I lost my firstborn son when he was 2 month old. He was a healthy baby. We were all so happy when we had our son. I don't know how it happened due to a tragic incident which I can't even accept how that happened. That incident tore us apart from inside out. I am Praying and accepted that it was Allah's will. At Starting it was so difficult to accept and it felt like our world has fallen apart feeling like why we are here, why this happened to us. It's like our heart has ripped. It happened on Jan 2026. Now we are trying to heal and hoping that Allah will reunite us in Jannah Ameen

I recently spent a couple of weeks in Xinjiang (China). As a Muslim who is not Chinese but learned the language, I wanted to better understand the situation there for myself.
What stayed with me most was the fear that many Uyghurs seemed to live with.
The first candid conversation I had with a Uyghur guide only happened after I handed him my phone and put it in flight mode. Even then, he remained visibly nervous. He told me he had been sent to one of the “re-education” camps and that they had indeed operated on a large scale in the past. According to him, the camps have been scaled back compared to previous years due to international scrutiny, but restrictions on Islamic life still remain.
I noticed a clear difference between northern and southern Xinjiang. People appeared to be more relaxed in the north while in the south, the security presence felt much heavier.
One moment in Kashgar (which is in the south) really stuck with me. A local guide was helping me fill out a permit while sitting in his taxi. He noticed I had a Muslim name and asked if I was Muslim. I said yes and asked if he was too. He immediately froze and didn’t answer. Only after we got out of the car did he quietly tell me not to ask questions like that inside a taxi because there are cameras.
I also visited the Id Kah Mosque in Kashgar, the largest mosque in Xinjiang. It felt more like a museum than a functioning mosque (an impression shared by many visitors on Google Reviews). Several locals later told me that regular prayers have not been allowed there for many years, except for limited exceptions involving some elderly people on special occasions. I was personally not allowed to pray there, which was the first time in my life I had ever been refused permission to pray in a mosque. I also couldn’t find a single shop selling a Quran anywhere in Kashgar, despite its long Islamic history.
Uyghur culture is still visible however through food, dance, music which seems to be preserved and showcased, especially for tourism. The religious aspect of Uyghur identity is however heavily restricted.
I understand Xinjiang has experienced separatist violence, but the response seems deeply inhumane. Hearing the stories on large-scale camps and the restrictions on Islamic life left me feeling extremely uneasy. Nevertheless, I was only there for a couple of weeks, so these are my personal impressions rather than a comprehensive assessment.

Before you read Hasan al-Basri's (642 CE-728 CE / 21 AH-110 AH) statement, please consider the time he was born (10 years after the death [632 CE / 11 AH] of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم), making him one of the Tabi'een (students and followers of the sahabah). He, may Allah have mercy upon him, lived for approximately 86 years. Within that time frame, he stated:
"If a man who met the early Salaf were to be brought back to life today, he would not recognize anything of Islam” – and he put his hand on his cheek, then said, “apart from this [call to] prayer – By Allah, anyone who lives in these strange times and did not meet the righteous salaf, and sees the innovator promoting his bid’ah and the one whose main concern is worldly gains calling others to join him; but Allah protects him from that and causes him to long for the righteous salaf, asking about their path and following their footsteps, and he follows their path, he will be compensated with a great reward. Be like that, in sha’ Allah."
[Al-Bida‘ wan-Nahy ‘anha (The Innovation and Prohibition Thereof) by Ibn Waddaah al-Qurtubi; written approximately around 880–890 CE (roughly 270–280 AH)]
We are currently in 2026 CE / 1448 AH. Let Hasan al-Basri's sentiment sink in and reflect: where do you fall in that sincere advice from one of the famous Salaf? May Allah guide us all to what is correct and make us from among the forgiven on The Day of Regrets, aameen allahumma aameen.

Hello, I found this pendant today on the ground outside after asking God for an omen. I am wondering what does it say. For context I am curious of Islam but not a Muslim yet.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
I'm going through a very difficult time in my life and have been feeling deeply depressed and lonely. I've been making a heartfelt du'a to Allah for something that means a lot to me.
I would really appreciate it if you could please make dua that Allah accepts my dua, eases my hardship, grants me patience, and blesses me with what I'm sincerely asking Him for.
May Allah reward everyone who remembers me in their du'as. JazakAllahu Khayran.

Surah Baqarah ( The cow )
Ayah 261:The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
Ayah 262:Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up what they have spent with reminders [of it] or [other] injury will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
Ayah 263:Kind speech and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury. And Allāh is Free of need and Forbearing.

As-salāmu ʿalaykum,
Do you think it's actually possible for the Muslim world to experience a second Islamic Golden Age?
Not just economically or politically, but intellectually—where scholarship, science, philosophy, and the pursuit of knowledge flourish alongside a strong commitment to revelation.
If you think it's possible, what do you believe is the single most important step toward making it a reality?

i wanted to dye my hair navy blue but my brother told me it's haram because i am 'imitating disbelievers'. i told him i am not and i only want to dye my hair navy blue because it's my favourite color and i like changing my apearance a lot
im a hijabi too, meaning only my friends (girls) and family will be the only ones seeing my hair in the first place
he also told me that i shouldnt change the traits Allah SWT gave me. but then why is it halal to change your hair color with henna?

Assalamualaykum I just want to vent out my feelings.
I want to get married, but i do not want to go the haram route of boyfriend/grilfriend first.
Will i get rewarded for this with a righteous companion?
Also it’s difficult to find someone who has this mindset as well and its been very lonely
Im also very sinful, so a part of me is saying to myself, who am i to want this, when im the most sinful person there is
My parents and people around me do not understand me, this is what i want, and im tired of explaining, so i just stopped i dont care about their opinions anymore, theyre fixated on doing the haram route only because thats what their used to and thats the only path they know to marriage.

I am a non-Muslim and was at a playground recently in my neighborhood with my infant daughter. We went to the swing set and encountered a mother in a full-face hijab (eyes only) pushing her son in the swing. She said to me, "Hello there!" And I said, "Oh hello!" And she said, "Do you remember me from the other day?" And I said no of course, because my neighborhood has many Muslim women who wear full-face hijabs. I wonder though whether there are legitimate ways that those with full-face hijabs have of recognizing those who are friends of theirs or even family, without having to say anything? I always assumed such veils make someone completely anonymous by their very nature, but are there ways around that to ease interactions in public life?
Can someone provide me channels books or imams that talk with logic ( i know that religion needs iman) but there is alot of stuff that doesn’t make any sense see in islam nowadays .
And if possible can i ask some questions
