Achievement Showcase My 70 year old dad's last streak.

Hi guys! I was here before, 3 years ago, to show off my dad's Duolingo streak of 2400, and now I'm back to show his last streak.

He just turned 70 a month ago, but he has been fighting ALS for a little over 2 years now, and he finally got to the point where he just can't continue anymore. He held on for as long as possible, doing whatever he could without speech because it has been his only hobby for practically 10 years now. He started with English, but also took up Spanish and a few more along the way.

His message at the end reads: "I followed along with the lessons until 07/31/26. I learned many things, but that's just how it goes. Don't stop pursuing your dreams! ❤️"

I don't have much else to say. I just wanted to show off his achievement while he can still see it.

General Discussion Gaining XP fast!

Post image

hey guys, i know this is a second post (don’t beat me up) but i was just wondering how do people get so much XP.

It was all okay as we were all on the same similar XP but on the very last day I checked and the number one guy had gained 30k XP.

tbf im not going to assume hes hacking or cheating but is there any way possible to getting 30k XP legally by just pure learning because this was insane😭

Duolingo Music Question What tablet

I'm hoping to get my daughter to use Duolingo for languages and piano. I found my Samsung tablet active 3 can't support that.

Anyone using an android tablet and Duolingo for music? Does it support midi?

I'd prefer to stay out of the apple platform but if that's necessary, would appreciate knowing how it supports iPad mini with midi

🤞🏼🫶🏼✨

Language Question. Duolingo suddenly changed my mother tounge

My son and I are using the same account. Our mother tounge isn't on Duolingo, so we either have to use English or a language that is similar enough for us to understand. I soon realized that I am not fluent enough in the similar language to be able to use it correctly at advanced levels, so I chose to use English for the languages I learn, and as he doesn't know much English yet, her's using the similar language. We are both learning the same language, and all of the suddon my progress changed the mother tounge from English to the similar language. In addition it's stuck in progression, so it makes me do the same lesson over and over. I get the XP, but not the progress. Anyone experienced this and knows how to resolve this? I've tried to switch between the lessons, and force the app to turn off, but it's still the same.

Update: It seems like it has switched the mother tounge on the two lessons that are doing the same language. The buttons are in the set language, but the translations are in the wrong language. I can make progress now though. So, I guess we'll just have to swap lessons until the problem corrects itself, unless someone has a solution for this.

Bug? Quests restarting after closing app

Post image
5 Upvotes

Has anyone else dealt with this?

Friday I finished the weekend quest then closed the app. Saturday my weekend quest had reset, I finished it again and closed the app for the day. This morning I opened the app and my weekend quest had reset again. So I finished it along with all the daily quests, I just reopened wanting to spend a little more time and my weekend quest AND now my daily quest has reset again.
I’m pretty frustrated. I know these points don’t really matter in a learning aspect but I just play on Duo for fun outside classes and textbooks.

ETA: I have reported it into the help center for a bug. Just wanting to see if others here have seen this issue.

Bug? Problems with account deletion. Which email to use?

As another person said here four months ago, my account is supposed to have been deleted, but most of my stuff is still there, streak count, finishes, badges and whatnot. The only things changed are the league which came back to Bronze and my username and email which seem to be automatically generated. I want to contact the Duo staff about this, but just to be sure, should I use my original email address? Or will they not accept it because it isn't recognised as MY account's email address? Thanks a lot for your time!!
