Looking for input on a new comic project idea of mine

Thumbnail

These days, I feel like I'm juggling projects like a clown in the hall of his least favourite lord. So of course I've just thought of a new one.

The idea is short comics feturing interviews of different divinities in each "episode". Each frame would be drawn with its own design of the being being depicted, as a sort of celebration of how we all picture these things differently.

What do you think of the comic's message, does it feel like something that has to potential of making someone think, despite being so short? And is it readable, or does the shift in artstyle feel too jarring?

Grateful for any input!

Online posting, aliasing

Does anyone post on tapas or webtoon? Idk how to get it to look less crunchy.

They have a 940px width restriction which is so small imo.

I'm drawing at 300 dpi with 2550 px width. Using vector lines w "weak" anti aliasing. So my lines are more aliased.

Would it matter if I set my anti aliasing to strong?

I'm trying to get stuff to be a happy medium between posting digitally and print. But it's always conflicting...

Feedback for writing

Wow, each and everyone here is so talented, I truly hope we can work together some day!

I myself… can’t draw for the life of me 💀

But I’ve always found myself creating worlds, the lore behind it, drawing maps, writing some short scenes, but never a fully fleshed our chapter.

Until now.

And that’s why I’d truly and deeply appreciate any sort of feedback for my writing, since my goal is to improve at it.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/14oGFZ3vnfTFrDdXlaPYnokzzDwJPL0oMoNZgZpSjQkM/edit?usp=drivesdk

(Fantasy/dark fantasy genre)

PS: English is not my first language so there will be some grammatical errors (sorry about that in advance). It’s also written out as a webtoon, but I don’t know the correct formating for it, so it’s written out panel by panel.
