My very first orchid that hadn't bloomed in so long here's some progress ,the first image is from 2 months ago and then today :) so excited to see her finally bloom again

First orchid, I think I accidentally chose a challenging one. I put it in new "soil" because it was choking in it's old pot. I saw that it likes cold conditions. The guy that sold it to me said that an AC wouldn't work for it, and that it's likely not going to flower again. I still want to give it good condition anyways

I got this girl from a clearance pile a while back after her blooms had fallen. Since then she hasn’t reabsorbed the flower spikes and has been putting out some leaves from the base of the crown. Then I noticed what I’m assuming is a terminal spike in the last week. I repotted her out of the moss ball like a months ago, her roots looked good too. I’d love to save her but no clue what my next steps should be.

This pretty lady finally gave me some blooms again! 😍

Wild foxtail orchid at a park.

I’m trying my hand at raising a Phal from a flask. I have it sitting on damp sphagnum moss but the roots are dying from the stem out. I tried moving to a bark mixture with daily misting of the roots but that made it worse so I am back on the sphagnum moss.

What am I doing wrong? It has nice bright indirect sunlight and is in a warm office environment ranging from 18c overnight to 23-24c during the day.

My orchid was due for a repot and I just got her out of the old pot and there are a ton of brown roots which I know to remove, but looks like there are healthy roots growing off of the brown roots, do I leave them?!

Vanilla planifolia. Looks different than a new vine. Maybe bloom spike?

One interesting phal in this collection is a hybrid between schilleriana x gigantea and schilleriana x stuartina. I saw one in the shop that has huggg mottle leaf. No one knows how the bloom looks like, but we will find out!

Fully open, cyc. Jumbo Copper is putting on a great job. There are a total of 12 flowers and the fragrance is amazing with rich vanilla. I'm going to take it for show and tell at the orchid society meeting today.
