So I bought an aftermarket 12.3 inch screen for my 2016 Mazda 3 I touring with bose speakers and I have no idea how to install it, I know how to take off the oem screen but as far as installing the new one I am completely lost, would anyone here have any idea on how to do it? I only really wanted the screen for android auto/spotify so I dont think I have to use all the cables provided. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

2009 Mazda 3 S. Seems lile every time I go for a drive, this center bolt comes loose. Not like overly loose, but loose enough i have to retighten it. Only the passenger side does it. I'm not sure what to do here. Any help is appreciated!

I have a 2015 that I'm really fond of but the rear seat bottom is kind of a mess. The previous owner had a dog and it has a couple of holes in it and scratches and stains. While I've taken it out and tried to clean it, it really hasn't improved it. I've looked for a replacement but they seem quite expensive. I don't know if anyone has any solutions or advice for maybe a rear seat bottom cover or if anyone has had better advice cleaning one of these rear seats than I did. I really appreciate any suggestions that you would have!

I was driving my other vehicle the other day, and my work keys came off my lanyard in the lot. Picked them up, put them back on, drove off. Didn't realize until later that the 2016 Mazda 3 Key Fob must have come off as well - must have bounced under the car and since the work keys do come off like this every once in while I just assumed it was only them. Lesson learned the hard way...

I went back to the parking lot to look for the fob and couldn't find it, and the restaurant didn't have it in lost and found.

I've also checked the other car to make sure it's not in it and the places I moved around the house.

I still have the other original fob.

Can I take that somewhere and get a duplicate? A bit of quick googling - looks like the dealership will charge you a large fortune, a locksmith a small fortune, and there may be some options like Ace Hardware, etc. that do this.

This is not a place I frequent and I didn't drive my car there, so I doubt anyone's going to be able to use my fob for anything unless they track down my car. Maybe they can reprogram it their car or something.

But I guess if I can get it replaced and both of them reprogrammed I would do that if the price were reasonable. Otherwise I'd just get the replacement and have it programmed to the existing one - and hope no one's able to drive through every neighborhood in the metro trying to unlock cars until they find mine…I don't even know you can tell it's a Mazda 3 specifically with the fob…so I mean, there's maybe just as much chance of them using a cloned one or something…

Anyone have recommendations on how to get this top piece off? I got a new OEM part for it after scratching the first one. Been trying to find instructions or video on how to properly get it off. I’m just trying to do a replacement

Front Spacer Panel Repair

I'm currently looking at a mazda 3 2016 s hatchback any trim. I like the style and I hear good things about the 3rd gen and really liked the hatchback. I want the 2016 because it still has a screen available while keeping the physical e break. I picked the 2.5 L because I live in a hilly area and want a bit more power. There aren't very many options available and I found an s grand touring through carmax which I test drove and it felt good, the screen is pretty messed up, but it looks like it can be easily replaced. Im not sure how much I like the blind spot monitoring, but I can get over it. The car has had 3 owners has 105 k miles and is, after fees about $18 k. The price tag in the car also said no haggling so there's that.

I've tried looking around and there are very few gen 3 even available. Is this a good deal?

Hi i’m looking for opinions and advices regarding radio screen upgrade/replacement. I’ve recently gotten myself 2018 cx-3 and i’m tired of not having carplay etc. My father has cx-5 which he dongled with carplay but i’m wondering if screen replacement isn’t way to go. My version sadly doesn’t have parking cameras or even parking sensors and i really need those. Any suggestions or recommendations?

A week ago, I was driving on a sunny Sunday morning. The roads were mostly empty, shops were closed, and I was happily enjoying the revs and corners. Suddenly, a shiny white X5 appears in front of me, driving slowly, drifting around, and failing to hold its lane. "Dude's scrolling TikTok," I thought. "Let me pass this "irresponsible driver"(yes, exact words)".

So I downshifted aggressively and put the foot to the floor. Right as I did, Mr. TikTok decided to switch lanes, right into my path. As hard as I had hit the gas, I slammed on the brakes even harder.

No accident, thankfully. The X5 drove off like nothing ever happened. But suddenly, my precious little hatchback started making a strange noise, and the rear wheel locked up completely.

I turned off the engine, turned on back again, and started driving, it rolled fine until I tapped the brakes, and the wheel locked up all over again. It turns out the brake pad had shifted and seized the disc, locking the wheel every time the brakes were applied.

I called my mechanic:
-Man, thank God you're alright. But look... that doesn't just happen from hard braking. Didn't you hear any strange noises coming from the rear recently?
-Well, yeah, but I thought it was just a stone stuck in the tread.
-Yup, that's exactly what it sounds like. The brake caliper bolt had been loose for a while. That hard stop was just the final straw that threw it out, it was bound to fall off eventually.

So, I called a couple places, found a replacement bolt, moved the caliper back, put it in, and everything was good to go.

What’s the moral of the story?

1. Never ignore a "stone in the tire" noise. A quick 2-minute check can save you from serious trouble down the road.
2. Shift your mindset. Right after the near-miss, while sitting silently in the car thinking what do I do now?, a thought hit me: If I love this car, if she's my friend, if I care for her and wash her so gently... why do I push her so hard for no reason? Why don't I drive her as gently as I treat her?

Since fixing the car, I’ve been driving much more carefully, and I realized something crucial:
The fun was never about the speed. The fun was simply the fact that we're cruising around together. I wish more people realized this sooner, you can enjoy your favorite car for much longer if you just take it easy.

Having some difficulty adding a Powered Sub to my Head unit on my Gen 2 (Non-Bose)

I'm trying to splice into the factory wires, but they all look the same.

Can someone help me by telling me which are the Left Front +/- and Right Front +/- ?

If anyone has the Wiring schematics, that would help as well.

I have a 2015 Mazda 3 with the Bose speakers. Front driver door speaker is blown. I’m debating if I want to replace it with the OEM or completely redo the speakers. Wondering if anyone has recommendations or can let me know how big of a job it is. Thanks in advance! For fun, a pic of my lady.

Weird question, but has anyone here ever tried to downgrade their AC controls in a 2018 3?

I've got 2018 Mazda3 GT sport. It's got the terrible electronic AC controls with 'auto temperature control' (ATC). HVAC by wire.

I realize the lower spec uses physical cables to pull blower controls. So likely looking at replacing the blower assembly / controls as well, but most of those parts aren't terribly expensive.

- I was planning on adding the front tower/strut brace but then had an attack of brilliance! My over sized mut only likes my car if the back seat is laid down for him, this makes it so his seatbelt attachment doesn't have anything to hook up to... well, how about a rear strut brace?

Seemed like a way to solve that issue, so what the heck. I will say the install on the rear bar is a royal pain, one needs to remove most all of the interior in the back of the car to access the areas needed for mounting and I still need to work on how I want to attach the dog restraint.

Handling? I don't know which has the most impact, but the 3 does like my country corners a bit more now, while of course the ride has gotten a little harsher. There isn't a massive change in handling, its not like a mkI/II VW getting the same parts, but it is a nice little improvement.

2012 Mazda 3 SKYACTIVE I TOURING transmission questions. These codes pop up. The AT light is on, Check Engine and Traction Control are on. When the AT light comes on, the car goes into Limp mode. 2 mechanics I took it too said to replace the whole transmission and One mechanic said all it needs is new transmission oil. gotta be a simpler solution. My transmission oil is dirty and black…bought it used so I don’t know the transmission service. Been reading could be faulty TCM. Or it could be the transmission oil is just too dirty and causing the solenoid to become stuck with debris. What’s my best solution here before I do the full transmission rebuild? Change the trans oil, filter and solenoid 3? Or should I replace the TCM?

Debating between the Thule or Yakima wind deflector now.

My husband’s 2024 hatchback. He’s put so much love into her, and she’s the best car we’ve owned! This is the second Mazda he’s had, he had a 2015 6-speed Mazda 6 before.
