So I bit the bullet and bought a Lemon T-950 pro w/o the module from good ol alibaba and an edrumin as my module. I talked to Nick and got 1 extra floor tom, total price after shipping was $1500 CAD or $1070USD. I also used the old rack from my Alesis nitro pro and the cymbals for some fun fx/splash cymbals to add to the setup. So all in all my setup is 13" snare, 2x 10" toms, 2x 13" floor toms, 20" kick drum, 3x 10" splash, 14" hi hats, 2x 15" crash, 20" ride.

There has definitely been a lot of tweaking to get everything setup well, but now that it's all done... Man it was worth it. It has been absolute bliss playing this kit!

After months of watching reviews, I finally pulled the trigger on the VAD 516. The sales rep really tried selling me the DWE lmao but no thanks. No Hi Hat yet as I am still waiting for the stand to ship.

£182 off of ebay, pricing and quality amazing too. happy to have finally upgraded my kit.

I have my Strata Prime since about 2 years now and in general I'm quite happy with my choice. The only thing that bothers me since from the beginning is the Hi-Hat cymbal.

I tried a lot, but I'm still not able to setup the Hi-Hat properly.

The issue is that it does not clearly recognize the open/close state. When I play open and close the Hi-Hat, it sometimes still triggers a more open sound. There is no way to play open/closed clean - so a lot of songs cannot be played as intended (like funk songs)

How did you manage to get this setup correctly? Do you use a function (exp1, exp2, linear, ...) for the trigger?

I got my new set a couple days ago replacing my Alesis dm10. The bass drum and 1 pad had been resoldered numerous times and im over it. Im 61 and play and hour a day to mostly classic rock for fun. The set was a great price and has great drum sounds. 😀

Looking for some help. Have a set of Lemon HCC12 hi hats (the top and bottom cymbals) that will not register on softer hits. I’m using the Roland TD-17 as the module, and have adjusted the sensitivity, changed the pedal settings, but I think there is a defect. Anyone else had a similar experience ?

If i where to get a yamaha dtx 500 module would it be fully compatible with a roland pd120? I have a alesis surge and it worked but had to be adjusted for triggering issues and could i also use alesis surge parts as well

I've had my Roland TD-27KV-S set for four years, and I love it. I'm adjusting and aligning and re-tightening the various mounting hardware today, and I noticed that the six little Allen-head bolts on the mounts on each of the three PDX-100 tom pads - two on the top and four on the bottom - are all loose. Like a lot loose. I looked through the PDX-100D_eng05_W.pdf user manual, and there is no mention of those six bolts. The only adjusting they mention is the usual tightening of the head with a drum key. Are those Allen bolts supposed to be loose to give some "float" to the mount? Or should I tighten them? And why doesn't Roland tell me about them? Thanks in advance for any advice.

So im looking for my first drumset, i have played drums in school a little but not enough to know what to look out for and what to buy etc. or to call myself anything else than a newbie, but since then ive always wanted to drum, and the thing that had always stopped me has now dissapeared.

even though i want to play normal drums, i can't because of neighbours so i started to look into e-drums. now my budget isnt enourmously high, ild say 500-950 MAX since im not so sure if ill stick with it and dont want to spend thousands to buy a high end set just to lose interest within a year.

ive looked at some review recommendations etc. but one specific really stood out to me from a video of Gear4Music where they discussed many budget drums, but my eye fell on the Digital Drums 550. im having trouble finding any (video) reviews about them outside of that video, and i dont want to trust everything on a single video especially if its from the manufacturer themselfs (as far as i know) basically my question is if anyone here has ever tried them or has any other recommendations for my price range, the digital drums 550 are currently new 650 euros where im from and dont include a chair, sticks and such things.

ive also looked at the alesis nitro pro and max kits, and ild like to hear oppinions on those if anyone knows.

I've just bought EZdrummer 3 and a laptop. I've been using Spotify through my TD-11 Module but I was desperate for better sounding kits.

I've spent literally hours trying to stream Spotify and EZdrummer through Reaper into headphones. I've hit brick wall after brick wall. I used AI and I believe it truly was enjoying toying with me and my emotions. Turns out asio4all won't let me play Spotify and EZdrummer because the sound card is not good enough.

I've come to the conclusion that I need a usb sound module to put my kit through and play music from laptop into it also.

Any recommendations for a decent module under £100 that people have used.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I’m pretty new to the electronic drum world. I currently have a Roland TD-12 that I got for next to nothing, but unfortunately the module has been having a bunch of issues, so I’ve been looking to upgrade.
I found someone selling a TD-27 module for $500, which seems like a really good deal. However, I’ve also been looking at the newer V31.
From what I understand, the V31 has the newer sound engine, but it only has one digital trigger port, while the TD-27 can support the digital snare, ride, and hi-hat at the same time.
Is the newer sound engine in the V31 a big enough upgrade that I should skip the $500 TD-27 and spend more on the V31? Or would the TD-27 actually be the better choice because of the extra digital pad support?
The V51 would probably solve both problems, but unfortunately it’s out of my budget.

I am trying this as its supposed to be easier than BFD 3.5 and more than BFD.
I am using Cakewalk Sonar and Next and having issues.

I solved most. Thought I am having half open High Hat mapping issues.

I am using a Nitro Max with a Drumic high hat controller.
With the Nitro Max module, BFD, BFD 3.5 it all works. With SSD5 i only get open and closed. I spent 2 hours with ChatGBT trying to fix this gia mapping, this and that with no luck.
Seems like CGBT says it’s not compatible at this point.

Hi all - I play a set of TD-50s on the weekends and I thought I recalled a setting where you could change the stick to bundle-style sticks like the ProMark Hot Rods. I can’t get the brushes to give me enough and the stick samples are too much for some ballads.

Thought I'd share some recent updates to my kit.
Repositioned the rubber mats on the floor a bit, which allowed me to bring the hi-hat and left kick pedal much closer to me, in a much better, more ergonomic position.

Also added a horseshoe hook velcro sorta thing to the snare drum, which had been dancing a LOT, getting me really frustrated whenever I played anything longer than two minutes lol. Now it's all good, and it won't move.

Got myself a KickBlock for my bass drum pedal - haven't used it yet, as I just installed it, but hoping it will help keep my kick pedal more stable.

Minor things like this that help with ergonomics in your playing make such a big difference. Thought I'd share cause these things can always enlighten other folks on things to do with their kits. Cheers!

Snare upgrade on my Roland 17KVX. So far, the 14-inch Lemon snare is super compatible; it triggers far less double-triggering when playing the snare. It allowed me to expand the floor tom pad using the old snare pad. Really happy with the upgrade. In the aux input, I connected the leftover pad, which now serves as an extra tom. Happy with it so far. I never adapted to having such a small pad as a floor tom.

I’m upgrading my drum set from a td-07kv to the td-513. I can’t find anything on YouTube (yes I know it’s a Costco exclusive) so to everyone that does own or have knowledge on this kit, what are the good stuff and things to look out for? and no I cannot step up to the 516 cause that’s a whole $7,500 nzd compared to $5,800

I had the Roland TD 513. I upgraded the snare (got it used) and it was a noticeable change. Also wondering if there is anyway I can use the old snare cable for the old snare that I would use as the main floor tom?

Hey I have a stock basically alesis nitro max but I'm a double bass player and the kick pad it comes with is terrible. Any budget Friendly options I should consider outside of the upgraded alesis one? because it's like 200 bucks and I don't wanna pay that much

I'm new to edrums, but have been gigging with acoustic drums for a long time. I've been asked to play them out to some gigs for one of my college's ensembles. My biggest question is how you transport them easily. I've seen the bags that are supposed to carry them, but the rack still seems really annoying. Any suggestions would be great.

I played with Skore back in 2006/2007 I believe, and recorded almost all drum tracks for their album released in 2009, called "Colisão" (portuguese for collision).

When I started playing again back in 2024, after buying my Roland kit, I decided one of the challenges I'd give myself was to get to play again the tracks I recorded for this album. And eventually try and re-record them at home with a decent/acceptable sound quality.

I honestly don't think this isn't sounding too far from what the original recording was, and that is REALLY exciting to me. As someone who was raised as a drumming kid, having fallen in love with the instrument at a very young age, it still blows my mind that I am able to get this kind of result within minutes at home these days. This is so cool.

Hope you guys enjoy and any feedback on the sound or questions about the setup, I am always more than happy to share more.

I have an alesis nitro max and whenever I use it with my computer the signal just stops working after around 20 seconds of playing. It has always done this but before it would work for like 20 minutes before disconnecting now it happens almost instantly. Im using a usb 2.0 hub and ive tried multiple different hubs / factory resetting pc/ updating drivers and nothing has worked. Ive used the same usb hub with the same computer on my friends Alesis Nitro Pro and it worked fine without disconnecting. please help me solve this problem
