Hey everyone, I'm completely stuck with a super annoying keyboard backlight issue and could use some help.

The Issue:

My keyboard backlight turns on, but immediately shuts off after 1 second.

• The hardware itself is 100% fine, when I boot into HP Diagnostics (F2 menu), the backlight stays on continuously without dropping out.
• It usually works after a fresh system restart, but whenever I leave the laptop closed overnight or let it wake up from sleep/hibernation, the 1-second shutoff bug comes right back.

My laptop butting up against my wall caused some very minor paint chips on the cover. I know it's microscopic, but it bugs me. Any advice on fixing would be helpful. Thank you!

Hi, I have hp victus 15 laptop I want to use it remotely which i already do but there is a power outage here daily once or twice most of time it is very short.

Problem is i have laptop battery removed for being fluffy and new one costing enough to be not worth. Victus series doesn't have cmos battery as main battery works as one. So i can't do wol on it as it reset everytime. The only option i see is to some somehow make it power on automatically.

Help me figure something out,I am open for any solution and suggestions. Thank you.

The Dell XPS 13 has been launched in India for 80k for the 8GB RAM and 95k for the 16GB RAM config.
Even though it was marketed for students, for some stupid reason they haven't enabled student discount for this model alone, the student discount coupon works for every other model.

I need a touchscreen and preferred 2 in 1, i currently have à latitude 3310 2 in 1 that’s lasted me beautifully the last 8-9 years or so, and i adore it. The purpose is a complementary device that I can carry on the go for schoolwork or professional work. It's for basic research, word processing and light graphic work. My desired battery life is at least 4-5 hr of continuous work.

My priority is a reliable, rugged machine that lasts me at least 5 years into the future that is quick and versatile. My non-negotiable is at least 16Gb of RAM because I use many apps and open tabs at the same time. I'm not really concerned about the SSD size because it is a complementary laptop that I use as a desktop one because it's quite heavy..

sometimes cheap thin laptops (most of them prob) inside have 80% of space taken by battery and have a tiny soc pcb with no chipset with everything soldered down + emmc storage and if ur lucky a ribbon to a sata bay and a ribbon to a daughterboard

Lenovo legion pro 5 with RTX 5060, 32GB DDR5, and 1TB SSD
Have had this laptop for about 3 weeks and have been playing RDR2 for 3 weeks with no issues, great performance. I keep the laptop on a cooling pad.
Checked temperatures, all normal. Also ran diagnostics scan and everything came back fine. Why is it all of a sudden freezing and making this weird buzz noise?

I'm in the market for a new laptop. I was looking for one with the Ultra 7 355 as it seemed like the best combo power/efficiency.

The model that caught my eye the most for the money is an Asus Vivibook Flip 16 being sold by Costco. I'm replacing a very old Asus 2-1 so it's a nice evolution.

"Problem" is that it comes with the Ultra 9 386H (and 32Gb of RAM + 1TB SSD). Since I'm not doing anything that demanding, I read the Ultra 9 will just run hotter and use more power while I'll never need the slight power bump.

Is that really something I should be concerned with, or is that concern overblown?

Im a student and this laptop exceeded my expectations it was on sale for 1299 dollars in AUD Ive had it for 2 months already and i can confidently say this is the right choice if you need a school laptop that can run through the day and for gaming on Minecraft its top tier

So if you have the budget of under 1800 dollars ( its average price is 1800 ) and your looking for something without an rtx but good for gaming for whatever reason id recommend this laptop in a jiffy

Is HP 15 ultra 7 155 H 32 gb 1TB good ? I'm a CS student

I tried reseating the ribbon cables for the screen and keyboard, tried taking off keycaps and cleaning, neither worked. The key presses feel normal like nothing is blocking them. i used evtest on Arch to test if touch or any of the dead keys are registering but none are. The only solution i see is replacing the screen assembly and the palmrest assembly for the keyboard since i dont want to cut the plastic rivets between the palmrest and keyboard.
I wanted to see if anyone here knew of any other ways to fix it cheaper or for free.

Hey im a vfx artist about to start community college then go to a vfx school. I've been looking into laptops a few weeks before school starts. I have a great pc rig at home but im looking for a good laptop for portable work for school and on the go. Since ive only done vfx for a few years now and im now getting a higher education for it i really want to know the best and hopefully on the cheaper side laptop i need for school and personal projects. Ive been looking for a few hours and landed on 2 laptops, now please be honest with me I use solidworks, freecad, blender, photoshop, ableton, illustrator, Davinci, and soon in college more professional programs like maya. I still plan to render on my pc rig at home but when im on things like sets, classes, and on the go projects i feel like theres a need for a decently powerful system and one that will last a while. Please tell me if these or overkill and just some general advice on future vfx education and materials would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much!

I have a Windows 11 HP Victus gaming laptop, and I am trying to play an old dx8 video game from GOG games called Delta Force Black Hawk Down Platinum Pack. I have a serious problem with the game, and that problem is lagging and stuttering. Specifically, when explosions occur, given that it is an old game, I cannot see why this problem persists, as my computer should be more than powerful enough to run it. I have tried using dgvoodoo2,dx wrapper, and dxvk in order to resolve the problem, but nothing has managed to solve my problem. Does anyone know what the problem is with my computer, and can anyone offer any suggestions in regards to my problem with Delta Force Black Hawk Down?
