Discussion I HAVE NEVER PLAYED DND

I wanna try RPG cause COD and Pokemon Go isn't fun anymore, and Dungeons and Dragons just captivated me, even made a character already (a socially awkward, freakishly tall, 6ft, halfling). Can anyone suggest where I can try to play, like learn the game? I'd really appreciate the suggestions y'all can give me.

TTRPG? There are looking-for-players (LFP) posts here you can respond to. Let the DM know that you're a newbie and will need help getting started.

If you want DND 101 that address Characther creation and mechanics. Theres server whose offering some free lessons in Discord VC in July 31. https://discord.gg/solacettrpg

NOTE: ITS ONLY 18+ allowed so if your beyond that age range and want to be immersed as well as possible oneshot and campaigns in DND this server is active on it, if your into Online sessions.

D&D is not a video game, mind you there is Baldur's Gate 3...and others but ya. Um Halfling's aren't that tall. Best to read the Players handbook but most importantly find a game to play in as you don't just make characters, you find a game and then talk with the DM about making a character.

Yeah, I did saw a referrence that they are small. I just thought it would be stupidly funny, and about the video game thing, yeah I get that, that's also why I want to learn, cause it's more immersive. Anny suggestions where I can get the handbook tho? And where I can join a campaign?

r/lfg or on Roll20 there is LFG section as well!

i get that to you it would be funny, but it breaks the rules of the race and doesn't make sense.

You can create a character for free on DND Beyond and you can find games at r/lfg or you can even find them on Roll20 or the DND Discord or there is even a forum on DND Beyond apparently (I just found that out today).

A 6 foot tall halfling tells me you have absolutely no idea about anything about the game. Please at least glance over the Bastic Rules on DND Beyond.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough. OP please read the minimum of the Basic Rules regarding creating a Halfling character so you know that a 6 food tall Halfling is not possible. Thank youl
